Damn it…. Just bought it yesterday for $170.

    • +2

me as well… two of them!

      • +1

It is pretty normal. You won't always make a purchase at the best price. Is this the best price ever and with future price-drop protection?

    • Same! And literally at 1am so not long ago.

      • +1

Relax! Some people have spent millions on lotto.

    • Same boat. I contacted Boost support. They told me they can't cancel online orders, but I was given a return authorization number via chat.

      • +1

They told me they won't honour a return as it's a change of mind.

        • You're quite correct. It appears that I was misinformed by 'Montgomery' from Boost support. I'm now stuck with 2 SIMs!

          • @[Deactivated]: I've never trusted 'Montgomery'…

            • @jv: He sure ain't no Muzeeb!

  • +1

SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering.

So, definitely needs to be activated within 30 days? How do they track this?

    • +2

Also wondering about this as I have one service with 38 days remaining. Willing to sacrifice some time to save a lot of dollarydoos.

    • +1

They know the SIM number, they have all the purchase records, they know whether a SIM is activated or not and they know when it was purchased. Everything's linked in their database.

I'm pretty ordinary and even I could mock up all the essential designs and make a working prototype in about an hour.

      • Yeah they have all the data to verify. The question, though, is how strictly is it enforced? Can we push it to 60 days and still be eligible?

        • Funny though, it has been 3 days since the deal came alive and no sign of dispatch…

  • Now THIS is a deal. A great one.

  • +7

My 12 month Amaysim expires 24 Dec hmm…

    • +4

Well, at least you've got 6 days to make your decision!

    • +1

My is 28th Dec…oh the dilemma giving up 1 month of existing plan to get a great new deal.

    • I was hoping to get some Amaysim deal as well coz the leftover data can be rolled over.

      • Amaysim might do black Friday or cyber Monday deal

        • Don't know if Amaysim offers will be for existing customers or not if any. Cant decide if i should pull the trigger on this?

          • @BinnyC: in the past I have been able to get the equivalent deal one way or another through their Chat…sometimes they give the deal sometimes they give credit to my account that makes the deal cost equal to new customers…never hurts to ask the question. Up to you if you want to get this or wait and see with Amaysim

          • @BinnyC: Amaysim has sent $50 off next recharge plus 50gb bonus data. So, a total of 215gb for $150 recharge on a 365 day plan valid till 12 Nov.

Should I pull the trigger or wait for Black Friday. My plan ends forst week of December though.

  • +3

    Still no international roaming.

    • +1

Still option for VoWifi, you're expectation is very high at these price for Telstra MVNO :)

      • +3

Well, expecting what used to be provided, for a lower price, isn't exactly unreasonable.

Boost have been trying to push their prices beyond what the market will accept - and unless they suddenly realise that $150 is the maximum they can charge for this service, I'll be going elsewhere come recharge time.

        • +2

I think they are doing ok.

I’m sure they realise that people are willing to and do pay >$150 for The Telstra network.

Would I move to Optus or Vodafone to save $50. Nope.

        • -7

I’m hoping they raise their prices considerably to kick all the cheap barrel-scrapers off the network. Looking after premium customers is where the profits are

        • Where I live in Australia, only Telstra works. Optus is extremely unreliable, vodafone has no service.

      • If you have Wi-Fi, there are hundreds ways to contact your family and friends, WhatsApp FaceTime etc. When going overseas, the best combination is: Au sim to receive sms and a local sim to have the data in the dual sim phone.

    • +4

they got wifi calling n receiving call n making calls back to Aus is free. think its better than to pay for international roaming packs.

      • Call is not important. Receiving sms is the main issue. You need to receive code sometimes.

    • +1

Would have pulled the trigger if not because of your comment.

  • Aboot time.

  • I need two of these for my parents, so do I do them as separate transactions?

    • Yes.

      • Will it still track if I buy 2 or is it only 1 per customer?

        • It's in the OP.

          "Special Terms
Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions."

  • If I run out of data under the $200 sim plan, how much is it to top up the data and how much data would that include?

    • If you've got a dual sim phone just take advantage of cheap/free sim deals posted on here.

    • +1

If you're esim compatible, can grab a 30 day trial of gomo or Felix to get you over the line.

    • I'm in a similar boat. I'm about to hit 140GB with 6 weeks to go on my $300 SIM.

      • You should have another 100GB or so on a $300 SIM

        • Yeah but the bulk of the extra goes to waste and it's a fair bit dearer.

          • @scottb721: I'm agree it goes to waste, but you're not in a similar boat to rubygoldie. Nothing similar at all.

In fact you're in [insert antonym of similar boat].

I was in a similar boat to you, recharged last week with 80GBs left..

            • @JimB: Sorry, the similar boat I meant was the interest in the cost of excess/extra data now that I'm switching to the 140GB SIM.

    • Hi! You can check out the recharge options on the Boost app or on our website :) https://boost.com.au/

      • +3

Can we use this deal to recharge current 12 month plan?

  • You beauty! Just in time after my Amaysim expires from that crazy cashback!

  • Thanks my Catch 12 month is just running out!

  • +2

This or wait for Amaysim/boost Black Friday deals hmm…

    • What deals did they have last year? Better than this?

    • Amaysim will do better, but for boost this is as low as they ever go. Boost recently increased their costs to distributors so this price will be rare from here on out.

      • I would prefer boost too but I don’t think boost is 2.5 times better than Amaysim if they do a deal similar to last year.

        • I'm on boost and i hate it. Orevioualy in amaysim and it worked so well, particularly for data.

          I live in melb. City.

          • @jecec: What's wrong with Boost in Melbourne? I was with Telstra themselves and had no problems when I visited

            • @orbz: only as good as telstra, perhaps just a black spot / shitty reception.

  • +6

FYI, I used a new $300 Boost SIM to ‘recharge’ my Boost number without porting in and out.

    Straightforward with the help chat.

    • +1

Do explain this? I am a current boost user

      • +1

Contact the support team via chat. Many have mentioned about that before.

  • +3

I’m a current customer, chat just confirmed they’ll activate and transfer my current number to this deal. They originally tried to steer me to the official deals on their website.

    • How would you get the cashback though?

    • i thought we need to transfer to a non-telstra network for a few days and then transfer back to this sim card deal?

    • So you buy the offer via CR then once it arrives contact boost to transfer or can you do it straight away

      • +2

Yup, just chatted with Boost and yeah when you want to activate the new pre-paid sim, just contact them and have it apply to your existing account.
Can keep your existing SIM or you can change to using the new SIM.
So if you want to get your CR, then according to the terms, best to time this so you activate your new kit within the 30days.

    • Sorry I need to know more. I am current boost customer too. I have just bought this deal. When I chat with them, do I tell them I am existing customer and would like to activate the new sim and to transfer my existing number to this new sim? Is this correct? I need to recharge by Nov 13. Thank you.

      • Yup, that is correct. When you want to activate, which will be Nov 13 for you, chat with them and tell them you want to apply the kit's value to your existing account. At that time you will be able to decide whether to use the new sim, or keep using your existing.

If you want to be really sure, you can chat with them beforehand and ask, to give yourself a peace of mind :)

  • @JimB,
For some reason, I am not able to place the order at Boost.. tried changing the cars, email address, mobile phone, name etc,

But it keeps saying 'Sorry. We can not process your order ' error message. Not sure what's worng with my profile. I want this Sim, but due to this recurring issue, can not place the order. Can this be checked please..

    • I have the same problem.

    • @tightarse above FYI..

    • +2

See the Boost Rep's comment here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/12828979/redir

    • Sorry.. Turned out I didn't have enough money in my account… Went through successfully.

    • @satyag Did you resolve the error message? I’m having the same issue.

      • No.. tried all the options.. nothing worked.. sent an email to [email protected].. Hopefully they will fix it soon.. waiting for them to respond..

        • +1

If you get an answer I would appreciate if you could pass it on. Thanks!

  • Is this data only or also minutes?

If mins does it include international mins to UK? I thought they didn't so I've been with amaysim now looking to switch

    • +1

Unlimited mins to UK and lots of other destinations.

      • Thanks.

  • SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering.

That just seems like unfair business practices. What if it gets held up by Australia post flood delay etc?

    • What if it gets held up by Australia post flood delay etc?

Probably can raise that with Cashrewards for further assistance. But I am keen to know if this is enforceable too.

    • That’s the chance you take with cashback — no exceptions

  • I just bought 2 sim in seperate order, cashback tracked immediately. Thanks.

    • +1

      Awesome! :)

  • +1

Can I use this if I m using belong now?

  • +6

Boost rep hinted at a better offer come Black Friday on a deal posted about a month ago. Not sure if I should pull the trigger or wait…

    • +2

I am thinking the same. My current plan expires in January but i am happy to go back on boost. Vodafone sucks in my area.

      • +1

Can't wait to get off catch connect myself.

    • +3

      The link to that comment

  • +1

When is boost going to launch Apple Watch plans ?

    • +1

No specific plans or dates on that yet, but we're working on it.

  • Does it have 5g

    • Yes! Boost uses full Telstra 5G network, currently covering 75% of the Aus. Check out our coverage map to find out more. https://boost.com.au/pages/coverage

      • +3

        Isn't Boost's 5G only under a "trial period" now,
and expected to 'end' in November 2022 ?

  • Cashrewards website down?

    • Yup! You need to have a 5G device. Boost uses full Telstra 5G network, currently covering 75% of the Aus. Check out our coverage map to find out more. https://boost.com.au/pages/coverage
