      • I tried again and it looks like the way……Now I'm confused.

Can anyone confirm whether the card added into Apple Wallet can be used in JB store?

  • +1

I managed to add the remaining 5 cards to Apple Pay about 30 minutes ago. Noticed the cards now don’t have JB Hifi logo any more. Went straight to JB to buy Apple gift cards anyway. Fortunately all 5 got redeemed in store successfully. What a relief to finally get rid of all these Ultimate cards.

I’d suggest those who managed to add your cards to Apple Pay or Google Pay to go to JB or TGG asap and spend the cards straight away in store (because online is just too unreliable judging from peoples experience here) before they get rendered useless again.

  • I got msg today that

Ultimate card is ready for Apple Pay

  • Good News Guys - https://www.ultimategiftcards.com.au/card/thanks/

JB Hifi is back now :)

    • Not so good news for people that may still want the cards but can't because they were cancelled for requesting a refund that can't be reversed after the original stuff around.

    • Thanks mate for letting us know.

      Great news!

      Still a dodgy company though!

  • Looks like the Ultimate Thanks gift cards that have been added to Apple Wallet, can not be used on JB website……..

    Oh too much trouble……

  • Can't seem to buy JB hi-fi gift cards online with them still. Orders sometimes go through but get cancelled. Doesn't seem like JB has been unblocked.

Edit: just succeeded with one. success rate is 1 of 2

  • Looks like the MyPrepaidCentre website has crapped out. I can't login or register any cards :/

    • Not able to login but one which is on apple wallet worked for me.

  • Can we buy JB hifi gift card using these cards - via apple pay online ?

    • Theoretically yes, though I just tried checking out with the Ultimate Card using Apple Pay and still had my transaction cancelled by JBHiFi. I would say it's their fraud detection software (Riskified) that is flagging it as fraud and not letting it through.

      • What about in store ?

  • This has been a bit of a nightmare, picked up $1k worth of cards. First issue, the sheer amount of time to actually redeem the card and get it into MyPrePaidCentre. I think I have verified my email about 60 times. I have filled out my details on every single card, and then have had to verify email again when wanting to add it to my account.

Managed to get 2 cards converted to JB HiFi gift cards, all further transactions are being cancelled. Haven't been able to add the cards to ApplePay at all, just says that they are invalid.

Called GiftCards.com.au yesterday and they just said they will raise it with management, haven't heard back since. Blackhawk Network would have to have the worst platform/systems I have ever seen, I'm amazed they make any money if they operate legitimately.

Update: Have managed to add cards to ApplePay now, but a test with checking out with ApplePay on the JB site still got my order cancelled after initial confirmation.

    • How long it will take normally to receive actual jb gift card after receive JB order confirmation email?

      • First gift card came through 26 minutes after the order was confirmed

  • how do you tell whether the cards are suspended or not?

i can see them on the MyPrepaidCentre, and was also able to add them to Google Wallet, but tried to purchase gift card online with JB but only getting declined. so kinda trying to work out whether its worthwhile popping into a JB in store tomorrow given this still?

    • +1

Yeah, it works ok in store, after my card being reinstated. Just purchased $100 Apple gift card, no worries tap and go.

  • Hi everyone,
A good new that is if you are intending to take a purchase with JB Hifi, you can go to direct the store and pay with multiple cards via Apple Pay or Google Pay.
I have just taken all my cards to buy iPhone and without any problems or questions.

Don't waste your time with JB Giftcard online, as the order will be cancelled again and again because of the machine verification process of JB.

    • the order will be cancelled after receiving order confirmation email or before that?

      • You will just receive a cancelled order email if it is cancelled

        • I received order confirmation email and order status is "shipped" but no gift card come through.

          • -1

@ozmaxz: If you received an order confirmation email that means the order was successful. In my case, I received e-giftcard email after 30 minutes.

            • @bargain grabber: thanks. I will wait e-gift card arrive and buy next one..

              • @ozmaxz: You can use utimate giftcard to pay directly in-store via Apple Pay or Google Pay. Don't need to buy JB cards.

              • @ozmaxz: The online JB eGift card its like a lottery, it will work ok for the first then when you try to buy the 2nd one in a short time, say less than 1 hour from the first, the system will triggered and just cancelled your order. But I waited for at least couple of hours then I managed to get the 2nd worked, then the changes made by UGC to remove JBs and I panicked trying to convert the rest and ended up "blacklisted" via online. But check out fine in-store earlier this evening.

                • @cloudie9: thanks for the info. store is already closed now. I try to convert as many as I can, and use the rest of them tomorrow.

    • how many can you add onto apple pay?
for samsung pay, it maxes out at 10 cards total

      • I added 17 cards onto Google Pay

        • for some reason I am getting an error when trying to add cards into google pay

          • @googoogaga: If you have a problem with a specific error code when trying to add cards onto google pay. That is an issue of google service and need to contact google support to fix it. So, I am not sure what error you have.

    • Hi,
Can we buy the gift cars in Store using Ultimate Gift Card? Wondering if JB HiFi can issue 1 x $500 instead of 5 x $100 gift cards

      • +1

I did it before. Depend on the staff though whether they’d be willing to help. But the system would allow that

  • I have just used all the ultimate gift cards at jb hifi store and all worked ok. Even i requested for refund but was successful in using the cards before refund.

  • Can you just read out the card numbers in store or do you need to load them on to Apple Pay? I’ve got 19 but the wallet maxes out at 5…

    • No, strictly need to be on Apple Pay or Google wallet.

  • what a piece of dogsh*t.

purchased 7 giftcards, managed to add 5 to my prepaidcentre wallet, when i try the other two they say registered but can't open, no email etc.

Also can't add any to google wallet as says error code.

    • I was able to add my all 10 gift cards to my Apple wallet this morning without error messages.

  • Final update. I went to a store today and used all of my gift cards. I was able to do 10 via Apple Pay and the rest I just manually entered the card number, expiry and ccv in to the machine. Used it as a credit card and just signed. Easy.

  • People that requested refunds might want to try and use their cards again. I requested a refund and had my cards suspended, but they are now working today.

    • Yes, me too. Everyone can check the status of cards in the wallet now. If you don't see the suspended status, it means you can use them now.

  • Anyone know if there’s a way to fix the apple wallet issue with the cards. Once you added the 5 cards, you can’t add anymore cards. Even after you delete the 5 that you have added previously. It still won’t let you add anymore.

    • I found, it can only take 5 at max. I had 20 cards used 2 iPhones and 2 apple watches for them. Which is inconvenient. But worked.

      • I removed the previous cards but still won’t let me add anymore

        • You can manually enter the numbers in to a terminal. Just make sure it’s a credit transaction and you’re good. I did it today.

          • @LittleTicket: Thanks, didn’t want to annoy the register person and people waiting after.

          • @LittleTicket: I asked the checkout person at the JB i went to if they could put it through manually and she said no. Sucks for me. 40 min drive to attempt again.

    • What is this 5 cards limit? I have 5 thanks and 7 home cards in Apple Wallet.

      • Wow, that must be a record. I did it on a few phones, and I reckon most on 1 device could do is 5 or 6 (removing doesn't help). Also, the error becoming ridiculous after that, almost seems like random: invalid card, can't connect to applepay, no internet (while I'm on 4/5g), can't connect to provider, issuer not accepted, etc

        • Thank god I never faced these type of issues.

Total cards in my apple wallet are: 15 payments including 12 Ultimate cards,
          3 cc/dc
          5 reward cards and
          47 expired tickets/cards :)

          • @MrBeast: That's why I prefer physical card I can swipe at the checkouts. Means less clutter in my phone.

            • @t25: Its handy in phone as well and you don't have to enter pin or anything and its quite easy and you can remove used cards.

  • Does anymore know how long does it take for the cancelled jb hifi online order to be refunded? It’s been more than three days, and the status of the card is still pending.

    • This is also annoying me. One of my cards it is still pending. Have you have any luck?

      • Still pending from 26th

        • The pending charge has now gone, hope yours has too

  • Just thought I'd share my thoughts on some developments over the last few days for this shitshow:

    1. JB Hi-Fi has been relisted as one of the retailers on the Ultimate Thanks gift card. However, you won't be able to buy multiple cards on their online store. From my conversation with a HJB Hi-Fi rep, using multiple gift cards in quick succession will flag it on the system which automatically cancels your order. I've been trying to purchase JB Hi-Fi gift cards with them and it just automatically cancels now. Only managed to get 3 gift cards before it was flagged on the system.

    2. Your best bet is to add it to your Apple/Google/Samsung wallet and buy it in store.

    3. There is an ongoing issue where you can't add the cards to your Apple/Google/Samsung wallet. I'm using an Apple wallet and all I get is a "Could not add card" error and tells you to contact the card retailer. 6/10 of my remaining cards can't be added to wallet.

    4. Sometimes you get lucky and you can add the cards to the wallets but it's very much a hit or miss. I've already tried it on multiple devices (i.e. iPhones and iPads) and they've all failed so far.

    5. JB Hi-Fi will not take the Ultimate Thanks gift card unless it's added to Apple/Google/Samsung wallet. You can ask them if you can key it into the eftpos machine but 95% of the time they'll say no.

    6. I've spoken with several Ultimate Gift card and Blackhawk Network (the owners of Ultimate Gift Card) reps and they said they're aware of the issue of not being able to add cards to the Apple/Google/Samsung wallet. They're looking into it now but can't give an ETA as to when it will be fixed. One of the reps let slip that the issue has been going on for more than a week.

Tl;dr - If you're experiencing what I am going through, you just have to wait and hope it'll be fixed.

    • I purchased JB gift cards, $100 at a time. Works fine.

      • Online via apple pay or Store?

  • Just received an email officially from Coles GiftCard that confirming reinstatement of JB Hi-Fi to THANKS and The Good Guys to Baby & Mum card. They offer options for full refund if still required.

  • Just received an email, JB and TGG have been added. So yeah, good deal.

  • Just sharing my experience here, if you have a "Card was declined" warning on the JBHifi site when buying digital gift cards, you can go in store and purchase physical gift cards using your Apple wallet or Google pay. A little peeved that I had to go in to resolve this issue but at least I have all of mine converted now and can rest easy.

    • That's because they'd refund it after few minutes. Happened to me too this morning with the physical version of it. When I checked the balance just after it was declined, it's saying 0 balance with pending JB online transactions on it. Then about half hour later when I was about entering the store, I checked again, and it's restored back to the full balance. I still went ahead to swap with JB card in-store though, rather than having a headache with this ultimate card.

      • how many cards did you exchange instore?

        • 2 (1 with the declined card that I tried online). I "swapped" it with 2x $100 JB, paying separately. I found that's easier than asking for split payment and have to explain why. If ur not in a hurry, I'd suggest do 2-3, rather than doing 10 at once

          • @hanofee: Did you swipe the card or store it in ewallet? May i know please what did you tell to JB Hifi Staff?

            • @ivyholmes: Swiped. I just said I want 2x $100 giftcard, but want separate receipt. They don't usually ask if u only do 2 or so

              • @hanofee: Great i'll do this trick next time!

                • @ivyholmes: I did one online today and got gift card in 30 mins

                  • +1

@MrBeast: Nice. It's similar principle I guess. When u do 1-2, it's probably fine. Doing a lot & in a short span, is the action that will trigger the alarm.
