TCL 65C635 65" 4K QLED Android TV $899 (Bonus $100 TCL Cashback) @ Costco (Membership Required)

730

Edit: The cashback note in the picture shows the Item number 136626 which is the same as the TV item number however it shows the model number as 65C725 whereas the TV is 65C635. I have spoken to the Costco staff who said it could be a typo but confirmed it has the cashback and promised to sort it out if the cashback doesn't go through. So anyone buying the TV , please talk to the Costco manager/Supervisor and get them to agree before walking out of the store. I have checked the TCL Page and they have an entirely different number 65C715 and as usual doesn't list coscto as a participating retailer.Binglee also have this TV advertised for $100 cashback so i suppose it should be fine.

      For it's price, seems good.

Doesn't get bright enough for dolby vision (1000 nits over a small segment), but does do hdmi 2.1 and VRR for console / PC higher fps, though lag is just ok at 15ms, which isn't too bad tbh imo. As it's a VA panel, viewing angle isn't great either, but if for one or two viewers, no worries.

I think if you're after a budget room for a non bright room, go for it!

      Seems a decent review:

      https://cybershack.com.au/reviews/tcl-c635-qled-tv-a-winner-…

      • This seems way too cheap for a 4k@120hz VRR tv??

        • I guess it's where the market is at for these specs and budget brands.

Cant go wrong at this price really…

          • @teereb: Yeah I was looking at the C835 in a 65 or 75 inch. But this is waaaay cheaper!!!

            • @Jacobakaclarence: Depends on what you're going to use it for I guess!

MiniLED in the 835, compared to qled in the 635 (zone dimming vs pixels off kinda deal)

        • The review says 2k@120Hz? Don't see 4k@120Hz.

Nice price how much is Costco membership?

Wonder if can price match somewhere

    • +1

Join and cancel after? You cancel the membership anytime even its a few days before expiry - terms and conditions

      • So you don't pay upfront?

      • You'll probably not get your money returned , should check that first don't you think ?

    I have a 43” TCL

Android is a little laggy but great value for $$

At this price it’s a steal

  • +7

This might've been worth considering if it didn't have that ugly silver bezel circa 2003

    • +1

We used to have those in the late 1900s

      • +8

"Late 1900s" makes me feel uncomfortably old

  • There was also a Toshiba OLED, guessing this is better due to 120Hz?

  • +1

I have a TCL…. Love it!!! Not affiliated with either Costco or TCL

    • How old is your tcl?

I've had bad luck with all my TV's, I recently bought a Hisense because of 3 year warranty thinking if it doesn't break by then it will last. The tv died on me last week couple months after warranty expired 🤬🤬🤬

      • +1

Weird. Check your incoming grid voltage with your elect supplier. Ive never had a TV die..ever. All cheapies (sony was a hand me down).

Rank Arena, Omni, Sony, Chinese Alibaba TV, Voxson, Panasonic. 10 years minimum each.

P.S. 2 months outside warranty should still get over the line if you ask nicely. Im guessing ACL would expect a TV to last 3 years minimum.

        • I asked, they said to provide proof of purchase. Sent them all details it's been few days haven't heard anything yet.

I've had Sony Bravia, 2 Samsung's and now the Hisense all have had issues.

Pretty sure electric supply is good. Tv in lounge is 10+ years still going good surprisingly

          • @Bretttick: Ok, what about your backlight setting. They are notoriously over driven. Our lounge has a large north facing window. Very bright room, but backlight only needs to be at 45%. Turn brightness up, backlight down (they are different things).

            This gives the benefits of:
            Heaps better blacks.
Uses 60% less power (our TV uses 45watts…it's rated at 120w).
Longevity. Never had a TV die..ever.

            • @tunzafun001: Can't see anything TV has black very faint light blue colour only noticable at night, otherwise black screen.

I tried shining flashlight/phone to see if I can see any picture with screen on, nothing.

I suspect either power board/ tcon fail

              • @Bretttick: I meant turning down the backlight on your others TVs/ future TVs to stop them prematurely dieing.

Can't help with why your TV isn't working. Never had one die. But I'd suspect a capacitor or two. Probably in the switch mode power supply area. They are cheap (too cheap these days), and last 5 minutes. Especially with the heat some TVs throw out.

  • Is there much difference between this and the C727? In laws need a new TV and the C727 was on my budget short list.

    • Is there much difference between this and the C727

Sometimes they simply change the model number so that one reseller is protected from price matching from another. eg the C725 and C727 could be the exact same TV just with different model numbers. I have no idea if this is the case for this, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is.

      • Yeah, thanks. This is the 735 though not 7**. From what i can tell its not a native 100hz panel, so not ideal.

Should I wait for Black Friday for better deals?

    • yes, wait for the c2

      • +2

3k vs $700 hmmmm, different market bud

  • +1

Been using a TCL 65" QLED since 2019. As someone said above, Android can be a little laggy sometimes, but it doesnt bother me since we just use Google TV these days.
Got extended use during lockdown. Going fine so far. 🤞

I will never buy a TCL again.

    Shittest TV I’ve ever owned

  • Is this at every costco?

i thought the warehouse savings voucher only says $450 savings, but screenshot shows $650 + $100 tcl cashback too, so wondering if it was a manager special at only one store?

    • No !

    • @JJJ - which Costco did you get it at? Thanks!

      • Epping Vic have on special for $899 and it's only for pickup. Costco website have it listed for $949.99 delivered.

      • Epping vic

        • It’s not showing up on the website now. Any way to check the stock before buying the membership? I’m close to Epping VIC

I'm holding out for this TV's bigger brother the TCL 65C835 Mini LED TV - https://www.tcl.com/global/en/tvs/c835

If anybody has any leads on bagging one of those under $1600 (excluding TCL's $100 cash back) please point me in the right direction.

    • +1

This is the way. The mini LED is actually amazing.

      • +1

        What's so amazing about it?

I thought oled is suppose to be amazing

        • I thought oled is suppose to be amazing

OLED is better but also twice the price. MiniLED gets you to 'almost' OLED for half price.

          • @1st-Amendment: Mini LED also has some drawbacks like blooming etc but agree overall good for most ppl.

    • Check out The Good Guys eBay store. It is currently listed at $1695 and there is $120 eBay discount.

    • +1

Goodguys has it advertised for $1695 and doesn't show as a discounted price. So if it is their regular price , Good Guys staff usually can workout a better deal for you - https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/tcl-65-inches-mini-led-google… + they have a $70 store cash for anything over $800 + If there is a TCL cashback on this model , you may end up getting it within your budget - Good luck

      • I got one from TGG at a great price recently. It is listed for $1695 but the RRP on their computers is $3k+ so they cannot move too much on the price.

I can also confirm it is eligible for the TCL cashback

  • +3

Bought the TCL 55C835 today from TGG. It's amazing.

Online and store price was $1295.
Dropped to $1165 by sales rep.
Used a Macquarie Marketplace gift card to save $30.
TGG offered a store cash of $70.
TCL promotion gives a Cashback of $100.

Total cost after above stack was $965.

  • +1

    $100 gift card on models:
    65C835 / 55C835 / 65C735 / 55C735 / 75C635 / 65C635 / 55C635 / 85P735 / 75P735

  • Does anyone know when the 65C935 model will be available? I cant seem to find it anywhere in Aus

  • My friend sees it in Ringwood VIC without cashback label, probably not participated for this store?

  • Hook it up to an Xbox, you won't complain

  • I am contemplating between 65 and 75, which one should I get? My friend wants 75.
Below is the 75 from binglee.

  • Which series to get ? P series ? or C series ?

  • +1

https://tclpromotions.com.au/ - cashback claimable here and it lists this model. There was 4 left yesterday afternoon at Moorabbin Airport.

  • I just submitted a redemption request. TCL only got the mailing address and does not do the rebate via ETF like Samsung.

TCL must be hoping that claimants are going to forget to cash the cheque sent via Aus Post?

  • argh! bought the C735 for $1350 just a month ago

  • The only store with this tv is Ringwood apparently fyi

  • Any reviews or feedback ?

I am not an AV expert but in my opinion the picture seems to be "alright - nothing to complain", OS is not lagging and the Onkyo sound is great.

  • I bought a TCL Android 49C6US 3 years ago I didn't use it often and now got a black screen (not backlights issue) just 2 months after warranty expires :( :S , fixing it cost more than buy new one… I guess I won't go anymore with this brand…

    • +1

Mate, its bad luck. Same can happen to any brand including Sony, Samsung or LG even after 1 year

      • yeah really bad luck :( but why happened with my first Android TV :s :'(

  • Seems like OOS in Sydney stores and not listed on costco website…

  • anyone got their cashback yet?
the email confirmation said 10 days or something like that, but its been well past that now.

    • Yes I got email from TCL digital giftcard, I can only use it in Goodguys store, as I purchased TV from the goodguys.
