    any benefit in PS4?

    • +3

For sure, your wallet get a benefit.

    • +1

Yep, even the base/slim models get a speed up in loading

    • +1

Yes but not for everything and not a massive improvement, the console wasn't designed for SSD's and doesn't utilize them fully like a PC for example would for the same HDD to SSD upgrade.

      • Most improvement is from reduced booting and loading times
Though I found that Spiderman no longer gets pauses as the world loads in after swinging around into a new area since getting an SSD.
        This is on a PS4 Pro with a 1TB Samsung 870 QVO

        • +3

I personally mainly used it playing black ops 3 I had a ps4 pro and the same ssd as you I always loaded into a match first and could be in the enemies spawn before they loaded in.

      • I found it made a massive difference

    • +4

Yep, big benefit IMO. I put a 500GB 850 EVO in my PS4 Pro (similar speed drive to the MX500).

Noticeably faster boot times and made a big difference loading up games and restarting from checkpoints.

Navigating the home menu and switching between apps, store, games etc all really smooth now where before it would be a bit laggy and take much longer. Really wouldn't be hard to beat a 5400RPM HDD even in a console based on older hardware.

As a small additional benefit, the SSD is completely silent so doesn't add vibrations additional to the cooling fan. I have the latest revision of the Pro and it's really quiet even when gaming, surprised me to compare well to the Xbox Series X which is known to be quiet.

  • Got one. I bought it for $98 not long ago and thought it was a bargain. Even better @this price.

    • Could I trouble you for a screenshot of the invoice for the payment amount of $85? You personal details can be anonymised

  • Good thing its limited quantity, gives everyone a shot!

  • Best bang for buck ssd hands down. Unless you have a real need for nvme gen 3 or gen 4 stuff like editing or recording or animation or even game dev.

The difference in game load times can be over ten seconds in some use cases.

But the price difference can be an extra 40% minimum.

  • +4

Thanks heaps my sir. This price is crazy. I have to check twice that it’s not some sort of fake deal.

    • +2

Yea, these ones always have those fake sellers!

    • +3

I saw it at $100 by a fake seller the other day.
      Amazon beats it lol

  • +1

Great find I was looking at this exact one yesterday
Came in best bang for your buck from PC user mag

  • ty ty great price

  • Ordered one. Thanks!

  • +1

I didn't necessarily need this but I grabbed it anyway :)
    Thanks OP

    • good on ya Sammy!

  • +2

buy now, think of usage later… at least that's what I did

    • Same

    • +1

And get some time to cancel with Amazon too if you change your mind haha.

      • yeah that's the idea lol

  • +2

I actually used one of these SSDs in my PS3. Haha.

It's overkill, but it makes a huge difference in a game like Gran Turismo with poor data packaging.

    • +1

'Rage' also saw improvements with an SSD. As does Skyrim

  • +2

Bought. Now I have 3. Thanks

    • Do you have a screenshot or receipt for the payment of $85? I need it for a claim

  • Hey guys, this may be out of topic, but can anyone recommend any good tool to migrate windows installation to this SSD?

I've been using samsung migration tool for samsung SSD. Not sure what people use with this disk.

    • +3

This comes with acronis true image for crucial. If by migrate you mean clone, thatll work.

    • +7

      Macrium Reflect

      • +2

+1 for macrium, great tool, and the free version will do all you need for this.

        • +1 again, Macrium Reflect free edition is basically all you need. Excellent bit of software. Been cloning SSD's and NVME's with it for years.

    • Acronis true image for crucial ssds.

    • +1

Macrium Reflect - awesome piece of kit. It's free and allows for repartitioning to increase sizes. Look at a couple of YouTube vids and you'll have no issue as long as you have a spare sata and power or my preferred way, a usb enclosure

    • +1

you need Macrium Reflect HOME, 30 day free trial. Free no longer does what you need, and other posters haven't tried installing it lately.

See notes under storage section at

      https://lloydwood.dreamwidth.org/16609.html

    • Clonezilla is a bit of a learning curve but I've been able to clone tons of drives using that on a USB stick

  • Sweet. Cheers.

How come the above is so cheap? Ssd

    • +3

Cause it a fake capacity SSD.

      • +1

So blatantly fake it's not funny

  • +1

    wen 2tb

  • Boi that is a great price. Double dips then.

  • What a great find!

Was tempted at $95 a short while ago, but that was supplied and delivered from not Amazon. Glad I passed.

  • How quick?

    • Medium speed.

      (Not fastest not slowest SSD)

  • Is mx better than bx

    • +9

MX is way better than BX.

    • +5

The BX is a stripped-down version of the MX - it's got a different (slower) controller chip, is lacking MX's data encruption feature, and doesn't have the MX's SLC (single level cell) caching, so it's not as quick or durable as the MX. SSD NAND Flash bit cells have a wite/erase cycle lifespan, usually rated in "TB" (trillions of cycles). SLC caching allows bits to be written one at a time into cahce before the entire block is updated, vs. the BX's MLC only, where the entire block (of typically 4k) is re-written every time any data in the block changes. The BX series also does not come with the drive-cloning/backup software. However, there are some good free cloning/backup apps out there so it's not a deal killer. I have the BX 500GB SSD and I'm very happy with it. I cloned my 500GB HDD with a freebie app… Boot-up, shut down, and app loads are MUCH faster (in Windows 7) than with the mechanical HDD. =)

    • Yes for MX500 vs BX500.

  • Thanks, bought 1

    • +1

I bet its for temp orarily store your data

      • +1

I mean I guess all data storage mediums are temporary in the grand scheme of things

  • Thanks for post, if only I could get 1 more at this price :-)

  • +1

Why it's showing $114 in my cart?

    • +1

the 85 stock went out of stock

      • +3

Just noticed that, fk, saved me $85

  • Every time I add it to the cart, it becomes $114

    • +1

the 85 stock went out of stock

  • +3

    price is now 114

  • shows $114 for me

  • Really weird price is saying 85 but at checkout 114

  • +1

    Got caught lacking

  • It's showing $114 when I add it to cart.😞

    • So it went OOS for the price of $85 then. Never gonna last long with this kind of good deal.

      • Just expired at $85, still Amazon selling it at $114 now.

  • +2

Luckily I added it to my cart first, the price didn't get pumped up while checking out although the listing price was already updated to $114.

    • Buy now think later. I'm sure we can all fill 1TB easy.

  • This or cheap M2 gen3 ssd (Silicon Power A60 or TEAMGROUP MP33) for budget gaming pc?

    • Whichever is cheaper. SSD won't make any noticeable difference in gaming.

      • +2

Not to mention that to go back and get this you'd need a time machine.

  • +2

Damn would have pulled the trigger.

  • +2

That didn't event register at Camel3 lol.

  • -6

Christ!! It wasn't a listed deal when I logged in a couple of hours ago…now it has been posted…AND EXPIRED??

    U R EFFIN' KIDDING ME!

    • +1

couple of hours is all it takes, in fact, some even take minutes, nay, seconds.

    • There is the quick and the dead.

  • Wow! Under $100 a terabyte! What a great deal!

  • Cheers got one

    • Are you able to post a screenshot of the reduced price? Need it for price guarantee claim with 28 degrees

  • +1

    gutted i missed this, damn!

  • missed too :( :S

  • +2

Ahhi missed it. I'm too slow. I should be check-in Ozbargain more often

    • I saw this deal about an hour and 20 minutes after it was posted and it was already expired. Gotta be super quick sometimes

  • +1

    Just received mine. Great deal.

    • Got mine too.

      • Do you have a screenshot of the reduced price or an invoice showing the reduced price? This would be very helpful

  • Great price, cant believe I missed it.

  • -1

Does anyone have a screenshot of the amazon page with the price drop to $85? Camel camel camel doesn’t report this price drop. It will come in very handy for a price guarantee claim with a credit card. Thanks

  • 3 left at $96 if interested

    • +1

      Not by Amazon Au tho
