  • Thanks Op … I hv been looking for this

  • I paid $40 for this hose in 2020, still like new.

  • thanks op. need a new one for a while

Can I cut it in half and make two hoses?

    • You can cut it into as many hoses as you like, but they will only be useful with additional hose connectors

    Hose gone

I looked at the CamelCamelCamel history and saw that even on sale it was usually twice the price, so bought on impulse. Even the worst 30m hoses at Bunnings sell for more than $25, so you can't really go wrong. It's only 12mm wide, so it's a bit narrower than a regular hose, but that means it will take up less space coiled up.

      • I do find impulse buying the bane of Oz though. Sure you snag a bargain…but you never really needed it and it sits there unused while those that woulda used it never got to buy it haha

        • I agree, although in this case I actually needed a longer hose…

  • My 15m is always just a tad too short, so this will do nicely.

  • Damn, nearly bought two of the 2 way tap adapter. Was looking at other stuff, now its $50

    • Should tap that buy button faster….

$0.73 for Hozelock Easy Drip Adaptor Nut

Read that as, Hozelock Easy Drip Nut Adaptor 😂

Great price for a quality garden hose at 30m length.

That said, we have the Ultimate, which is supposed to be better than the Ultramax. The yellow outer shell has many cracks after only 6 years. Perhaps leaving it outside under the sun is not ideal, but it is advertised anti-UV with 30-year guarantee, I thought it should be more robust than that.

I recently got the Aldi hose. Comes with 20 year warranty. Who the hell returns stuff after 20 years?

      • +1

Nobody will get a refund after 20 years, it's just a marketing scam by Hozelock. People see it's got a 30 year warranty and think "Oh it must last that long if it's got a 30 year warranty what a great hose" but it couldn't be more further from the truth when it doesn't last a fraction of that time and they wont honour warranty.

Same, mine started cracking after only 4 years both hoses and the 2 my FIL got at the same time so 4 different hoses all cracked and sprung leaks. I contacted Hozelock due to the 30 year warranty and was pretty much told to pound sand.

Would never buy a Hozelock product again.

      • Hmmmm… Maybe this wasn't a wise impulse purchase after all…

      • I imagine the T&Cs are about as long and confusing as federal legislation. Can you recall what they did to wriggle out of honouring it?

  • Missed it :(

  • Hose before bros

    Boats and hose

  • While we're all here, can anyone recommend a garden hose fitting that doesnt leak/pop off? Maybe something more like the philmac poly pipe fittings, that screw on super tight

  • My hose are worth more than $25

    • Yo' hose hose and a bottle o' rum

  • Missed out.

  • Damn, but for an hour of inattention, that hose could have been mine.

    • He who hesitates is lost.

My view is to buy, then if you regret it just cancel before it gets shipped

Alas, I'm in the same boat. Not due to indecision but distraction from my main purpose in life - to travel as far from RRP as mankind ever will.

  • Out of interest what's the standard outdoor garden tap size? I know it generally fits to the standard connector that you screw on when you buy a pope or Holman hose.. but just curious what the standard tap sizing is and connector that one screws on usually with the quick release flick for hoses?

  • +1

You can get what they call 1/2" and 3/4" taps. Household are usually !/2" and 3/4" commercial. Thread is BSP. That's why most tap fittings come with a 3/4" fitting with a 1/2" reducer in them.

  • May have got that wrong. Could be 3/4" househld outlet and 1" commercial. They mostly use metric sizing these days but pretty sure threads are still actually imperial.

Anyway Google garden tap to get the full story. It can be confusing.

  • Finally arrived, for a moment thought they were not going to fulfil it.

Great value for a name branded garden hose.
