  • I have one. It's a POS. It'll start sending notification at random for a week, then you don't hear it for 2 months. Also, don't think you'll be able to log into it whenever you want, it regularly refuses connection for weeks on end. I should have sent it back under warranty because it was like this out of the box.

    Thanks for the neg, Rep.

    • Two of mine have been fine for at least a year now, no problems like what you've experienced. Also linked it to Reolink cloud to test (They now have Australian servers), and they've run fine connected to that too.

Sounds like your router is dropping the outbound port mapping. Do you have it on a static DHCP reservation?

    • Not sure if I agree with this

I have one, and the only real issue I have is that it takes 10-15 secs to make a connection to the camera when I receive a notification

      • Yep, I'm experiencing a delay of about 5-10 seconds to view the live stream after receiving a notification.

    • I have had four of these on duty since launch several years back.

Other than the laggy activation from motion and the PIR being a little too sensitive to shadows from trees, etc they've been relatively solid performers.

      • I'm glad everybody has had a different experience to me. Mine is not good. I can't even log in right now, "Live viewing failed".

Haha as a Rep I literally cannot neg your comment, but okay. If you’re having issues with your system, maybe look to troubleshoot it properly because your situation definitely does not sound normal / not what you paid for.

How dare you bring facts into an impassioned vent? /s

Fair enough. The neg was so fast I assumed it had to be you.

Given its plug and play I honestly don't see what to trouble shoot.

        • +1

          That’s totally fair too.

It’s plug and play but there are a lot of variables which could impact your set up (eg, your cameras connection to your router like bdl mentioned or firewall settings, rebooting to factory settings, updating firmware, or the method you used to set up the camera).

          • @pifts: What's the warranty period? Any argus 3 deal? Thanks

Given its plug and play I honestly don't see what to trouble shoot.

Hmm so it's a case of ICBF

@M00Cow: No firewall, the app updates the firmware, it connects (properly) for a week at a time.. . So, don't be so quick to judge.

    • Owned couple reolink products and never had such issue. It might be your internet connection or router problem

    • My exp has been a mixed bag too, mostly bad. Its too slow to wake up and start recording, hence records after-the-fact, which sometimes may help but mostly not. My neighbour had an incident and asked if I had any footage, I didnt since the camera didnt wake up in time to record it.
I have disabled the notifications as shadows, birds, spider webs etc can cause false alarms.
For live view connection using either home wifi or mobile data, it works sporadically. Probably goes through a long list of servers before you receive it, who knows.
Will I buy it or recommend it, No!

  • Two of these refurbs are likely two of the three cameras I own/owned.

  • I bought one of these years ago and it's ability to detect at night was abysmal, I changed to an Reolink Argus Eco and has been fine since then. I likely would have purchased another Argus Eco at this price but I'll definitely pass on the Argus 2

Not to mention the Argus 2 looks ugly XD

Bought 5 maybe a year ago. 1 dead a month ago and the others still ok. Warranty is a hassle. Basically want you to jump through hoops to prove it's faulty and then you pay the shipping costs both ways. Not worth the hassle.
Cameras have worked well. Key is to not have it too far away else the PIR won't trigger the motion sensor and therefore won't start recording
