[NSW, QLD] 25% off Car Insurance (IAG Brand) for First 6 Months @ ROLLiN' Insurance

740
BDAY25

Rollin Insurance (rebranded from Poncho) is offering 25% off their month-to-month insurance premiums for the first 6 months. This is currently the best offer I could find for insurance across all providers (~30% cheaper compared to the best quote I could find if I stay with them for 6 months, and ~19% cheaper if I stay with them for full year).

Website looks shady, but they are underwritten by IAG and was recommended along with Bingle as one of the cheap providers in previous OzB threads.

    • Use your cooling-off period to exit.

  • Just a warning for existing Rollin customers. I tried a new quote and it was significantly higher (~40%) than the current premium I am paying. Looks like they have inflated the base prices to make way for this promo.

    • Surely an insurance company would never do such a thing!

Financial services are not allowed to inflate base prices to provide discount.

Not sure if your new quote is exactly like for like as your renewal policy? (I will assume they are exactly like-for-like)

Things have gotten much more expensive in the recent years (inflation, repair costs, cost of spare parts, etc.). That could be one of the reason why you see new quotes being more expensive than renewals. It can also be the case if your policy has certain discounts attached (like the 30% Covid discount that another customer has above)

    • That’s true even before this offer rolled out. I have my car insurance with them for 2 years and when I checked quote earlier this year as a new customer for same car, the new premium quoted was much higher than what I am already paying. So for existing customers it’s best to stick to existing plan.

  • Why would you rebrand your insurance company after a Limp Bizkit song?

  • Just obtained a quote, price for my vehicle seems decent.

  • The first thing it does is ask what model car. Wasted all that time filling out the next few pages. Absolute ****heads

We are so grateful you took the time to get a quote with us but unfortunately,
We don't insure your car's make and model, registration number xxxxxx

If it’s a JV with RAC they won’t insure a current gen mustang because it doesn’t meet their stupid ANCAP safety requirements (which has nothing to do with insurance or accident repairs)

    • Interesting thing is the valuation was realistic vs others who’s market value is out of touch with current pricing.

      • Same. Premium is now over $1k. Quote from Shannon's, they said modern cars are more expensive to insure than $150k classics. said current gen mustang have higher accident rates (don't know if I agree with any of this) who are you insured with?

Significantly cheaper quote for me than other insurers. Anout 50%.

Probably because I've never held insurance before and I'm about to get my first car. Other insurers ask for how many you've held car insurance (for no claim fiscount) whilst rollin doesn't. Just a thought!

  • Working fine in QLD. Just switched, thanks OP!

We are so grateful you took the time to get a quote with us but unfortunately,

Due to your previous insurance history, we are unable to offer you insurance.
Due to your previous records, we are unable to offer you insurance.
Due to your previous driving history, we are unable to offer you insurance.
Due to your previous claims history, we are unable to offer you insurance.

    Wow, got the entire whammy!

To be fair, you are a devil!

  • Where do I have to enter the coupon code? Pls advise :)

Thanks OP, I also just switched. $40 cheaper p/m than current Allianz policy, $8000 higher agreed value - around 40% cheaper in comparison. Switching was a no brainer.

No choice of repairer though. In Sydney the approved repairers near me are mostly Motorserve branches (owned by NRMA/IAG).

There’s a few independents a bit further out but most have little/no online presence, a few have google map reviews though.

If I get into an accident I’ll probably just go with Motorserve/NRMA cause they’ll be the easiest to deal with. There aren’t any VAG approved repairers in NRMA’s network so no point in being too picky.

  • I'm with Rollin' now and it's $210 a month. A quote came into $142 with the discount.

Has any current customers rang and got the discount?

    • Yes, just contact their support via FB, IG or email and they will cancel your current policy with them. Pick the next day as your new policy's start date.

  • you can login and cancel and they refund you the amount
