$80 to see a rock, not a bad deal

    • +9

The real bargain is $80 to leave the rock.

      • +2

The real bargain is $0 not to see the rock at all

  • Syd-Cairns $90 pretty good

  • Have the people stuck in Bali all come back home yet?

    • +1

That was a pretty bad situation, but it appears Jetstar stopped allowing new bookings a while ago so they could get everyone back:

    • +1

      Nope.

    • +11

I got bumped from my flight on both legs to and from Bali, they overbooked the flights by 12 and 10 each leg. Fly at your own risk, wouldn't recommend Jetstar to my worst enemy.

  • +10

Wouldn't fly with them if you paid me. So many cancelled flights recently, both domestically and international.

  • +6

"Departing" - debatable on current form.

  • +15

    Enjoy cancelled flights, suckers.

    • +6

      This is the way

    hate Jetstar, never again.

iwantthatflight says there's a $140 ticket from Syd to Per on the 02/03/23 but when I got to jetstar website the price is $202???? Something wrong with the site?

(wanting to fly over the labour day long weekend)

    • Go here and check. Sale flights are probably sold out on many routes.

  • +1

Prices seem to be much more expensive when I get to jetstars website

    • +1

I’ve been on the internet for 25 years and this site is one of the worst I’ve seen
Click on $80 flight and they show you options starting from $180 to $800

    • Go here and check. Sale flights are probably sold out on many routes.

    • It's always the case with IWTF. I think they must cache the prices for a while so that they might have been correct at one point, they're now much higher as people buy the cheap ones up.

  • +3

Jetstar is the new Tiger Airways

I wouldn't risk travelling with them on a once a day flight route

  • +4

Counterpoint, just because: been on 61 flights with them according to my flight history in the last 5 years and never been stranded or had major delays anywhere. The rare cancellations have always been well before departure date with free change to an alternative flight which has always worked. Contacting them almost always faster than qantas and virgin too. Qantas lounge access with status before a super cheap flight, very happy. Obviously anecdotal, ymmv, etc.

    • +1

Same, I must be one of the lucky one's. I've been on 40+ Jetstar flights and never had it cancelled. I rarely have check in luggage so paying 30% more for tea and a cookie on Qantas isn't worth it to me.

  • Any bargains coming up to Honolulu?

  • Literally booked flights last night for one of these routes, you're welcome everyone lol

  • +2

Jetstar (aka the bogan bus) is desperate after all that negative publicity.

  • +7

I wont fly JetShitar even if they pay me.

  • Would rather fly Plummet Airways.

  • +1

For anyone complaining about flight cancellations, that's the whole industry currently

  • +2

Jetstar, Guaranteed Biffo on flights these days.

  • I find when there is a flight deal to Uluru, there is no accommodation available to book.

  • +2

I would like to make a stand by not booking with Qantas and Jetstar for a while. Top stories today is that "Qantas says it has returned to profitability". Alan Jones has just admitted their profits are going up by increasing airfares, cutting staff costs and while reducing customer service

    • +4

So you'll be boycotting all insurance companies, Colsworth, big banks, Telstra…etc

    • +1

Yes but what about Alan Joyce?

    • So let me get you straight, you plan to boycott a business because they are profitable?
You're going to struggle to buy anything if that is your plan.

      • No.

He's boycotting because even though they have returned to profitability their service is lacking and still cutting staff.

But I personally don't like Qantas or Jetstar either.

Their service has been horrendous over the years and it was a struggle to get refunds for flights during the pandemic.

Other airlines i booked with refunded without issues.

In addition Qantas Business class is piss poor compared to other airlines from my experience and this was before the pandemic.
