3 Metre Steel Climbing Dome $179 (Save $220) + Delivery ($0 to Metro Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney) @ Bunya Kids

170

equal cheapest price ever on this. Note that this is significantly bigger than the ones that Bunnings and Kmart sell

This is an awesome piece of play equipment that kids really love and will get them outside and moving whilst having a great time.

Built to survive harsh Australian conditions with hot dipped galvanised steel and powder coating as well as stainless steel nuts / bolts / washers. Comes flat packed and requires assembly (1-2hrs, tools provided) and it's quite large once assembled (3 metre diameter, 1.5 metres high) so make sure you have the space. Suitable for ages 3-10. Maximum total weight capacity of 350KG.

These have been really popular overseas and we decided to start selling them because the alternatives in the Australian market are just too small for older kids. The only other one I am aware of this size is the Plum Phobos but I'm not a fan of its design and it's a lot more expensive.

Any questions let me know. There's no coupon code but you must follow the Ozbargain link to get the special price.

Metro shipping: free metro shipping applies to metro Adelaide / Melbourne & Sydney, other areas like metro Brisbane have very cheap shipping so check with our calculator in cart to confirm

Please note: due to issues with our shipping carrier the dome may come separated into two boxes.
Depending on demand it may take up to a week for your order to ship.

Free 'metro' shipping: A customer has pointed out that they are not receiving free shipping to a metro location in Melbourne. Some 'metro' suburbs our courier doesn't seem to offer their standard metro rates to and unfortunately this is out of our control (usually these will be outer suburbs / hills suburbs). Apologies for the confusion here. Most metro areas in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney will have free shipping but in some cases you may be charged - you can check this with our shipping estimator once adding to cart.

  • Thanks OP, just in time for summer…

  • Can anyone comment on how long these will last if kept out in the elements? Do they need regular maintenance?

    • How long it lasts probably depends on where you live. I have had one set up in my back yard for 2 years and the paint still looks brand new (I live about 2km from the beach). Done no maintenance at all apart from tightening the hand grips from time to time (you could probably loctite them if you didn't want to do this). Our climbing domes have two layers of protection unlike others (powder coating and galvanised). Most others are just powder coated so if the paint is damaged by wear or time it starts rusting really badly underneath.

  • Well, that's one way to Bun Ya Kids!

  • If I leave this out in the sun and rain, will the screws start to rust soon? I understand a lot of products advertise as outdoor products but I have noticed they all start to rust or wear down pretty quickly when constantly exposed to sun and rain. Live in sunny QLD, if that helps.

    • +1

The screws and nuts are stainless steel so should last a very long time without rusting (as opposed to zinc coating which tends to rust far more quickly). My dome has been in full sun for 2 years with no signs of rust at all.

  • How long do u think this will keep a 6yo and a 3.5yo entertained? :S

  • Hi. I purchased 2 domes in the previous deal, connected them together to form a sphere, but realised that the final sphere was more of an oblate spheroid

But anyway, it was still fun. I had my wife test the safety of my sphere and as I rolled it around our hilly neighborhood. It bruised her hands as it rolled over on top of them while she gripped for dear life, and she struggled to stay inside on bigger inclines. It's a lot more fun rolling the sphere on grass than concrete/gravel, FYI.

    10/10 good times.
