    Really like the Wera stuff!

  • +1

Finally got it for a good price. Cheers.

  • +1

Looks like the screwdriver is in three pieces. Is it a PITA to use?

    • +5

it is not the 3-piece for me that i dont like, it is the very small screwdriver handle… so i got the racheting handle (816RA) for it too

      • Does the 816RA fit into the current screwdriver slot?

        • +1

Negative, it’s twice the length and the width.

          • @zonra: Thanks for confirming. Was planning to replace the screwdriver with the 816RA.

            • @RichardL: I mean, it’s definitely worth having the full size handle. It’s quite nice to hold and use, especially when not on-the-go. I think it’s a no brainer at the current $32 price. It just won’t fit into the kit neatly.

              • @zonra: Already ordered the 816RA (I was the one that posted the deal 😅). Still deciding on the Tool-Check PLUS Bit Ratchet Set though.

  • Pretty good price!

  • ‎15.24 x 7.62 x 2.54 cm

Is that truly the size of the set? Sounds tiny…

    • +6

it is tiny, if you stack 2 iphone 12 pro max on top of each other and then add an inch to the long side, that is how big it is. :D

      • +58

More like a standard piece of white bread, multiply that by 1.673. Add on 3 boxes of RedHead matches, then stack 2 Maggi noodle packets, half a mechanical pencil and 3 grapes, that is how big it is. :D

        • +2

Can we just use banana for scale?

          • +3

@SickDmith: Easy tiger. This ain't Reddit. Don't be dropping all these clever common sense ideas here..

    • Perfect tool kit fory motorbike

      • +1

Thanks for the video link Mr Ferret. The parts on the Ratchet look flimsy, plastic parts and the plastic switch look like poor quality.

        • +4

that's exactly what it is - looks nice but thats about it. Waste of money.

      • Thanks for that link!
I did end up placing an order but its not come up in my history so it might not be honoured anyway… seems some people have said Amazon have told them unlucky pretty much. We'll leave it in the hands of the Bezos deity

  • +1

When i try order it, it goes through then doesn't show in my recent orders…

    • -1

Check which Amazon you used. AU or UK US and make sure you log back into the right one

    • +1

Same issue, tried multiple cards with multiple orders, none of them are working.

    • +1

      Yep same here too

    • And same here as well.

However, online chat just confirmed this

"this is your order ID 250-xxxxxxxx and the order is successfully placed and the status is showing shipping soon.

once it is shipped you will be charged for the order"

      Then, was told
"Please check your orders in order action ,you will be able to see your orders"

    • Thought I was going mad, tried twice to order this, never showed up anywhere.
Then finally today, both orders were cancelled. Damn

  • I previously bought this set Wera 5059297001 KK 62 Kraft Form Kompakt Nut Drivers, 33 Pieces and it's great.

The current $97 price is pretty good according to CCC.

  • egh, I just ordered the Linus screwdriver, this looks good thought,

    • How much did the LTT Screwdriver cost total in AUD?

      • too much :(

        paid using paypal in USD

        Screwdriver × 1
Black and Orange / Black Shaft
        Wave: 6
        Subtotal $69.99
        Shipping $17.99
        Taxes $8.80
        Total $96.78 USD

        • +2

I was interested too, until I saw the price/shipping.

          • @RichardL: I was quite taken back by the cost originally especially for a non-tool company however after watching the Project Farm video and seeing the making behind the screwdriver it really puts into perspective that you're paying for a brand.

My only negative is the bit size but on the other hand by reducing it it added other benefits.

Even when I got my Wera set from the deal I don't see why people would pay $100 for the Wera set.

        • +1

          $96USD? He's dreamin'

        • Contact support if you want to spend more. I did so and added a couple of bit sets to my order after the fact, no increase in shipping.

      • Has any found a good ratcheting screwdriver alternative available locally? Megapros on Amazon are $100+

        • +1

          Williams WRS-1 $73 on Amazon

  • This kit was very very recently, $102

With a 12% discount from the 'buy two' list.
Couldn't find anything else I needed or wanted, so closed tab down and had that restraint.
    Kept.lookimg but I was always $102/$103 etc

Grabbed it now, on its own, without needing to buy anything else to get the discount.
    Thanks!!

  • Good tools.

  • +1

Got one. This is my first Wera.

And so a new addiction begins…

    • +1

      first of many

      • Thanks for the deal OP!

  • +3

Says order placed and then doesn’t go to my recent orders and no email confirmation. Never had this before…tried three times, hope three sets aren’t on the way lol. So weird.

    • Mine did exactly the same thing…tells me its a duplicate order then not showing in order history and no confirmation email.

      • +1

I spoke with customer service and this was the outcome.
Thank you for staying connceted, I've escalated your concern to the higer level and you'll recive the order confirmation form our end Via E-mail Within 5 Bussiness Days.
They said for current price, one item only.

    • Currently trying to contact support about this issue

      • Me too…with no success.

        • +2

Did anyone have success? Ordered twice now, but no order email and they're not shown in my order history. Spoke to CS today and via chat. Spoke to at least 8 people. All poor service and no resolution. My $100 amazon GC I used too is now gone. When i spoke to CS they said i needed to speak to Amazon.co.jp. After a number of chat's and explaining i order from Amazon.com.au and delivery from UK, most chats end with a message technical issue, so and so has left the chat. poor service

    • +1

Contacted support, it seems the item from UK has some issue, either out of stock or price changed. So even order placed, it won't go through. The support is very kind to provide Amazon AU stock for me and will refund the difference between these 2. Even better as it will be arrived tomorrow!

      • +1

lol my rep pretty much told me to stick it

        • +1

Yes me too…AkShat (username checks out) from Amazon Support seemed uninterested in a solution. All they said is they would refund if they charge my card.

          • @klaatu: You guys got prime? I’ve always had A1 customer service.

            • +1

@DingoBlue: Yes I have Prime. That's why this CS was so ordinary, even with my Prime sub.

        • +1

Yeah mine had a look for the transaction and when it wasn't something he could solve he basically just said "See that expected delivery date? Wait until then and see if you get anything".

          Obviously I'm not getting anything.

    • does this mean its OOS?

    • same thing just happened to me. amazon chat said take a screenshot of the price and that they'll honour it, and give them 24-48 hours to fix whatever's going on with the item.

      • I spent ages on the chat with Amazon and at the end they basically said: "I don't know what's going on, wait until the expected delivery date and see what happens". Something is (profanity) in their system WRT this item.

        • ahh ok, maybe check again in the next day or so? i'll try to remember to ping you if i have any luck.

  • +2

This is also a good price now, at AU$ 119.80
-> Wera SA 6 Zyklop Metric Speed Ratchet Set, 28 Piece, 1/4" Drive

    • great price on the zyklop

    • +1

I have this Wera SA 6 Zyklop set and can highly recommended it. Great price at $119.80.

Or this 26 Piece Zyklop set at $96.81 - also in Metric https://www.amazon.com.au/Wera-Zyklop-Ratchet-Socket-Metric/…

      • For the socket set, I prefer to get a proper socket set with matching imperial & metric.

I guess, it's good to have a few small socket heads, as part of the kit.

  • +1

    thanks, OP

Like others, this is the start of my Wera journey 😀

Does anyone suggest one of their bike tool kits?

    • +1

better off with the general sets and adding bike tools as you need

    • +1

Perhaps this Wera set which comes with a carry case and bike accessories for $117.31?

Wera Bicycle Set 3 Bicycle 39 Piece Tool Set, 38 Pieces https://amzn.asia/d/8IxcbTy

    • go for this, it is a great bike kit. The smaller 'bike' kit was cheaper a couple of weeks ago. This has all the bike pieces and more.

  • Bought this a while ago and returned it straight away. Quality isn't there sorry to say

    • What did you get instead ?

      • +1

        Wurth Zebra 1/4 socket set

  • Great piece of kit. I had it as the toolkit for working on my motorbike and to carry on the road as well. Compact size and versatility is great! My casing for it eventually started breaking though but I'm from Darwin and the heat destroys everything. Add vibration from being in my topbox while riding off-road and it lasted way longer than I expected it would

    • What bike. I ordered one for tool kit for my KTM 790

      • +3

It sat in a saddlebag on my gladius when i rode to Melbourne from Darwin. Then rear seat bag on my M109R to Alice Springs and Kununurra. Then it sat in the topbox of my crf250l for about a year getting thrown around inside. The bouncing around in the topbox is what killed it.

  • How long are they?

I'm looking for a long ratchet screwdriver handle type for screwing on the roofracks

  • +2
    • +1

Which do you think is the best? i was considering the sidchrome one

      • Id also like to know..

      • Sidchrome because of the hard case which keeps things clean and dry and the extra extensions and uni joint.
Love the Wera still… but I use it for technician work indoors and it doesn't get thrown around

Edit The hard case is great quality and I keep it with my 12v Milwaukee brushless impact driver.

There's a little extra room in the case for a Hex bit extension which I use for the Allen and Phillips hex drivers and sockets with the included Hex to 1/3in adaptor

      • This from Costco just posted for $30 looks like excellent value

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/731884

    • Yeah, I'd get the sidchrome nano over the Wera set. The 1/4" ratchet will be much nicer to use than the tiny Wera bit holder ratchet.
The sidchrome set is made by Facom in France.

  • Is this made in germany?

  • amazon's down? anyone?

  • +2

Price just dropped further to $89 but ive placed at least 5 orders now that yielded no email confirmation or order history. Have prime, online chat support was responsive but useless because they have NFI what the problem is.

    • This is what the outcome was for me,

Thank you for staying connceted, I've escalated your concern to the higer level and you'll recive the order confirmation form our end Via E-mail Within 5 Bussiness Days.

They said it will be current price for one item only.

    • +1

Yeah, chat wasn't helpful here either. I was thinking of trying again but your experience tells me not to bother.

      • My experience was the same. Chat tried to find the problem, but it's obviously way above their competency level so they just fobbed me off.

        • It was a different experience for me.

First order attempt was missing from history and no confirmation email, as per everyone else here. No funds taken from bank account for this.

Then I called Amazon support on 1800 990 253. Explained the issue with the support agent, and made another purchase while they were monitoring my cart in real-time.

This second order yielded the same result as above but at least it happened while they were looking, again no funds taken. I also sent them a screen shot that showed "Order placed, thanks!"

I was placed on hold for a couple of minutes then the support agent advised this is a known issue and will monitor my account to remove the duplicate order once they their sh1t out (to prevent double payment) and will call me back when its all done.

After the call, I received an email from Amazon support agent confirming our conversation and next steps (as explained above).

    5, 6 and 7mm sockets are useless.

    Should have been 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16 and 17mm would have been an epic set

    • +2

Gonna be hard to generate the required torque on a 17mm nut with that tiny ratchet

      • And a 1/4" hex fitting too. This is a small set for working on small things, if you want to work on bigger things then get a bigger set.

  • I use this kit daily at work. Most used is 7 and 8mm but also 5.5 very often. It's held up well and I use it on every single job as a "pokie tech" been using it for over a year.

  • +1

I'm struggling to understand the attraction for this? It looks like junk. Am I wrong?

    • +5

      WERA make high quality tools

    • +1

Wera is the direct opposite of junk.

  • +3

Word of warning. Once you try WERA you will want to buy more. This is a trap! (Thanks OP grabbed one)

  • Anyone else having issues with purchasing this ?

Order placed. No confirmation email, no item ordered under placed orders, nothing. Don’t think they took money out also. Strange

    • I contacted Amazon and they told me it's OOS - even though it showed in stock on their website.

      Who knows.
