  • Was thinking of getting it, but apparently it's not good for airlink for Oculus Quest 2, which is one of the things I want to use. Apparently it has stuttering and it's a known hardware issue. Not sure if this impacts anything else.

    • Whats some good ones, or is there a list somewhere thats been complied of decent ones?

      • I use my old TP-Archer D7 in Bridge Mode. Works really well with Virtual Desktop. You can find them on eBay for 30 bucks.

        • Whats your latency like? Do you need VD or just use the normal airlink?

My bro is in an apt block and want to try bridge with their wifi, direct connections to theirs with multiple devices seems to keep getting drops for him. so this maybe an easy sln as well as using airlink

          • +1

@Huntakillaz: Airlink works fine. I just prefer VD. I have my PC connected directly to the archer which is then connected to my NBN modem. On VD I get like 4ms on networking. Max 40 ms all up since I'm using HEVC codec and 100 bitrate at 90 fps.

edit: forgot to mention that the router is about a meter away and it's the only thing using the wifi.

        • Bought a TP-Link Archer C2300 on FB for $40 and is brilliant. But still prefer ASUS because of Merlin.

  • I'm too not worried about max speed (anything that will stay above my 50mbit/s internet connection will do)
I'm more interested in have best range possible.
Anything at similar price that may be better?

  • Reminder with Imports, will likely only have UK plug

  • My question is:
You can get Asus AX1800 routers for close to same price.
I know this is theoretically better at AX3000 spec, but in practice, is reliability, range and even speed actually better?
(Real question, please enlighten me if I am ignorant)

  • GL-iNet AX1800 Flint WiFi Router on AmazonAU is a better bet, it has a 14% discount voucher atm too. Not theoretically as fast as this tp-link unit, but it's going to be updated pretty much indefinitely due to OpenWRT.

  • Can anyone confirm if UK routers like this are compatible with NBN? I can’t see an substantive differences looking at the specs
