MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI AM4 mATX Motherboard $139.99 + $7 Delivery ($0 BNE C&C) @ KiwiGuy Computers Australia

150

Hitherto unknown retailer, but seems to be real.

This seems like a reasonable price for a budget B550 motherboard in 2022. It may or may not work with 5000 G-series CPUs out of the box, but it supports USB BIOS flashback, so you won't need an older CPU to update it.

Reviews on NewEgg and Amazon are mixed.

Shipping was $7 to metro Melbourne.

Looks legit, 13 left in stock

This board has the same VRM configuration as the B550M Bazooka which is excellent for 65W TDP and lower CPU's (max 5700X)

Some people are even running 5800X3D and 5900X setups with it

  • Probably need BIOS upgrade =] But hell yeah a nice deal

  • nice deal but never heard of this seller. Hope Amazon can match the price.

If you're a bit nervous on the seller, next cheapest looks like Centre Com at $159: https://www.centrecom.com.au/msi-b550m-pro-vdh-wifi-am4-matx…

I think they do free shipping to metro areas? It's free shipping to my place in Melbourne at least.

IIRC this was a well regarded board in Hardware Unboxed's round up of B550, best price to VRM performance

  • this is one of the boards that i want to get, however i always see some bad reviews about them coming faulty, not working sometimes and so on. I know the majority says its good but those that says its not dont seem to be lying. Anyone got any thoughts?

I put a B550m Bazooka in the kids pc for the grand price of $89 from shopping express last year.
Looking for another B550 board for a cheap build, AM5 boards to expensive still, and it's hard to find anything under $100 this year.

Yeah the halcyon days of retailers flogging off cheap motherboards they were forced to buy tons of to get access to rare GPUs are over (for the time being at least). I got a Gigabyte S2H for $49 I think (might have been $59)

Upvote for the deal. And the champagne usage of the word, "hitherto"…

  • I'm happy to report the seller came through with the goods - mine arrived today. Unfortunately the price has since gone up by $5.

    • Did it mention on the box if it was 5000 ready?

Sorry, I didn't check. I used the flashback button to update to the latest BIOS before I put in the CPU.
