Samsung 512GB PRO Plus MicroSD Card $89 (Pay by Card) + $6 Delivery ($0 with eBay Plus/ C&C) @ Bing Lee eBay

930
MCPAY10V4

Bing Lee and Amazon have some good deals on Samsing PRO Plus MicroSD Cards. Bing Lee beats Amazon if you can take advantage of coupons and eBay Plus. Someone has stated that you have to pay by credit card to use the discount code. I haven't really tried buying any of these so please let us know if you run into any issues.

eBay

Samsung 128GB PRO Plus $22.80 (PLUSOCT1)
Samsung 256GB PRO Plus $46.55 (PLUSOCT1)

Goodguys

Samsung 512GB PRO Plus $89.10 + $5* Delivery (OCT10)

*Someone was able to get the delivery charge waived. Maybe paypal had something to do with it? YMMV.

Amazon AU

Samsung 128GB PRO Plus $24 OOS
Samsung 256GB PRO Plus $49
Samsung 512GB PRO Plus $99

Edit: Looks like you can get the 512GB Pro Plus from Goodguys too for $99 but there is a 10% off promo code OCT10, but I don't quite know how it works. I couldn't use it in my cart. Got it working but I think you have to get it delivered for $5.

Edit: Added info about credit card.

Edit: Added info about free delivery

Edit: Amazon 128GB has gone up. Bing Lee price for 128GB has changed for me for some reason. It didn't show the coupon for me when I created the deal. Not sure why.

Original Coupon Deal

Edit: Seems to be active again. Codes may differ slightly though. I think I can use my eBay Plus monthly voucher this time on the 128GB one to bring it down to $19. Maybe I used it previously, or I couldn't use it last time??

  • Any way of free return on Amazon? I couldn't stop accepting because postie will put it in my mailbox since this is a regular mail size parcel. Cheaper than yesterday

    • +1

just start a chat with them

  • Can you use this for Nintendo Switch?

Edit: Amazon review says yes people has been using this microSD card on Nintendo Switch

    • +2

Are there any MicroSD cards that dont work with a Switch?

  • +1

Is there any good reasons why you would buy this SD card over the cheaper Evo Plus? The read and write speeds are already so high that very few devices can max out the cards, right?

    • Yeah, I have an Evo Plus on the way for a Steam Deck and it seems like there won't be a difference.

      • -5

Did you post the deal to get steam deck?

      • where and how much for the deck?

        • Gonna be about $800 all up, imported from the US

            • +1

              @JJlikes2eat: Just 64gb

              • @theguyrules: is 64Gb base model enough storage?

some games are quite big and might not be able to install with only 64GB
or you can only have a few games on it.

with microsd card, will it have good performance for gaming?
or is it only for slower/older games or emulation?

                • +1

@pinkybrain: Have a google - the whirlpool thread has been super helpful.
Plenty of people game off the Micro SD card plus it is cheaper to upgrade the SSD yourself if need be.
Anyway, any more questions have a google - don't want to derail this thread.

    • Future proof storage

    • I would like to know this too

    • At a guess I would expect sustained speeds on this are higher.

    • Guaranteed sustain writes. My dji goggles throw errors when using the basic Samsung evo, had to get a Sandisk extremes.

      • Is this good for Microsoft Surface Pro?

        • What are you storing on it? Speed is the only difference, surface won't complain if you give it a slow card.

          • @krisspy: just normal data. Word and excel documents, some movies. No windows or software files, that will be on the SSD

            • @Homr: Word and excel documents assuming not too big, will be fine on any SD
movies again play on any SD, copying will be faster tho

      • The DJI FPV has a maximum transmission bitrate of 120mbps = 15MB/s. source The Samsung evo plus SD card (128gb and above) are rated U3 which specifies a minimum sustained write speed of 30MB/s. This is 2x faster than the maximum bit rate of the FPV. You should not be experiencing sustained write issues using the Samsung card, maybe the card is faulty or there is another compatibility issue?

        • You'd think so. This is for the goggles 2 dvr mind you, not the drone itself. So 1080p 60fps @ 50mbps, hardly demanding. Not sure if dji does checks on the card but recording drops out on the goggles as soon as it starts or randomly mid flight, error pops up that the card is too slow.

Cards only 6 months old or so, was using it on my dslr for jpegs before, hasn't had too much writes on it.

    • The most simplified explanation as to what you require is, you need the minimum sequential write speed to be higher than what you're trying to capture (video). V30 has a minimum write speed of 30MB/s so as long as whatever resolution at whatever framerate you're trying to capture is below it then you're good.
Generally anything V30 and above is considered overkill for use on your switches, steam deck etc as you don't need 30MB/s write. It's much better to go for more storage in most cases. $89 for a 500MB V30 isnt bad tho

  • Will not let use the code unless credit card used

  • +1

Amazon UK was selling the older version for around $60 a few days ago. Even though this bears a PRO name, it doesnt change the fact that it is just the same V30 card. Any V30 from Samsung or Sandisk should be treated as having the same performance and priced accordingly.

  • Would be good if Samsung phones could actually use them. Whats even the point of sd cards now…

    • +4

Really wish if samsung bring back sd cord slot. They ditched back with S6 series but brought back on s7

      • +1

Galaxy s10 s10+ were the last with sd micro slot and 3.5mm jack.
Then Samsung went to the dark side, iGalaxy S21. No micro slot, audio jack. And now no power charger.

        • The galaxy a73 has it, which is the main reason i bought it

        • My s20 ultra 512gb has microsd slot.

        • +1

Woo hoo, I still have my s10e

    • +3

I didn't know sd cards were exclusively used by phones.

    • S20 series still has sd card slot

  • GO PRO 11 compatible !?

    confirmed, yup. most definitely.

  • +3

    Come on 1TB deals

  • So the speeds are 160MB/s/120MB/s

Does that mean my NBN 250/25 can download to my local SSD drive faster than I can upload to the SD card? If so, the SD card is pretty slow and slower than a USB 3.0 drive?

    • real UHS I speeds are up to 110mb/s. The rest are wishful "if you use my reader during a waning moon" speeds.

      • So slower than my nbn??

        • +1

250mbps = 31.25 MB/s so the SD card with 120 MB/s is 3.84x faster than your NBN download speed.

    • +4

      MB/s != Mb/s

    • +1

You can write to the card at 960Mbps

      • +1

so its slower than 1000/50 nbn lol?

  • 120MB writes is better than the sandisk extreme / pro

    • No seems it can get up to 140 MB/s, also read is up to 200 MB/s

      • Extreme and extreme pro use only 90 write

        This is 120

Read is irrelevant when ur recording

  • well, I have absolutely no need for an extra sd card until I see this post…

  • +2

"Pro" in 2021 but not UHS-II?

  • If I add one of each on eBay the postage shows as -$2. So total of $71 less $3.65 voucher also. Weird

  • Damn it! I got a Switch OLED last night and bought the Nintendo Switch branded 256GB sd card. Tempted to return and get this one instead…

  • +1

Great find!! Ended up ordering the 512Gb pro plus from good guys.. used the OCT10 discount code.. paid via paypal.. and somehow managed to have the delivery charge waived!! Was charged $89.10 including delivery, estimated arrival of the 28th of October.

    • Not sure how the delivery works to be honest. I didn't buy it but I did try adding to my cart and put in a dummy address in my suburb and it came up with $5 shipping. I assume you can't pick up as this is online only.

      • Yup, online only and delivery.. I am not in a rush so I was prepared to pay the five dollar delivery that showed up on the total when I added it to the cart, however after signing in and checking out with PayPal, delivery was free for whatever reason.. I dunno!!

  • Thanks OP! Got the last 4 128gb ones in stock on ebay. $22.80ea with coupon.

  • Amazon for a few dollars more was next day delivery… Mine arrived a few hours ago from last night's order.

I needed it sooner than "end of October" so perfect timing!!

  • Samsung 128GB PRO Plus $24 - is all out of stock.. Sighhh..

  • Does anyone know if this is good enough to be used with DJI drones?

  • OCT10

    Shows available for me.

    • +1

I think it expired on Friday.

    • Sorry. I meant not available.

  • 128gb pro card available again on eBay and amazon.

    • Sorry, missed your reply. Bit late now I guess.

      • All good mate.
