  • Does this support Samsung S21 25W charging ("super fast charging")? It needs PD 3.0 support for it to work, not sure if this has that.

    • -1

What voltage and amps does that need? You can check it off to the list in the listing.

      • +3

Hi, actually simply having the voltage and current being listed does not mean it will be used. The actual protocol (in this case PD 3.0) needs to be supported so the charger and the phone can talk to each other and negotiate the 25W charging.

I found this out after I purchased a charger like this from Officeworks, which apparently does up 45W on one port with the same voltage current values that the Samsung flagships use for 25W, but it actually only charges at 15W because the charger doesn't support PD 3.0.

From a quick Google search, it looks like this charger supports pretty much all the standards out there, so should be a safe buy!

    • +1

On the MM listing, it does mention supported protocols include Samsung Adaptive Fast Charge (PPS). But I'm not sure if it charge S21 at 25W.

      • Yep excellent, that means it does.

    • +1

Needs PPS. PPS is an optional feature of PD. PD isn't a guarantee that it will have PPS.

I have this and highly recommended. Does super fast charging on my xiaomi redmi note 11 pro and my laptop lenovo legion 5 pro slow charging 100w.

You probably need to buy a new 100w charger cable as stock one is crap. I bought 3m 100w cable.

    Seems a decent performer - https://youtu.be/b2OReKLE2aI

    Thanks OP.

  • wow, this product price went up and down since yesterday. It was $79, then reduce to $71, then $61. Not it is jacked up to $79 again.

    • It's up at $85.99 now - with ebay plus code is $67.07

  • Paid $65 last week..

    • Also I was stupid enough to buy from their ship from CN link.

  • +1

It's a good device for travelling. Anywhere I go I just need a simple adapter and can easily charge my stuff both on 240, 110 and 5v

    • can i ask - what adapter are you using?

      • It depends on the country. Since the power board has Australian plug, wherever you go, you just need a country adapter. I have some generic one with multiple different options I bought at an airport.

        • the one round cylinder type that has many pins on the side which you push and the prong comes up at the top ?

          • @CyberMurning: nah it has like 3 different sections that you can pull out. I saw the prong ones though, they should do.

  • +11

That wall plug doesn't meet Australian standards (if its the same as pictured). The base of the pins aren't coated as required on the neutral and active pins. Just noting this as if you get shocked or it causes a fire, I'm not sure if insurance would pay out (if they figure it out). I believe this is the China Type I plug.

Edit: It's missing the part insulation on the Active/Line and Neutral pins

    • +5

If I buy this charger, get a sparky friend to cut off the non compliant plug, reconnect a locally bought plug, test and tag, does that make this unit ok?

      • +1

        "Friend"

    • Hi mate just want to ask something as you seem knowledgable on this: I have a similiar 100w GaN charger bought last year from amazon but it was since removed (the whole store is gone from amazon) and seeing your reply made me a bit worried about it: it have the insulation on the active and neutral line but no earth pin. Is this fit for purpose? I can see the same brand is still selling on kogan and aliexpress but not sure how reputable they are when even amazon dropped them.

      • What brand is it? There may be commercial reasons for dropping Amazon that's unrelated to safety. Are there any safety labels or certification symbols on the roduct label?

    • +1

      Correct it is non-compliant with AS/NZS 3112:2011

Manufacturers, importers, distributors, agents, retailers and hirers are reminded that it is a breach of the Electricity Act 1945 and regulations that plugs without insulated pins are sold or hired or offered for sale or hire.

Another issue is the plug goes to the opposite direction and takes two sockets on your powerboard.

      • On the other hand, it will fit onto old school skirting board power outlets where an Aussie transformer would not, assuming you don't have infants who could get access. So could be handy if you only have skirting board GPOs as an option but don't want to use one of your other power boards. A rare use case, obviously.

It will obv work fine with single row power boards, although it will add a bit of width to yoru setup if all your other transformers on it are pointing the other way.

Australia managed perfectly fine up until 2005 when the insulated pins became the standard for plugs on Australian appliances.

    • +5

No, they didnt. This particular law is written in blood.

      • Is there a technical reason why Chinese haven’t done same?

        • +5

Safety in general is not a high priority where the value of individual life is much lower.

        • Australia is a small market that they couldn't give less of a flying (profanity) about when there is no enforcement on selling illegal products.

    • +2

It was made complaint mid last century. It's also the law, which isn't selective for a reason. If you have a toddler and watch them grab a plug, they tend to end up with 1 finger between neutral and active and if they manage to stick it into a plug, you can say goodbye to them. It might be a joke to you, but the laws were introduced after WW2 from a result of deaths and the increasing number of electrical products in the family home.

  • +5

I wanted this, but as someone with a baby I don't want to risk him getting access to the non-insulated pins accidentally. Bummer.

    • I got this and am returning it for this reason :(

      • I'm glad it's not just me. I keep looking at it and its a great price - but it's a risk as we'll have it under the couch at home and little hands can reach under there.
I guess I could duct-tape the plug into the extension cable but I still don't like it.

  • My ocd can't with the type A ports labelled as USB.

    • Label maker/black texta FTW

  • +5

do note does not use figure 8 cable and is not removable/replaceable esp for travel. cable is pretty thick and bulky

  • Can someone confirm if this comes with the Australian adapter?

    • +2

It comes with a China plug. It fits in an Australian socket, but is not compliant to Australian safety standards.

    • It should use AU plug style doesnt it ?

    • It fits into AU socket but the tail goes inwards which means you lose two sockets from your powerboard

  • Does anyone know if it can fast charge a new pixel?

    • +1

I have the 65W and it fast charges my P6P - so should do the P7

  • Is there an AU version of this kind of form factor? (AC plugs + USB output at a decent rate). The common points are the power points are not insulated, it's the china style (upside down)

And while I'm asking for stuff that probably doesn't exist, it would be awesome if there is something like this with a removable power cord so they are portable!

  • Has anyone swapped out the CN plug for a female C7 (figure 8) plug?

  • so does this only output up to 100W even on the AC ports? Whats the point of that?

    • AC port is independent of the USB-c and USB-A ports. Anything you stick into the AC ports will be the same as if you'd plugged it straight into the wall socket.

  • -2

I missed out and it's out of stock so I'm trying to find the same item from Aliexpress but I can't find one that is AU/CN plug. It's mostly EU/US. Can someone help me find it?

    • +1

I missed out on the previous deal(s) and happened to notice this one before it appeared on ozbargain. Keep checking, they do come up fairly regularly.
Like you, I'd checked Aliexpress and found the same, can't see any with a chinese plug option. Only US or EU. Also worth noting is that most of the ones listed on Aliexpress are the version without the 2x AC ports.

    • +1

It looks like there is stock again so check out the baseus ebay store now.

Edit - they also have the 100w Two meter USB-C cable with watt display for $13.11 (using the PTCH20 discount code) - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/313642459271?var=612453428547

      • Your link maybe baseus non au store so we may pay gst?
Also without watt display, price is almost half

        • It is actually baseus store, they have several ebay shops.

GST should already be calculated into ebay.com.au items.

  • +1

Both of my packages (from the two different named baseus online stores) have been shipped from Sydney with PF logistics. so I gather they're the same.

    • Its the logistic centre that eBay uses. It allows overseas sellers to bulk send their stock to the warehouse and it gets sent from there. It's good when you have no problems. If you have a problem the seller needs you to send it to them overseas.
