Before you ask: no Westfield gift cards and no Amex Lounge.

But for Aesop fans who can get to the city, you should be able to buy gift cards in store. Mecca is also participating for both online and instore. And you can get Coles Myer Gift Cards too in store.

    • +1

Where would you get Coles Myer gift cards? Gift card purchases from Myers are excluded according to the OP.

      • +6

From Myer (not Myers) and they can't tell what you buy from Myer.

        • +3

          shhhh….

  • Stack with current Aveda and Clinique amex offers?

    • Sometimes cashback too

  • +7

Shop between 13/10 and 23/10 to be qualified for the offer, aka, no cashback on purchases from today or tomorrow

This should be included in the content of the deal.

  • Are all Myer stores eligible? Can't find anything to suggest it's only city stores (under the category lists, most of the other retailers only list their city stores or online)

    • +3

Because it's an event to promote shopping in the city, not to promote shopping at Myer Penrith. So no, most Myer stores are not eligible.

      • Thanks… Found Myer under "fashion" and you're right - it is only city stores

  • Only appeared on 1 of my 3 cards at this stage - so not worth the visit into the city for that.

    • What cards didn't get it? I got it on my DJs Amex, standard Elevate Amex and Velocity Escape Amex

      • +1

        Not on my Discovery.

But the webpage still lists the offer as Coming Soon, and only mentions corporate cards excluded, so it may not be loaded to all yet.

      • +1

The offer is now on all three primary cards. It was just the Essentials earlier but now has appeared on my CPA Gold and Amex Explorer.

    • Its only on primary cards according to the terms and conditions.

      • Do people just open AmEx card (not just for introductory offers) as I believe they do have 18 months re-applying limits?

  • +2

The link to OPSM seems to indicate that it is an ONLINE thing as opposed to just the stores in the City this year. I usually get OPSM gift cards with my Amex so will probably just test it out and let you guys know if I get the official AMEX success email later.

  • What are the non NSW/VIC people getting? DJ gift cards online? Would digital gift cards be eligible?

    • Did you even get the offer? I assumed this was only available to people who said they lived in NSW and VIC.

DJs gift cards will work. Myer ones won't.

      • +1

I'm in QLD and got it on my Discovery.

Luckily, I'm in Sydney for work until the end of the week so I might have to make the trip into the city at the end of the week.

      • +1

Yeah I got it on my velocity platinum and platinum edge

  • Can I buy online from same store twice?

    • In theory, yes.

      • +1

what about buying $50 Coles Myer gift card twice instore?

        • +2

Try it out and let us know.

          • @kerfuffle: Can confirm it works. Bought 2 $50 GCs from DJs and got email confirmation it tracked

  • +6

lol, used to be 20 back after 50 spend. what's next year's offer? 5 back after 50 spend?

    • +2

Cost of living has gone up. See Shop Small.

  • If I spend 100 in one transaction do I get 10 or 20 back?

    • Ask for split payment over two Amex cards

  • +2

Strike a pose, there's nothing to it. C'mon..

  • +1

    Only on Primary Card…

  • Not on my supp cards too

    • +2

In T&Cs: Additional Cards are not eligible for this offer.

  • I’m in WA and got the offer but can’t even spend in Myer Perth for the offer?

    • +1

I understood you can spend online

      • +2

Just not on Myer gift cards

      • Does it mean i can buy anything from Myer online and qualify for the offer?

        • +2

          Anything except gift cards, yes

  • +6

    WookieMonster has commented that

Whenever you see “up to x times” on an AMEX cashback deal, it just means that you can receive the cashback amount more than once in the one transaction. It’s happened a number of times in previous deals (e.g. AMEX’s Black Friday 2021 cashback deal).
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/708450

Others reported it working as well in that post.
Hopefully that means that we can spend $100 in one transaction and received $20 back.

  • does this include Myer Adelaide too?

    • +1

No. Look at the participating locations in the link in the OP. They're only Sydney or Melbourne based because that's where Vogue American Express Fashion's Night Out is held. You're stuck with the online only locations, or fly to Sydney or Melbourne

  • Confirming you get e-mail confirmations when you make a qualifying spend (I just bought an eGift Card from Mecca). Will take up to 15 business days for the credit to appear, but can take up to 90.

    • Did you get $50 or $100 from mecca?

    • this is good to know, thank you

  • +2

Nice used it twice on DJs website for $50 gift card twice and got email triggered twice.

  • Going to head into Myer Sydney CBD later today. Will decide if I want to buy 2x $50 Coles Myer cards or be the test case for 1x $100 to see if it works again this year as it has previously based on how many cards are available and how busy it is.

    • Look forward to getting your report! 😉

      • +1

So far it's TBA. Got an email but not 2 emails.

    • $100 is far more useful, can use it to purchase $100 or $250, if splitting Coles Mastercard.

    • +3

Bought 1x $100 card from the counter near the women's bras (mezzanine type level above all the makeup concessions on Ground). There weren't too many Coles Myer GCs at that stand and they were hidden on the back down the bottom. I didn't have time to go scouting the rest of the store.

Only got one email saying I've redeemed the offer but will have to wait to see if it pays $10 or 2x$10.

  • Yay for Aesop! They are never on sale.

  • +11

Confirm with purchasing of $100 Coles Myer gc in one trans at melb city Myer, rec’ed $20.

Credits rec’ed within 3 days inc weekend, pretty quick.

    • +1

Likewise. My $20 credit just came through today as well.

      • Yep. Ordered online over $100 single transaction on Fri and cashback $20 on Mon.

        • -1

I bought 2x$50 gift card from Myer Chadstone on 16th Oct and nothing! 😔

          • +6

@TheMills: As expected, because Myer Chadstone isn’t participating. It’s only the city stores in NSW and Victoria that are participating.

  • -1

Would Amex payment through ApplePay qualify as direct spend and meet the requirements?

    • +2

Yes. I paid via Google Wallet and ApplePay has been paid out before as well. Third party payment means via PayPal or Afterpay/Zip Pay type services.

  • +1

2 transactions of $50 gift cards from Myer Melbourne CBD successful.

  • Hi do you know if this can be combined with the other Amex offer for Kookai (spend $150, get $30). Will total credit be $30 + $20 on a $150 spend?

    • +2

From past experience, single transaction qualified for both.

    • +1

Can confirm, works fine that way. Bought stuff from Clinique online (spend 75/get 15 offer) and I got both emails (Clinique offer as well as Vogue offer)

Bought another $50 GC at DJs and got another email

  • -1

I have purchased from Myer in QLD like a week ago but no cashback yet.

Is this offer only available for NSW and Victoria?

    • +1

In store, yes. Should have checked the participating locations.

      • Ahh damn, bought Coles Myer Gift Card so had to go instore.

    • Unless you did it online, I don't think you'll get the cash back.

      • Nope bought it instore - jokes on me then :)

      • +1

If you buy the Coles Myer GC online, you will not get the credit. But with DJ GC you can.

  • +2

Myer Sydney CBD cashier knew about the Coles Myer gift card deal and was so happy to accommodate both transactions. They even got me to explain the deal to their colleague to benefit too
