½ Price 1st Month Mobile Plan, eGift Card of 10% Largest Monthly Coles Shop ($30 Cap) for 6 Months (Flybuys Req) @ Coles Mobile

170

I was on the lookout for a new mobile plan and came across this deal. Looks like Coles Mobile is replicating the Woolies Mobile 10% off, albeit with a max cap of $30 (woolies is $50).

The above combined with the half price Month-to-Month plans currently going on, makes it a decent deal if you're looking to churn telcos.

2 plans:

$17 for the first month ($35 monthly ongoing)

  • 45 GB Data
  • Unlimited standard national talk and text
  • Unlimited standard international calls to 22 selected destinations
  • Rollover up to 500 GB when auto payments are maintained

$22 for the first month ($45 monthly ongoing)

  • 70GB Data, rest same inclusions as above

Also another good thing is they're 30 days recharge as opposed to 28 like some others.

There's also 2 prepaid plans which are discounted as well. However, these don't have the 10% off eGift card like the above month to month ones

$10 for 30 days

  • 15GB Data
  • $20 ongoing month to month
  • Unlimited standard national talk and text
  • Unlimited standard international calls to 15 selected destinations
  • Rollover up to 50GB when you recharge before expiry or when you maintain an active AutoRecharge

$95 for 365 days

  • 60GB Data
  • First 365 days only. Ongoing recharges $120/365 days
  • Unlimited standard national talk and text
  • Unlimited standard international calls and text to 15 selected destinations
  • Rollover up to 50GB when you recharge before expiry or when you maintain an active AutoRecharge

If you're a heavy Coles/Coles online user, i.e. at least one week with a $300 shop, I think these are superb value and you can easily get a good plan (the first of the month to month plans for $17/$35) with decent data and international calling inclusions for a profit of $13 in the first month ($17-$30) and just $5 per month for 5 subsequent months.

Not able to receive sms overseas is a deal breaker…

    • Does other mobile operator have ability to receive SMS while abroad? If so what operators?

      • +1

Amaysim (Optus) only need to activate the roaming feature online via your account.
WOW mobile (Telstra) I recently read a clause stating that WOW allows you to roam international (receive text) whilst abroad at no additional costs. Data and call packs can be purchased as additions if your require such whilst roaming.

        • I can confirm that woollies mobile enabled roaming in Singapore, Call+SMS

    • @ relicsinner

Says in FAQ on their website-they have roaming ?

      • They do have roaming at an additional cost unlike amaysim and wow like sqjew mentioned.

Wrong - You can now enable international roaming and it is free to receive SMSs overseas - https://colesmobile.com.au/home/page/roaming-price
Details on roaming which is auto enabled on all Coles Mobile services is in the FAQ section -https://www.colesmobile.com.au/home/page/how-roaming-works

      • That is not the case when I traveled to Singapore early this year. My mobile have absolutely no reception…

        • +1

It changed a few months ago to include options for international roaming. Things do change from time to time

      • Thanks for that. I didn't know this one either.

It's a lot worse deal than the woolies offer if you're going after the savings shopping. Might be okay for heavy data users. At least with woollies the discount applied to the majority of plans and even their credit card.

The cheapest Coles plan becomes $35 a month and the cheapest Woolies plan is $60 with 15 gig over six months.

    Optus network

    • Oh dear…

      • Trouble i have is that data is slow where i am currently living on Telstra, so only option is Optus
(& Voda slow due to tower distance )

Do have Vodafone and Telstra sims
        for travelling.

  • last time I ported to Coles I couldn't send SMS to some contacts but could receive theirs fine. Coles help desk was as useless as tits on a bull and not interested in trying to resolve, ported out to boost and issue fixed.

Limited to the first 6 months of the selected services - Woolworths stays active while on the plan

  • +1

Coles would be better since its is giving 10% of the largest shop unlike woolies, which has no such thing. Your egift card WONT cover ongoing cost of $35 a month.

Woolies is def better in sense that no monthly plan required, can simply buy cheaper Annual mobile plan to get the monthly discount.

  • "eGift Card of 10% Largest Monthly Coles Shop" still unclear how to redeem it? "Flybuys Req" — where do I input my flybuys no. into coles mobile account? There is no such field in "Personal Details" of coles mobile website.

  • Woolworths mobile customer can also get 4% discount on Woolworths gift card, so it is 10%+ 4%, better than this
