What do people use these for nowadays? Considering phones have gone away from sd storage and everyone seems to be backing up data to the cloud. Serious question….
Drones, dash cams and some phones still support SD Card

I use it on my Tapo C320WS Wifi cameras and Dash Cams.
Put tv shows/movies on my tablet when travelling overseas.

I do this as well but the 1TB mSD card for $160 looks like a steal.
I have a bunch of retro hand-held consoles (Ayn Odin, Retroid Pocket 3, etc) and official hand-helds like the Nintendo Switch as well as my Android tablets also use them.
I use this as TimeMachine backup for my MacBook Pro. It's smaller than SSD and I cannot get a USB C 512G USB with the same price.
SD cards arent known to be reliable so I don’t think itd be a good backup medium
better to get portable hdd or even standard hdd
