eBay: 20% Cashback (No Cap) on Certified Refurbished Items @ ShopBack » All Comments

  • +5

What about Ebay codes on any items, can then be used on top of this i.e. they are not a voucher or ebay credit?

    • +1

      In particular, PLOCT17?

      • +7

In the previous eBay refurbished deal, ShopBack said that promo codes/coupons will not invalidate the cashback.
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/12731410/redir

Can we get clarification on whether or not that is still the case for this deal?

        • @gotyourback please confirm

          • +1

@d-hunterz: Hey mate, we've checked in with eBay and they've said that the Refurbished range is the same as the rest in that codes that aren't listen on our site will cause Cashback to be invalidated, so best to check the eBay page on our website/app before using one.

            • +2

@gotyourback: I used code "SNSOCT" to buy a refurbished tablet last night, can you confirm if this will invalidate it?
I'm pretty sure there are others on the same boat. I will need to cancel my order if this is true.

              • @graysama: @gotyourback pls clarify this too as I’ve used SNSOCT and if it’ll invalidate then I’m going to cancel my order.

                • +1

@Jaystea: That code isn't listed on our site, so is likely to invalidate Cashback, I'm afraid!

            • @gotyourback: What about PLOCT15 ? Thats from ebay itself but I couldnt' see it on shopback

              • @tkcrule: If the code isn’t listed on ShopBack it’ll invalidate the cashback

            • @gotyourback: HI, Would love to get your feedback from my forum discussion as per link below. As, my over $2k cashback has been rejected.
              https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/741369

      • +3

If can't, i rather get 17% inc gst portion of the price hassle free rather than waiting 60 days to get it out not even getting it.

    • +4

pinging @gotyourback, can we use any codes like SNSOCT?

      • I would also really like to know this - makes the deal a lot nicer

  • Typically Ebay only allow one code per purchase. You can choose which one offers the best discount for your item.

  • +6

This is an opportunity to get Apple Airpods Max well under $500

    • +1

Looks like Mobileciti jacked the prices this morning no doubt when they saw this cash back. The space grey ones I watched last night gone up by $10 🙁Likely same with other colours. Poor form, this cash back costs them nothing 👎

I was looking at this last night at around 2:30am it was still 569 and with the 50 off it would have been 529. but with 20% from the jacked up price of 579 it would be 463.2? is this item eligible? I swear this is a certified refurb not a seller one? can someone explain this for me?

        • +1

As described by OP above, if it has refurbished blue tick in the ad, it is eligible, which is in this case.

          • @Buy2Much: thank you, that's what I was thinking. I wonder if its worth at that price of 463?

            • +1

@SomeBlondeDJ: I don’t have them yet, but they cost less than gumtree prices and you get warranty so may worth a try, if you have been wanting them…

      • Indeed, feels like they’re taking advantage by getting a tad more from the sales they made by jacking their prices

  • +11

This is the Refurbished Section: https://pages.ebay.com.au/refurbished-program/

  • Thank you so much Bargainsgrabber. Just purchased a tablet for my daughters Christmas present. Fantastic deal. Very much appreciated

  • No exclusions, no cap - just Refurb Items under the eBay Refurbished section

The 20% Cashback rate is only eligible on Certified Refurbished products.

so which is it…? does this apply to any refurbished item or only the ones with the "Certified Refurbished" condition?

    • +2

      Only certified refurbished

      • +2

so if a product has the blue tick but its condition is "Excellent - Refurbished" instead of "Certified - Refurbished" then it's not eligible?

      • +2

Confusing as the description of this deal says

This means that the item listing needs to have the blue Refurbished tick on the page.

There's tons of items in the ebay refurbished landing page with the blue tick but varying quality levels of refurbished.

    • +2

There is not 1 IPhone in this category!!!

      • I don't know why it isn't showing up here - but there are definitely refurbished iPhones available. Search for the iPhone model you're after, filter down to refubished and then most importantly, make sure that it has the blue tick that says "Certified Refurbished" as indicated in the description of this deal.

  • -8

    Do not trust shopback tracking.

  • Can get an iPhone 12 pro for about $782 with the right coupon and cashback.

  • +1

Thanks! Got myself an iPhone 13 Pro.

    • +1

I’d check the phone purchased was Certified - Refurbished. Only 2 iPhone 13 pros sold on 23/10 in the Refutbished Category, both were Seller Refurbished condition.

      • +1

Oh right. I got caught out by the post where it says:

The 20% Cashback rate is only eligible on Certified Refurbished products.
This means that the item listing needs to have the blue Refurbished tick on the page.

        Better cancel then.

  • Got a Asus duo, I hope it gets tracked now. Do ShopBack offer cashback guarantee or something ?

  • +4

"Certified Refurbished" - be careful not to get to excited and press buy for "Seller Refurbished" - shopback may decline payment

    • What do you mean? All listings I’ve seen say “tested and refurbished by the eBay seller or a third party” but still have the blue tick.

    • Yeah. Be careful. It says up the top in the post t&c’s.

Any "Seller refurbished" items will not be eligible for this 20% rate.

  • The prices of iphone seems marked up.

  • Any iPhone deals ?

  • +4

No iPhones are part of this deal according to this link: https://www.ebay.com.au/e/_sales/shop-certified-refurbished

    • +2

There's Bait & Switch, then there's Bait & Terms and Conditions

    • It had the tick mate.

  • Just checking if eBay Credit invalidates the cashback?

  • +1

Basically for certified refurbished, only 240 items are eligible at time of post.

  • +1

Did people buy the SONY TV from the last deal get the cashback?

    • +1

      Yeah i did, bought a refurbished X90J.
No issues at all, doesn't look like refurbished.

      • Looks like Sony pull out from this refurbished promotion altogether this time. Their TVs don't have the blue Certified Refurbished tick anymore, only stated as Box Damaged.

  • +1

    There's a whopping 240 items to choose from. /s

  • According to the link only 2 asus phones are included. Is it correct ? Or phones like iphone 13 pro and samsung s22 ultra are included as they have blue refurbished tick.

  • +2

I’m still confused about the eligibility. In the 25% cash back last month, a store rep has posted this:

    “ Absolutely!

This item(ebay.com.au) has "Seller refurbished" in the Condition section, with no blue tick on the listing.
This item(ebay.com.au) has the blue refurbished tick on the listing.

So long as that blue tick is visible, the item will be eligible for 25% Cashback :)”

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/727275

Can a rep from Shopback confirm if it’s the case for this as well?

    • +1

      @gotyourback please confirm?

      • +1

Hey hey, can confirm this is only for verified refurbed goods, so those that have that blue tick.

        • @gotyourback

What is "verified" refurbished that you mention? There does not appear to be such a category pn eBay. Or do you mean the Certified Refurbished specifically, which is just those 238 listing mainly Asus products from Treasure PC Online and Harris Tech and others?

Or any Refurbished Blue Tick which includes a lot more sellers?

Also to the OP @bargainsgrabber, where did you get the info that only Certified Refurbished were valid?

          • +1

@thaiiy: To confirm, we've checked with eBay and any so long as the item is a blue-ticked Refurbed item, it will be eligible. That's what I meant by "verified". "Seller Refurbished" items that do not have the blue tick will not be considered part of this offer.

            • @gotyourback: Can confirm that it does not have to be certified refurbished. I bought a refurbished - excellent iPhone 13 Pro which had the blue tick and I’ve got a pending cash back now for this purchase :)

              • @ClownCar: Hey mate, so long as the item is a blue-ticked Refurbed item, it will be eligible. If you have any trouble come validation time, shoot me a DM and I'll do what I can to help out.

  • A few gaming computers listed. Combined with the PLOCT17 code they seem to come down in price quite a bit.

  • You do have seller refurbished products with blue ticks tho.

  • I guess everyone has bought and pending cashback after using the SNSOCT or PLOVT17?

    • Confused. I thought the T&C says "Purchases made with Coupon / Voucher codes are not eligible for Cashback"?

  • Needed to buy a laptop But this certified Refurbished crap is not helping.

Need a better Cashback deal, hoping Black friday soon, Uncategorized and hopefully uncapped

  • +1

Where are we getting certified refurbished from?! It's listed nowhere on shop back's website, app, or emails. And their push notification said 20% back on any refurb item.

    • +2

I bought Refurbished - Excellent iPhone 13 Pro which had a blue tick. Just got the email that it’s been tracked and I now have a pending cash back.

      • Me too. Bought an ipad Air 2, used discount code for $10 off and got tracking info this afternoon

  • hi rep,
So if we use the ebay Plus $80 voucher, cashback is likely to be voided?

    • Checking this now! Will let you know ASAP.

      • Hi, can you confirm if PLOCT15 or PLOVT17 will void the cashback?

        • Yep, confirmed here, unfortunately not stackable with these codes according to eBay.

          • @gotyourback: Hi rep, what about code PLUSOCT1? Will it stack? Cheers!

            • +2

@docpol: Doubt it unless that code is a "Shopback" code?
OP noted this further up here

              • @Borg: Haha yeah, I was trying to push my luck as was thinking of impulse buying an expensive laptop that I don't really need as my current one is still working fine!

    • +1

Thanks for waiting, eBay have confirmed that eBay Plus vouchers aren't usable to stack with this upsize, I'm afraid.

  • Worth getting?
    Dell Optiplex 7040 SFF Intel i5 6500 3.2Ghz 8GB RAM 500GB HDD DVD HDMI Win 10

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/193916629432

    $158
    - 31.60 shopback
    - 4.50 shopback on $150 giftcard
    = 121.9

  • +1

Can I use the coupon code like this while getting the cashback?
    e.g. SNSMD2F57XGSXXXX

  • I have to order from the website or the ebay app for the cashback to be tracked ? Do i have to click continue to app ?

    • Both work fine! If on mobile, I'd click through to the app.

  • Rep, do you know when this cashback ends? Is it today only?

    • +2

Currently scheduled to be today only. We will likely run more of these in future, but none are confirmed or scheduled as yet.

      • -2

Does this voucher qualify? For Samsung S10e the seller has blue refurbished tick, on the EBay page under the item ‘do you want $10 off?’ Code given MCPAY10V4

        • I’ve already answered to your question below. The store rep has mentioned that any codes that aren’t listed on ShopBack itself will invalidate the cashback

  • Does this voucher qualify? For Samsung S10e has blue refurbished tick MCPAY10V4

    • No. None of the codes will work as they aren't listed.

      • It’s on the eBay page for this phone ‘would you like $10 off this price’ ??

        • Don’t use the code at checkout, otherwise it’ll invalidate the cashback

  • -3

I just love how you ignored all the questions this morning and now state CB will be invalidated if eBay codes are used. Think I will cancel as it’s not that much of an attractive deal without CB. I’m getting sick of these half thought through offers. I’d rather use a code and get 15% off immediately than a ‘possible’ cashback.

    • That question was answered over 4 hours ago here so it may help to read through or just wait for an answer OR just don't use the code as 20% is still better than 15%.
OR as you noted, don't risk and just use the 15% which saves waiting for the CB $$.

      • I was referring to the store rep.

    • +4

I just love how you ignored all the questions this morning and now state CB will be invalidated if eBay codes are used.

I am sure Op has a day job/schedule, not monitoring this post every second to give instant answers LOL. I am sure Op is not a store rep either. They are just doing community service posting up deals that may benefit people. They don't get kick back for their service.

T&Cs at the top does say:
Payment using any type of voucher or eBay credit may result in your purchase being ineligible to earn cashback

So treat it as such and chill until Op or store rep get around to answer. No need to get upset at Op.

    • +8

Hi, first of all I do want to apologise if I didn’t response to any queries from other users in the morning. I did see their comments and I immediately messaged GYB regarding these to ask for a reply to them.

I do have a full time job working as a finance officer at one of the federal departments and OzBargain is just a side hustle that I do (I don’t get paid unfortunately :/) that hopefully helps some people.

As you might suspect, I posts these cashback deals that is OzBargain worthy from ShopBack or Cashrewards at midnight, so that you all will have ample time to look at it and plan it out. This would also give the respective store rep to reply to any comments.

      Hope this helps. Cheers 🍻

      • I was referring to the store rep.

        • All good, I’m sure GYB had other stuff to do while also trying to reply to the comments in this thread

        • +2

Hey mate, I do my best to reply to everyone on here as soon as I see them, including across multiple posts and DMs, as well as other parts of my job. I always do my best to stay attentive as possible, and I'm sorry if the slight delay caused any issues. We do list on our website as well that codes not listed by us will not be valid for use with Cashback, if you're ever in doubt, the info is usually available for you. Always happy to answer anything that might get missed though, but I am just one person and I can't be everywhere at once.

  • today only?

  • -1

Do not trust shopback tracking. If it doesn't track, return your goods. That is the only way. If you start using your goods then you are paying full price. You can not use voucher or gift card for this deal.

    • As stated in the deal description, you can use gift cards as the payment method

Cashback is valid when gift cards are used as a payment method

    • Or simply screen record when purchasing, and submit a claim against the click History. That's what I do and have never had a single one refused for any that have not tracked! Simple.

      • How many claims did you make to shopback that were successful?

        • Thank you for submitting a missing cashback claim.
We have appealed this missing cashback claim with the merchant and found that the merchant has deemed ShopBack ineligible to earn commissions on this transaction which results in us being unable to pass the cashback along to you.
ShopBack awards Cashback on your transactions on the basis that the merchant attributes your order to ShopBack and pays us a commission, they are the deciding party on a sale being attributed to ShopBack.
There are quite a few reasons why these orders may not be attributed to ShopBack. This includes:
          1. If a user clicks on a Honey, Cashrewards, or another chrome extension after clicking from ShopBack
          2. If other web pages (including search sites, social media, store sites, promotional/discount sites) or web browsers are opened after clicking through ShopBack
          3. Clicking through to another page from a banner, pop-up, or advertisement on the store’s webpage whilst shopping
          4. Antivirus/Cleanup or Adblocker applications block or disrupt cashback tracking (Tracking cookies are required to track transactions)
          5. When the order falls under the merchant’s exclusions, including the use of promo codes not listed on ShopBack.
In the meantime, do let me know if there is anything I can do to help or share my best advice on earning cashback. I’d be here to support you whenever you need it.
          Regards,
          Team ShopBack

        • All. I screen record my transactions so it shows/proves everything was legit. In turn proves I met my side of the bargain. The rest is between Shopback and the Merchant. Most are fine though and paid without a claim.

          • @Borg: 1?

            • @CoreJava: I noted "All" i.e. all my claims were successful. Total claims in the last year only x3 but the other 20+ others were paid without issue.
I should note that I also received a canned reply from SB like you did. I replied to it with "Proof" that I met the conditions (a video of the transaction from A-Z). In turn Shopback honoured it and paid.

  • Need another one soon or Bring back the 25%!

  • Thanks to sonny08 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/741369), I just checked and found that my $500+ cashback from Sony eBay was rejected. Anyone else? I followed all T&Cs, will send enquiries and will not let this go.

edit: mine was from a previous deal, now comments closed: (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/727275). But this does not inspire confidence in this one, does it?

    • Same here, I've tagged gotyourback in sonny08's thread, I'd recommend replying there and provide context

    • +1

Same, the valid pending cashback got rejected. No code used and followed all t&c. Started to worry about my account status or eBay's situation now. Theres no point ebay running this 20% promotion if they dont want to honour it. This is not some dessert money we can let it pass but a major/core factor of a large purchase. Please help us GYB!

      • Same here. just checked and it has changed to rejected

  • +1

Leaves a bitter taste being Rejected and losing a big CA$HBACK!
Lets hope its just a mistake and fixed for all of us..

  • Mine's rejected too.
    2 items.
    escalating with them.

  • +2

gotyourback posted a note Here noting that an issue was detected and will be corrected within the next 48 hours.
