Is it a good product? I have used Hisense before and they are alright . Please share if anyone used this

    • +18

I have a different model Hisense fridge and it's total rubbish. With warranty service call outs for niggling things, loud operation, poor quality plastics and an already defective temperature gauge (out of warranty), I doubt it'll last more than a few years more. It's 3 years old now.
Just my opinion, others may love them.

      • +8

I have a Hisense fridge and I hate it. Very loud and annoying fridge.

    • +8

I found Hisense to be unreliable, just as unreliable as my Samsung.

Got a Mitsubishi for better quality and dependability -but at a significant premium up front, it costs less to run because it's more efficient and hasn't required any maintenance so I'd say it's no more expensive long term.

      • +1

The repair guy who came to fix my Hisense said Mitsubishi is the brand he would recommend.

      • +2

I have Mitsubishi like this one I love it. ice cream just right.

    • Only issue I found door are not closing properly and doesn't make any noise stating your door not lock otherwise all good

    • +1

My Hisense has been great in the 18months I owned it. Not a single problem.

    • +2

I have an expensive Samsung SRF679SWLS fridge and it gave me nothing but troubles. Just after the factory warranty is over, it had a major electrical issue. Started tripping the line. I had to spend lot of time with customer service to get it fixed under warranty. it took them couple of weeks to resolve the issue. In the mean time I bought a cheap $400 hisense second fridge and its working just fine.

A year later Samsungs's ice maker stopped working and have to empty out the ice periodically as work around.

Then it started making a fan noise . It stops when fridge door is opened then comes back once door is closed.

Now samsung fridge's defroster stopped working and ice is all over.

So IMO stay away from Samsung. Hisense should be fine.

      • +1

I had a thermostat issue with my Samsung too, froze everything in the fridge. Apparently was a well known issue with the model I has

        • Couldn't agree more

  • I'm ready to push the button but unsure about the brand and after sales support.
As above - goes anyone have one of these?

    • +2

I have a freezer of Hisense. Has been perfect since day dot no issues. Had for years.

Haven't used something more complex/used than a fridge though from Hisense.

      • I had a side-by-side that was really good.
Only got rid of it because it wouldn't fit when I moved. Ended up buying another Hisense, this time an inverter model.
I would 100% recommend an inverter fridge, so quiet. Much more so than the side-by-side.

  • It's not a JB gift card.

I have owned this. Came damaged on arrival. Got it replaced which was also damaged on arrival. Quality control seems extremely poor from Hisense. Can’t see this lasting much longer than the warranty period. I’m intrigued to know how people have gone claiming for issues after the warranty using ACL.

  • +2

Bought this 4 months ago, no issues so far.

  • Is it doesn't have ice tray or ice maker?

    • Sistema ice cube trays are great

    • +1

It has an ice tray bucket thing. Not a slide in-built one like in our current westinghouse.

  • +3

Not the same model, but have a side by side Hisense fridge purchased 3.5 years ago originally as it was much cheaper than the other side by sides/French doors that were available at the time (>40% cheaper).
It looks good, but feels cheap, seams etc not particular great. And over time it makes odd loud noises and thought it was going to die within the 3 yr warranty period but still kicking along.
It uses a lot of energy too (only 1.5 star rated), so the argument is that a more efficient fridge would be the same cost-wise in the long run. Not sure I would get another hisense fridge unless they improve the build qualities.

  • +2

I just bought this fridge last week. It's really quiet due to the inverter technology but the build quality is shit. I can see small bumps (dents) in the light reflection on front. Even if you'll touch bit hard, it's plastic will bend and you'll see those bumps.

    • I have the exactly same model for just over one year and it's extreme loud when working. other than that was all good. maybe just bad luck?

      • No it's crazy sensitive. Are you sure you have the same one? We just had our first one replaced (not due to cosmetic reasons - but it did have many imperfections). The new one came with dents as well. I didn't even bother complaining as it's clear that it will always have dents due to the flimsy material. Which to be fair, I had also read about before purchase.

That said, it seems like a good price. Certainly nothing else in this price range with a fourth compartment that can be both fridge and freezer.

        • Exactly same model, but it's not a big concern for me for the surface, as we put a lot of photos on it. How about the noise of yours? Mine is the loudest one that I have ever used. Thought all of this model are loud but it may just mine on the loud side.

          • +1

@mafim: I haven't had any problems with noise

          • +1

@mafim: It's very quiet for us atm. Not sure in future if it remains the same.

            • @Jiva: Thanks for the info. Mine was loud from the first time it working, so maybe just me that pick a loud one. Considering contact the warranty to see if they can help.

If anyone buys this fridge, can I trouble U for the receipt please?

    • like…fraud? yeah i'll comply -__-

      • Seasoned ozbargainer here. Nah I was hoping to enter a competition but don't need a hisense product at this time. If you're concerned with identity theft U can black out your name address etc. Happy to pay actually a small amount. Pm for more deets

  • -1

Better to spend a bit more n buy better known brands. Others aren’t perfect, but atleast the quality n the lifetime of the product will be better.

    • +3

I have owned 2 Samsung fridges both literally died within a few months of warranty running out. Have an LG now but no more confident in it. I think its a total crap shoot lottery with most the brands, some models might be a bit better/worse so do what you can to weed out the ones with bad wraps…. but brand reputation/reliability is all but dead in my experience across electronics and white goods.

      • better to buy a cheap one and replace it every 3 years …not good for the environment i guess

  • I had a same model from last month was $1400. It’s not too bad actually! Like the capacity its great for family. And one of the freezer can set different temperature. It’s very quiet don’t have any weird sound. The only disadvantage I think its the door can not automatically close, it have to push to close, but I think for this price and 609L size its really worth it!

  • +1

CCP really need to step up their quality control.

    • CCP really get their slave under control

    • -3

China and quality control is like America and diabetes.

      • +3

They have a lot of it?

  • I'd personally look towards Samsung fridges as a reasonably priced option with decent customer service, and Mitsubishi as the Gold standard for quality and service but it is a lot pricier

    • +5

my samsung died in 3.5 years.

      • Wow so good i want my all electric appliances die just after 4 years 🙏🤪

    • +1

decent customer service? Their customer service is horrendous. They don't even have an Aus based call center. They have outsourced it to a call center in the Philippines who are of pretty much of no help due to their disconnect with the samsung head office in sydney who by the way are not contactable by any means. They don't even reply to your emails.

    • Samsung is actually good for phones only. LG makes much better home appliances (Fridge, Washing Machine, Microwave etc). For TV Sony!

      • My experience has been very poor with trying to get LG to come out and fix a fridge. My comment was anectodal for Samsung too. If you make a fuss but act polite, they generally fix your fridge for free if it isn't too far outta warranty

But broader reviews certainly indicate Mitsubishi is great :)

I guess if someone purchases the choice article and gives Ozb a summary, that would be the best 'scientific' result. https://www.choice.com.au/home-and-living/kitchen/fridges/re…

        • +1

          I wasn't commenting on support/service, rather reliability :-)

          • @bobz79: Agree with you there. To be honest, based on reviews I've found all the big 'cheaper' companies like hisense, LG, Samsung, and F&P to be very mediocre quality

    • +1

Samsung fridges have a strong reputation for bad fridges. Search the deals and forums here, look at productreview.

  • +1

We have a different Hisense 4 door that is about 3.5 yrs old and was around the same price point. No issues or problems with noise so far (touch wood).

Looks like YMMV quite a bit with them.

  • +2

I always find LG fridges reliable and long lasting. Own 2 and literally no issues in the last 10 years.

  • +2

What am I missing in regards to people liking not having a water dispenser? If it doesn't have one, wouldn't you just need a big jug you fill up to sit in the fridge anyway?

    • +1

Personally I have a filtration system installed under my sink, and don't need one in my fridge too.

Plus id say most people don't have water pipes at their fridge area. None of the houses I've ever lived in have

      • +3

Thanks. No cold water though? My wife would kill me in summer if we didn't have cold water

        • Fair, doesn't seem to be a huge factor for us

        • +1

Just put a fridge drink dispenser inside your fridge. Yes you do have to keep filling it up. I avoid the inbuilt water dispenser cos it takes effort to clean and is prone to failure (just read productreviews). It also means you have flexibility for how you use the space which the inbuilt water dispenser was originally occupying

    • +1

Yea if people are constantly on top of filling the jug up or you don't mind it being lukewarm when it's just been topped up.

For me, after having a fridge with cold water and ice crusher/dispenser . It will be hard for me to go back

    • +1

I dont have the plumbing to allow for one and depending on the system, you may need to manually fill the tank in the door, which could mean you lose 1 or 2 shelves to have it there, so would rather a jug that i choose the size of, on a shelf with the leftover space.

    • Another fail point and potential leaks. Filter maintenance. Cost to run water line to fridge.

We just fill bottles and jugs and have in fridge. Works for us. If we forget, just pop some ice into cup.

  • +1

I own the HRCD512BW which is similar but with a (non-plumbed) water dispenser.. and I love it! It performs well.. definitely quieter & I feel keeps food fresher longer than my my previous Hitachi upside-down inverter fridge & Samsung old-skool non-inverter before that. Doors have been slammed by kid etc but it’s still sturdy and creak-free. I recommend it.

  • We have this Fridge and love it. Had it for about 1 year now.

Is the finish the same as a Samsung and LG? Hell no, but those French door fridges at this size are double (and even triple) the price.

We got ours through good guys commercial and at the time it was around this price. At this price point, you can’t beat it.

  • I got same model a year ago. There was a problem in the beginning that one of door sensor was loose so it start beeping even door closed. Rang hisense and in couple of days technician came and fixed the sensor under 5 minutes. He said the delivery guys supposed to check all the sensors before leaving.
After that it's been working flawless. I don't know others but my fridge is quite.

  • Don't you find four doors a pain to use when looking for something?

    • +4

Yes! I took the doors out from mine so I can keep eye contact with my groceries at any given time

  • I have same model in black colour. Purchased it last year Nov in $1491 delivered. So far so good no complaints. Great fridge as it does have 4 doors which help organise things properly.

    • I tired buying that color but no luck, so went with silver. Which store did you buy it from?

      • From JB only they had it last year.

        • The black one had metal inside with metel tech cooling. Unlike silver which had plastic inside with dual tech cooling… Don't know why the difference

  • Not many voted + in the comments but it has 72+, 🤔 hmm

    • +2

Lol. This tells you ozbargain members voted + just for the price without looking at the negative feedback in the comments. It can be deceiving sometimes.

      • +1

        Misleading!

  • anyone know if i can order now and get it delivered in 3 months? or do they want to u take it off them asap

    • You have to call and ask them. I know Appliances Online can hold stock for you but not sure about JB.

    • I delayed mine with JB by a few weeks to allow for to be in a new residence, not sure on months though.
Sometimes they will agree to anything to get the sale, especially if its warehouse stock

  • +1

Can i use jn hifi gift cards for this? ( stack with 8% cash back)

    • I used JB gift cars (via FOR HIM gift cards from Coles). Can't see why it wouldn't work.

  • Seems like a lucky dip with these

  • +1

Didn’t know Samsung fridges had such a bad rep. Our one is dead silent, can hear it periodically but even then noise is minimal. Has been trouble free since new (2015).

  • Hisense are a terrible company who make terrible products. Any "bargain" involving them will end up being a false economy.

  • +2

FWIW - Got this price matched to $1270 a few weeks back and it was delivered last week. (not installed). Used $500 worth of For HIM giftcards from Coles for FB points. Got $10 off for $100 spend via JB offer code at the time. Most of these were highlighted by OzB.

I asked via chat for a receipt as couldn't find one on my online account and it was sent with date this week. And was able to claim the redemption ;) So fridge was about $1100 in the end.

I'm starting to get the hang of this OzBargain this. Just need to be able to claim frequent flyer points so I can get a holiday while buying things :D

That's my TedTalk. Happy bargain hunting y'all. Thanks.

    • +1

dam u beat me, i bought for $1500 with $200 visa credit bash back and $120 from shobback 8% gift card cash back, effective price was 1180 in the end!

      • I spent 1700 on this 3 months back 😔

  • Refuse to purchase any product from them, customer service is shit and products are super cheap… they should be JB HiFi's budget range for everything but they dont last as long!

  • Whats the 'AFTERHOURS10' coupon do? Just tried it and it says coupon expired.

    • It was expired this mrng at 6. Updated the post

      • did it give a further $150 discount? but this voucher wasnt available on 7/10 when you posted, or was it?

        • It was giving discount yesterday, so I updated the post.

          • @hopper: I see, dam i bought on the 9/10 without the voucher, you reckon I can call JB hifi to retrocactively apply the voucher and get $150 back?

            • +1

@zorodluffy: No harm to give a try. But keep your hopes low

  • Does anyone have the link to the site to claim the $200 I didn't receive the fridge until later and it's not there anymore

    • This should be it. https://www.fillyourfridge.com.au/

I received my physical gift card this week and used some it yesterday. It took a couple of hours to activate once I logged on to verify it.

Not sure why I went physical card….but would have got the digital one so I got it quicker

  • +1

    Received mine today.
JB said no stock when I placed the order in Oct, and noticed me last Friday that it arrived and ready for home delivery from today.
