Update: I have received my gift card purchased at 9:13am and when I clicked on the link called “View Gift Card”, it brings me to the Blackhawk website that shows JB on the Ultimate Thanks gift card image. It’ll make you go through myprepaidcentre website to activate and save your card to your account

    This is a doggy company based on the experience of previous Amazon sales. There is NOT WAY to activate the card via their app, which has been failed for more than a year.

    You lose your money since the moment of purchasing a card.

    CALLED 1300304990 and 1800 862 126, not help at all. the lady over the phone said it is unlikely to process a refund. So a doggy company at all for both ultimate gift card company( blackhawks which is based at north sydney nsw) and giftcards.com which is under coles group.

    highly recommend calling 1300 304 990 (coles’ gift card team). they’re gathering a list of everyone who is affected and sending a report to management. person I spoke to said worse case scenario will be a refund.

    Since the gift card has been added to my Google Wallet, I've added it as a payment method (card) to my Deliveroo account. Does that mean I can't make an order worth more than the remaining balance? Will it take the remaining from another card?

      I know that it's not exactly the main highlight of this comment section, but I thought I'd update anyone that is curious. So, it turns out that you can exchange your card balance for Deliveroo gift cards, which can be treated as such.

        A bit late but this Ultimate is like prepaid visa. U can use directly but has to cover the full balance as most website (like Deliveroo) doesn’t allow split payment with multiple cards. However as u said, u can convert it into specific merchant giftcard for some shops listed, and in case of Deliveroo, it’d just become balances (and yes, u then can mix payment between balances & 1 card to cover any shortfall)

    Guys do a chargeback on your credit/debit card against the giftcards.com.au.

    Also here's where you submit an ACCC False Advertising Claim against Blackhawk Network and also their Google reviews link.

      Another option is to complain to AFCA.

      The Ultimate gift cards in this deal are issued by Heritage Bank (which has been contracted by Blackhawk Network to provide some services in relation to the Ultimate gift card scheme), which is a member of AFCA. Blackhawk Network is not a member of AFCA, so you cannot raise a complaint against them.

      No idea whether that would work, but it is definitely worth a shot!

        Its not a financial complaint, its about misleading advertisement, so complaint should be for ACCC. Also AFCA is an industry body with reps from their members and is usually toothless and wont do anything. Complaining to ACCC or your local Fair Trading Commission would be far more useful for getting these dodgy groups in line.

        If you ask any industry, they will tell self regulation is the best form of regulation :rofl:

    Guys I suggest follow the below steps

    1. Lodge a complaint on ACCC site for misleading advertisement and attach the screenshot provided by @Renegade
    2. Also attach the screenshot from Apple Wallet as it still shows Jb Hifi logo

    3. Lodge a chargeback with your bank and provide the below reason

    - The goods and services purchased were not as described or defective
    4. Once you lodge a chargeback request, the issuing bank i.e. your bank will chargeback the trxn on your behalf, and acquiring bank will raise it with merchant and merchant will not only have to refund the funds but will cop additional fees and charges associated with chargeback

    So slap this dodgy company with ACCC action and make them go through the chargeback process which will cost them more money and time

            @hybridx: Thats true. They never hid away from the fact they can change retailers at any time. Being physical is just less often. Mainly more retailers coming on such as Officeworks and others taken out to swap allegance such as Ultimate to Card Network from the super group.

      At the start of the deal, the gift cards included coveted retailers such as JB Hi-Fi and The Good Guys. Myself and a lot of people bought gift cards with the intention of using them on these retailers.

      Not long after, and once quite a number of people had purchased the cards, Ultimate Gift Cards decided to pull the both JB and TGG from the list of retailers, making the gift cards kinda useless.

    Girl said they’re all void but you need to call and supply your order numbers to be refunded. Expect it to take 2 weeks for the whole process to happen.

    Just called and spoke to the lady on 1300304990 as I bought some EATS cards to see if they were also being pulled off/not working . Lady told me EATS were working fine it just the JB and TGG that’s were pulled off and they are working closely with giftcard.com.au ..the lady was good and said she also bought few JB HIFI and find it terrible for the company to pull it off ..but she did indicated they will be fully refunded or might be put back again15 % so people can use them again ..hopefully it will give a bit of relief to the people who bought them .

          Apparently if you asked for refund, you will get the refund. As the cards have been cancelled.

          That’s what the customer rep told me. There’s no way to undo that.

            @spc12go: depends when you asked and how far along the refund process your cards are. some cards are cancelled already, they will be refunded. some cards are only suspended, these will probably be unsuspended for us to use. suspending has been occurring for the past day and a half (ish). could take just as long to unsuspend if not more since its the weekend

      Go JB website to buy gc. Then enter your ultimate gc details in payment info. Dont enter in the gift card section but in the payment section for visa/mastercard etc. It is recognised as visa.

    I purchased 10 x Ultimate Thanks gc on Wednesday and can only successfully redeemed one for JB gift card. Thought it was just before they blocked JB as an approved retailer.

    Called 1300304990 on Wednesday and was asked my invoice#, then the gentlemen told me to wait for the refund. Nothing happened so far.

    I tried to redeem the Ultimate Thanks on JB website but got declined on a few cards.

    Called 1033304990 again just now, and the lady on the phone was just telling me the head office is processing the refund, and all the gc purchased on Wednesday morning will be refunded as I was gold. She did not ask my invoice# at all, but just said the refund process will probably take 1-2 weeks.

    What the F!

      Funnily, while I was watching YouTube on my phone, suddenly apple wallet says my card is activated successfully, from being suspended earlier today. Dodgy dodgy!
