I was looking at the MyState website as I'm a customer when this deal appeared. MyState is a Tasmanian bank. New customers only.

Deposit $50 by 29/11/22 and get a free $50 with their Bonus Saver account. First 2,500 customers. New account holders aged 18+ only, excluding existing Bonus Saver customers.

Earn bonus interest on balances up to $250,000 with $20 per month deposit and making 5 eligible transactions. I do the 1c payments at Woolies self serve using my linked Glide (MyState) debit card. $0 monthly fee and $0 Internet bank transfer fee.

    but weird i dont see any way to transfer $ out from its android app

      Yeah you're right there mate. I logged into desktop banking on the computer and when you go to Pay Anyone, the dropdown box for 'From' account does not allow you to choose any account ie. the Glide Account or Bonus Saver Account

      So how do you transfer funds out from the account to your other bank account lol? Maybe the transfer out feature is locked until you ID with them over phone or something.

      Had something similar with another bank as it can happen if you are not living in the same State as the Bank. Makes sense as these guys are in Tassie :)

      I figured when my card arrives and bonus arrives, I will simply top up my Revolut account with $100 :D

        I just called them. Apparently new accounts need 48hours to become active. Then you will be able to transfer between your accounts and pay anyone.

    Just confirming you can deposit straight into the Bonus Saver and don't need to go from Glide -> Bonus Saver to be eligible for this bonus?

  • Opened the account last night then setup a schedule with 5c deposit for today from NAB. Found the money was transferred around lunch time.

    So don't do a fast payment/Osko from your bank but set up a schedule in future (ie next day).

    • Osko worked with no problem now, it just takes some time to be created/synced (opened account yesterday)

  • their interest rate is increased to 3.6% as well for Bonus Save Account, same as UBank.

    I rang the call centre this afternoon, the reception told me: didn’t get 2,500 new customer yet.

    Did anyone else get “We haven't been able to identify you electronically to finish opening your account.”? I’ve never had an ID issue before.

  • for anyone having issues with depositing from their regular bank accounts.
    I tried with commbank and NAB. They both cannot transfer money to this mystate account. Then I transferred $50 to my up bank account and then transfer to the mystate. I selected the slow option when transferring. It took 1 day to land my $50 into the mystate account.

          • @timhn: Just login and found there is a Pay button showing. So they only enable this 48hrs after the account is opened.

    Do you receive a visa/mastercard with the transaction account?

    • There is a card number shown in the app but waiting for delivery.

      • Hrm, the card is ACTIVE. I haven't received the card yet and i don't recall i activate it.

    Called this morning, they've reached just over half of the sign-up cap, and I confirmed it's the first 2,500 to sign up (not first to deposit $50).

      my account still isn't set up, I got the "Oops - we've hit a little speedbump trying to set up your account. We're working on this and will send you a confirmation email with your account details and next steps within two business days." That was on Oct 11.

      I've since emailed them at info@ with no response. And now to complaint@ and no response.

        Try phoning. It was a one minute wait and they were really friendly.

        • I had the same error on the 11th. I just called and they told me there's a backlog of people signing up and I'd have to just wait..

    • I dont see any issue with that since there is no condition to keep in any account.

    "We're very excited you’ve made the decision to refresh your finances and start a clean slate with a new Bonus Saver account. Transferring $50 to get a $50* reward is a great start but the rewards of this account are on-going."

    So presumably that means I will get my $50 in Dec.

    Have changed it everywhere officially and applied the change of address sticker to license so it feels bad and dodgy to be forced to use a false address on something financial just to pass auto ID verification :/

  • I got the $50 in my Bonus account but I can't transfer it out to the glide account or any external account… Anyone else have this issue??

      Under transfers, you need to first move the balance from Bonus Saver > Glide, then change the selection (in green) to "Pay Anyone" then "A New Contact".
      My PayID transfer was instant.

    • I have a similar issue on one of my (family) accounts. You need to call to get it sorted out.

        In the app, there is a pay button when you click into the savings account. Got the email, checked now and deposited out.

      Here's the main part:

      However, prior to closing this account for you we need to accept the following.
      By closing this account you can confirm that you made arrangements to cancel or redirect all direct credit instructions with third parties. Is this correct?

      Once this has been accepted, we can close your account.

      • So I think my account is closed now. I can't log into the app anymore. Never received a confirmation email of the closure either.

    I received an interest earned payment back on 1st Nov but didn’t receive any on 1st Dec.

    Anyone the same?

        • yep in the banking world they use "bonus interest" to distinguish the base rate from what's earned by completing optional criteria

    Has to be one of the worst apps and even worse on mobile browser. Can't figure out how to transfer out. I've transferred it to the Glide account but not giving me an option to transfer out. Gah
