    Better but this

Or even Amazon Fire TVs that's on special most of the times

I would opt for Google tv, better quality and Australian. Firesticks are also great and usually cheaper

Yeah Google TV has been very good for me. I own the good Old Vodafone TV, Xiaomi Mi TV box, Amazon Fire TV but would prefer Google TV over any of those

I have xiaomi mi box 3, Firestick And Apple TV. Depending on app I switch amongst these. But if I had to buy now I would opt for Google tv which I tried and sent back as found it very similar to xiaomi. Since price difference is now tiny I’d go for Google tv.

@fozzie: can you cast to these like GTV or only screen mirror like a firestick?

            • +2

@CVonC: My xiaomi mi box let’s me cast. Not sure about this one here.

Most definitely NOT a deal. The 4K version can be had for about $10 more.

Problem I had with my first level entry Fire TV Stick was that after a while it couldn't connect to my WiFi and now my latest 4K Max version is having the same issue. What gives with these Fire Sticks? Is this a common inherent glitch?

Meanwhile my older Xiaomi Mi Box 3 hasn't skipped a beat all this time and also my Vodafone TV too has been working flawlessly.

I have 3 FIresticks (4K Max and regular) and have never had an issue with any

      • In have a 4k max that always complains it doesn’t have enough space to update apps.

        • I'm not sure how many apps you'd need on it to get to that point, but mine is loaded up and I've not seen that issue.

          • @gasman70: No that many: all the FTA apps and maybe one or two extra.

            • @ALBastru: Don’t they have microSD slots?

              • @0jay: No, I have an OTH adapter with an USB stick attached to it but not all apps can be moved on it. Sometimes the stick freezes and it feels like those 10$ Android phones.

                • @ALBastru: Ok. If they’re fixed capacity storage I’d be culling any apps you don’t use frequently and just make do with a more limited selection.

  • Rubbish stick, wouldn't even make a good paperweight. If the OP is putting this up as a deal simply because store stated 50% off, well it's not. Possibly a deal if it's the 4k stick. This 1080p version is too slow, a laggy mess and crashes often.
