Oppo Pad Air has a Snapdragon 680 FYI. My previous experience with Snapdragon 600 series chips has been shite. If you're just using for media consumption though, probably does the job.

This is the fisrt Oppo tablet in Australia. I'd be interested to see how it runs. I love my Oppo Find X3 Neo

    • It would probably feel especially slow since you would also have a snapdragon 888 in the phone.

    • +1

Snapdragon 680 is essentially SD660/662/663/665 overclocked and on newer node to be more energy efficient, so expect similar performance.
SD690 or 695 would be leaps and bounds over them, being closer to 750/765 in performance.

Good deal but what would make this a great deal if they threw in the Oppo Enco X2 earbuds

not even the pro model at this price

  • +1

How's Oppo software nowadays? Still a deal breaker for these phones I assume?

Been using my x3 pro for nearly a year now, no issues. Came from a Pixel and no regrets, would buy again.

The x5 pro has previously been $1199. Personally I wouldn't pay $200 extra for the "free" tablet in this deal.

The Oppo Find X2 neo I had was a solid phone for its time and the Find X5 looks to be the same - however, I managed to get the X2 Neo for $750 so it's hard to say that this is worth almost double. There's a lot of competition at that price point!
The free tablet and cover will have very little resale value either.

I bought it for $800 from Bing Lee a few weeks ago, amazing phone for that price but I wouldn't pay over $1000 for it.

    • Hi mate, great to hear you got it for 800$, if you don't mind..Can you pls share the invoice.

      Ta

      • Can I ask why? Are you gonna try and price match?

      • Just checked my receipt and it was $900, my bad.

  • Pad didnt get a good write up here https://www.gsmarena.com/oppo_pad_air-review-2489.php

    • Yeah it reads like a $300 tablet not a $500 one. Given it's free with the phone then it's hard to complain, but I would have thought Oppo would want to put their best foot forward, not by giving away something sub standard with a flagship phone.

      • The tablet retails from oppo direct for $379 delivered, so can't expect too much, it is a budget tablet.

  • +3

    Non-Pro.

    Pass.

    • Didn't even notice this was non pro version. No deal, wasn't even a deal if it was pro version.

  • +1

Refund phone and keep free pad

  • +1

Would just get a legion y90 $800, or pocos f3-4 $500 and save the rest for the upcoming 30% electricity bill coming up.

  • +1

Got the pro. Wouldn't recommend besides charging

    • Charging seems to be the only real differentiation. Who really cares about a ceramic case..

      • Checked gsmarena and this supports fast charging 80W and hard a 4800mah battery so description is wrong.

  • +1

    It's 3599 RMB (8g 256g, 17%tax included) wouldn't pay more than $700.
