LG C2 65" Self Lit OLED EVO 4K Ultra HD Smart TV $3066 + Delivery @ Stan Cash

810

Not the all-time lowest (sub-3K) from the July deal, but I decided to pull the trigger. Have 28 Degrees card to price match anyway when the Black Friday deals come. I actually just used this to price match with JB Hi-Fi and order it from there.

LG OLED65C2: Key Features

  • α9 Gen 5 AI Processor 4K with AI Picture Pro & AI Sound Pro provides unmatched audio/video processing power
  • Self-lighting OLED for perfect blacks, intense colour, and infinite contrast
  • Dolby Vision IQ and Dolby Atmos for immersive sound
  • Easy to manage via its webOS + ThinQ AI w/ Magic Remote
  • Compatible with G-SYNC, FreeSync, VRR, and ALLM for an optimal gaming experience

Now to stop looking at QD-OLED, avoid buyer's remorse, and enjoy the purchase. Or maybe think about upgrading the audio experience.

Thanks for sharing. Do you remember what was the all-time lowest?

  • +1

    I'm still waiting for BF

  • +4

Just remember for those that sail the seven seas… no DTS! Other than that, I'm still loving my 65" C1 from last years BF deal.

    • What's dts?

      • +1

Type of audio codec, personally haven't found it to be a big issue as most streaming services use DD+ or Dolby Atmos, and if playing from a Blu-ray then hopefully plugged into an AV Receiver that supports DTS

  • -4

If you're in Melbourne and not into next gen gaming you can save $600 and get nearly the same experience with this

    • What makes the Philips not good for gaming?

      • -4

It's equivalent to an LG CX - basically all TVs pre-2021 don't have HDMI 2.1 and VRR to support 4K@120Hz (which I really don't see the point of anyway since most games won't attain that and it's overkill). I have absolutely no use for that because I only have a Nintendo Switch.

        • Lg c9 has hdmi 2.1 and 120hz vet

          • -1

@onlinepred: Hmm interesting, and they added VRR through a software update. Oh well, my point still stands about gaming on the Philips.

        • +1

          Thanks. I do game, but I don't need 4K 120Hz.

    • -1

Same panel as the cx but different processor that can make a hell of a difference, like the Sony vs LG when they both have a Sony panel for example…

      • -4

Watched the review I told you to watch a week ago? Vincent at HDTVTest is no paid shill. I'd stop with the hypotheticals and look at reality.

        • -1

I think your the Phillips shill keep telling yourself that Phillips is just as good as a 3yo lg panel… awkward

          • -3

@solidussnake: Ah, yeah it is (and it's 2 years old, I know counting is hard). Compare the performance and outputs of the CX and C2 panels at Rtings, then compare HDTVTest's reviews of the colour and motion processing. Perhaps you're annoyed you dropped over $5K on a one size increment upgrade?

The deal speaks for itself. Your neg doesn't. A deal doesn't have to be for everyone, but for anyone on a budget (or who doesn't want to pay 23% more for no good reason) the Philips fits the bill and I only had good faith motives in making the post based upon my experience with the product.

            • +1

@Techie4066: How about you post the link to the C2 and the Ambilight comparison and go from there.

              • @KangaDrew: Check the rtings link above for the panel comparison,
                Philips
                LG

(All these panels are basically the same)

The choice is up to you! Just putting an option out there. All the LG loyalists have come out to play it seems, disappointing for a bargain forum to see people turn their backs on better value alternatives if it fits your needs.

  • Stan who?

    • Textbook hippy man

  • +1

i got a c1 from jb hi fi for $2500 delivered and with extra warranty , not sure this one is worth the extra $500 but real happy with c1

    • It’s worth the extra $$$$

    • +5

It is when there's no C1's around anymore

  • +1

The 77" is $5,544 there btw too

  • The Samy 75" QN90B Neo QLED 4K is around $2700 after 30% discount code.

    • thats not oled

      • It’s not OLED but you are getting a larger size and the quality is just as good IMO.

        • +1

well yeah, theres plenty of larger tvs cheaper

          • -1

@botchie: I’ve got the 65” Sony OLED and the Samy above (both similar prices).
If I had to choose one, I would pick the Samsung one due to the larger size.
Picture quality are great on both, but you would get better value with the Samsung one.

            • +1

@congo: I was pretty set on the Neo QLEDs, esp since screen size was my main concern… until I found out about the panel switching drama i.e. VA vs IPS.

Stunned to see someone compare it to a Sony OLED, even if it is a lower model, the blacks and the blooming on the Samsungs did my head in. This was the previous year models i.e. A… but i doubt they improved it much if at all 🤷🏾‍♂️

              • @neezy: The QN90B 2022 model is VA panel.

                • @congo: that's what I thought too with the QN90A 😅

            • @congo: I got the QA75QN90BAWXXY which is the 2022 model.
Didn't realise or notice the VA vs IPS until you mentioned it.
From the picture quality it looks great!

        • +1

Not if you prefer your blacks to actually be black.

    • What discount code?

    • Where?

You have to ask the sale rep for discount code.

        • I've only ever been told 15% through chat, what did you say to get 30%? Thanks

          • @The Taco: I got 15% for appliances, but 30% for the TVs. Maybe try a different rep?
TV was $2799 to be exact. Great value for 75"

        • Thanks, this worked for me - i got JB to drop the price to $3k before seeing this and just cancelled my order and went with the Samsung store.

I also kept the wife happy and got a 55" frame for the bedroom!

          Thanks heaps!

    • Yes. Bought it for $2799 also received 10% samsung online store credit with purchase. Absolutely killer deal with 12 month of 28 degree price protection!. Asked JB, binglee, good guys for price beat but couldnt. they were shocked with the price.

      • How did you get it down to that price? I asked the customer service but even after applying a 30% discount, it was still about $3500.

I think for $600 more you're better off getting the LG G2 65" when it goes on sale. I picked one up from the good guys for $3650 less than two weeks ago. Got like $120 cashback as well from Shopback.

  • This or s95b….

    • +4

      A95k -> S95B -> G2 -> C2

      • only 2x 2.1 ports kills the A95k

        • -1

Not really. If you are spending A95K type cash you will likely have an AVR and then you plug your stuff into that.
I have an AVR and proper speaker setup so I don't give a crap whether the A95K has "only" two HDMI 2.1 ports.

  • The latitude 28 degrees card hasn’t offered price protection insurance for about 3 years I thought, unless you are lucky enough to be on an old grandfathered policy

  • -2

These prices for the C2 are joke considering what the C1 was going for and by all accounts the C2 is a downgrade in quality over the C1.

    • +1

      🤨 show working please 😅

    • Lol
      Thanks for your opinion

    • Different price cycles wait till black friday or wait until they go EOL and they prices will drop again

  • Showing as $3,619.00 for me…?

    • +2

Looks like they just updated the price. Marking as expired. Cheers.
