  • Bit off topic but how do the live stream DJs record video from the camera and audio from the DJ mixer in sync in one go?

If I want to record and upload on YouTube

    Will this thing help?
I don't need multiple camera angles

This is just a programmable keyboard with a screen behind it so you can put icons/images on each key. It’s not really required equipment it just makes doing some things take less of your attention/ memory.

At a guess, DJs probably use something like OBS (software) and something like a goXLR for, audio. Some probably have lists of what they used linked to Amazon buy pages via affiliate links ;)

Check out OBS, it'll do what you want. You'll need to pipe the audio back into the computer via a line in if you're not just using a deck as an input.

      • Thanks guys.
Will take a look at OBS properly

Even more off topic. Any rumours on an Australian release date for the Steam Deck? Every time I skim over a deal on these I double take.

    • Well it took over a year to get the Index, and it was an EB Exclusive. As was the Steamlink and Steam Controller.
So you'd better start hassling EB head office about it. And expect a 30% markup.

    • I am in the process of importing one. $783 AU for the 64gb.

      • I was tempted to, a mate OS offered to buy it and ship it. I just don't want to deal with all that hassle if it ever becomes faulty. It's a lot of cash to have no warranty available without shennanigans.

        • +1

Yeah that's a big fear. It'll cost a bunch to RMA. Oh well.

If it ends up over here at a 30% markup, I'll still have saved money.

  • Considering I just sold my used one for $140 on marketplace, this is good.

For a second I thought this was a Steam Deck and was like $150?!?!

  • Anyone using this for remote working rather than game streaming etc? Curious how you're using it.

    • +1

I did. I used it for Zoom/Google Meet hotkeys, and some VSCode macros.
Stopped using it in favour of a cleaner desk setup though.
It didn't really save me that much time.

      • I'm always tempted but this is what has always held me back. I'm actually programming the buttons on my MX MasterMouse and MX keys to do various things (take screenshot, toggle Teams mute, etc).

  • I hope the 6 key Stream Deck Mini is discounted. 15 buttons was far too many for me to utilise the device satisfactorily.
