Found and bought this on eBay a few days ago but had already setup my pricewatch on Amazon and forgot to turn it off.
Mine was delivered yesterday and then boom - CCC sends me a price drop notification.
Pretty decent price I reckon.
My first time using JBL - I have been a UE listener for years….

I've always thought the sound quality of these JBL charge speakers are far superior to UE.

I've still got my JBL Charge 2, and whilst it has that issue at low volume (artifact noises), at med to high it's not noticeable. Fills the room well with sound and good levels of bass given its size. Battery life has remained very very good - can run for hours on a charge.

If I needed another one I'd not hesitate to get another JBL Charge.

I said the same thing and people almost got me killed in here. I have the JBL Charge 5 and it's amazing. There so many videos on YouTube comparing both speakers showing how superior the JBL Charge 5 is.

      • Yeah I'm no audiophile either, but just to my ear they sound 'bigger' than they are. Deeper bass, nice mids. I find UE lacking bass myself.

    • I'm about to find out I guess. I'm nothing of an audiophile, but better is good right?!

      • No, better is gooder.

    • I agree, the UE Booms sound muddier than the JBLs.

I second this! I bought a UE Megaboom 3 and wound up taking it back for one of these. The sound quality is so much better

Thank you OP, have been waiting for even a small discount on this model to justify the purchase to the screeching OzB monkey that runs my brain. Relief at last

$134 + Delivery or free C&C via GG Commercial if you have access.

    • +2

I have read and re-read the ways to get access on the many posts trying to help. I can't seem to find a way in for my circumstances. Self employed with AMP super (and not much of it either!!)
EDIT - Maybe G'day rewards @ $50 per 2 years might be my way in?

    • Thanks, got one for $134.

Just bought this from the good guys commercial for $134!
I’m loving it, updrafts from a JBL flip3
If you don’t have a commercial account, I think this is a very good deal :)

    Worth Upgrade from charge 4?

    • I can't speak to the Charge 4 sorry, but commenting as would recommend checking compatibility. I love my Charge 5, however when I did my research into it, discovered that the PartyBoost functionality (connecting to other speakers) was different between models and the new version could connect to the old version of older models (Connect+). So if this is something you would do, might be worth considering.

  • Can definitely vouch for this speaker! I'm a bit of a sound snob and super happy with this - both the quality as well as the volume. It can go loud, and with no noticeable impact to sound quality. I also think its more functional than competitor models - this is always part of our camping kit, and the fact you can use it as a powerbank to charge devices is super handy.

    • Brand = JBL

      • Well the brand in that listing is JBL.

    • Wow. That’s really cheap but seller seems to be based in HK so I think these may not be Australian stocks. I think it will also be hard to get support for any failure.

I found another listing for $91. I think they are copies, and not actual JBL.

Makes sense. Price is too good to be true

  • The sound quality also depends on the kind of music you play, a 1963 Rolling Stones album can't sound like Billie Eilish in 2020. As usual, test with your own ears

I got this product yesterday from Good Guys Commercial for $131.

    • I so envy you

    • $134 ?

      • +1

I emailed the person I deal with there and they did it for $131. They normally knock a bit more off if you email them.

        • That’s sweet

Btw Good Guys commercial won’t let you transact via egift cards.
Is there a way around that, that you may know?
I am planning to buy a bunch of them

  • The grey variant is listed at A$159. 'Temporarily out of stock. Order now and we'll deliver when available.'

  • Just got a Charge 5 for $143 at David Jones online. It's listed on sale at $159, but there's an additional 10% off at checkout.
