Tidal Monthly: Hi-Fi Arg$99 (~A$0.76), Hi-Fi Plus Arg$145 (~A$1.11), Family Arg$225 (~A$1.80) @ Tidal Argentina (VPN Required)

2130

UPDATE 7/4/23: CONFIRMED STILL WORKING WITH VARIOUS VPNS AND CARDS; SEE COMMENTS

Reposting/reminding that Tidal can also be subscribed via VPN for massive savings. $1.48/month for Hi-Fi Plus is crazy value, with up to 9216 kbps
Master Quality Authenticated (MQA), Dolby Atmos, Sony 360 Reality Audio, and HiFi.

NOTE: If you are having issues with payment method, on the C.C. confirmation page, disable VPN before confirm to pay

Sign up is very easy. Note this works for new accounts only, existing accounts with old AUS subscriptions won't work and will convert to AUD when signing up. Just make a new account with a different email if this is you

1. Turn on VPN to Argentina. (Nordvpn, Surfshark both worked for me. Others likely do too.)
2. Click on deal link to pricing page, or here: https://tidal.com/pricing
3. Ensure pricing shows ARS currency. If not, try a different VPN.
4. Click through registration process on the plan you want. Note if it shows up with $145 in the later steps dont worry, the system clearly means ARS 145.
5. Australian credit mastercard worked fine for me. Trial period is 30 days, so you won't be charged till then anyway.
6. After sign up, you can turn off VPN, verify your email address (email comms will be in Spanish). Sign into your devices and play like usual, without a vpn required.

Please share your experiences with what VPN/cards you used to help others.

If you want to transfer your playlists over from other services, go to https://tidal.com/import-playlist

Hi-Fi plus is usually $23.99/month AUD.

Advice if using family plan as per outofgamut comment: Quick word of warning: when you invite “family” members to the plan they MUST connect to Tidal via VPN to Argentina for their conformation following the invite or they will get rejected. Can then use without VPN following that.

    • Just got an email unable to process your payment but my card details still valid, I am not sure why. HSBC debit card.

Didn't work when I try to submitted it again, do I need to VPN first before re-submit the card details?

      • Tried Visa Debit Card, Visa Credit Card, Master Credit Card, all didn't work.

  • Just signed up to Revolut but the only Mastercard I can set is a double use type. All others are Visa. Any ideas?

  • Wise Visa kept failing to work, signed up for Revolut and temp Mastercard works as of 25/2/23.

  • Revolut's one time use Mastercard doesn't work for me(5553). Macquarie master debit doesn't work either(53xx)

    • I ordered a Macquarie Bank Mastercard Debit Card just for Tidal, it failed the first time I was trying to apply it several days ago (with VPN off or on), but trying again now (with VPN off after getting to the payment page) it's gone through and my subscription is good again. It's a 53XX card. Give it another shot maybe?

  • Revolt 5553 one time mastercard seemed to work on the weekend but now I'm getting emails in Spanish saying there's an issue with my payment details.

  • Can't update the payment, they can't process the payment, in that case I will leave it, nothing I can do. Anyway I am fine with youtube premium

bailed on this back to spotify now - was good while it lasted. (i dont' have a mastercard, nor intend on applying for one specifically for this)

  • Works with Bankwest Platinum Debit , switched from ING which stopped working.

  • Revolut one time working?

CBA Debit card worked just fine then. $1.10 charged! Yipee

    • One question, does it get renewed automatically with that argentian price every month? Or do we need to go on vpn to pay every month? Would one day it'll change payment to Australian price?

      • It's Automatic at conversion rate each month

        • Thanks for the reply. After signing up using VPN, does it keep deducting with the new converaion rate? Or do we need to continue to use the VPN? Sorry im not very technical.

          • @Raymond92: Not working 100% with visa cards. VPN is only needed once.

VPN -> sign-up -> pay with card (Auto saved payment details) -> whatever the rate is it will take it from AUD -> Party time

As of right now Hi-Fi Plus is $145 = $1.05 AUD, that what you would pay this month.

            • @Tollery: Can confirm worked on my end with mastercard. Do you know will Tidal charge the Argentian rate forever? They cant randomly charge us a different currency without telling us right?

              • @Raymond92: They can change only the set currency, the price won't change but the rate might, next month might cost 90c or $1.20. They also can take money out of your bank without telling you but they most likely won't.

  • My subscription using an NAB Visa CC was eventually disabled after receiving the issue with payment details message several times. I managed to resubscribe today using a Westpac Mastercard. It appeared to not accept the new card saying there was an issue with the payment method. However, when I logged into my PC and the Tidal app automatically opened, I saw to my surprise that I had actually been resubscribed.

Tunnelbear and 28 Degrees CC worked. Revolut didn't work.

  • I'm unable to signup using Nord VPN for Tidal Argentina as a new customer. "Unfortunately TIDAL is not currently available in your country"

    Can anyone please help

    • +1

Had same issue with Nord. Had to use TunnelBear. Free download app from Playstore.

      • Singed up and working.
        Thanks

    • Works well with Windscribe and Bankwest Platinum

Confirm to be working via Express VPN using Mastercard

    Cheers OP

  • Not working with Wise credit cards fwiw - Wise have stopped accepting/doing Argentinian Peso. I don't have another Visa or Mastercard so will need to look for some other way I guess.

PS: IMHO beware on 28Degrees - that's Latitude under the hood - danger Will Robinson!!!!

  • Anyone tried this with a ubank (new ubank/86400) visa?

  • None of my card seems to work with this, ING, UBank, Revolut, Wise and even Citi CC. This deal is hard to get IMO.

  • I just signed up with a 28 degrees card. Seemed to accept it but I guess I'll find out after the month trial

  • Just signed up, now to see what happens in 30 days.

  • Strange way I got mine working. I bought a 4 month trial tidal voucher on a site. Created the account using a VPN. Redeemed the voucher and my card details seemed to work. Hopeful the card details work for first payment.

This VPN trick still works as of 28th June 2023 and due to the currency diving even more since this post, it's even cheaper! Managed to get signed up using TunnelBear free VPN using said instructions and Mastercard. Price for Tidal Family Tier Hifi (6 Users) came to AUD $0.58 a month. YES, 58 cents per month!!!!!! No brainer.
