  • I've contacted appliance central to find out if they are participating in the current TCL cashback promotion

TCL lists appliancesonline as authroised retailer but 182 shipping for the 75 inch to perth kills that.. Sharp pricing but Black Friday is not far

    • Appliances Online <> Appliance Central

  • Ive been tossing up between the 75" in this C835 or a 65" LG C2.. Im struggling to decide. Main use is PS5/Switch and disney+ for movies and tv shows. Anyone got any extra insights? Ive done all the rtings reviews etc.

    • Instead of C835 why don't you consider 75C935? Videopro has it listed for $3899, but some might say with that price they rather go with Sony or Samsung.

      • Because it’s far more expensive?

        • 65" C2? It's around $3800 at most retailers, not that far I'd say.

Whats the difference between the C835 and C935? Links to reviews would be appreciated.

  • how does this compare to Hisense U8HAU or U9HAU?

    • Have a look at the Whirlpool TV thread:
      https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum/126?g=186
General consensus is that TCL is much better again this year for Mini-LED regardless of what the paper specs say.
That said, the Hisense X9HAU OLED looks good, and could be worth considering.

      • Isn't that X9HAU priced quite closely to the LG C2? Don't see those selling well

  • will good guys price match?

    • Dont know about Good Guys Jbhifi did it for me today for $1580 with free delivery for any TV above 65inch and $100 gift card too.

      • thanks mate,

is it cashback or gift cards? I don't know what to do with $100 giftcard tbh

        • Yeah i understand sorry it is gift card for use in jb only.

  • Been tracking prices on these for a while. Keeps coming down steadily $10-20 at a time. Waiting for a proper discount though to save a bit more ($200-300). Maybe Black Friday or clearance sales once the 2023 models start coming.

    • Hey mate if you are willing to wait, get it on TGG NOW.

Shopback is offering 6% cashback till 8pm tonight, together with $300 cashback from TGG and $200 Visa gift card from TCL, as well as $70 TGG store cash and if you can pick up in store it would down to $1600-ish.

      • Thanks for the heads up. Is the $300 cash back from TGG the FRENZY 20% off? Is that what you mean?

      • Can you use the TGG store credit or the TCL gift card to reduce the purchase price? I'm guessing not.

TGG 20% off only brings the price down to Appliance Central's regular price. Then they both qualify for the TCL gift card. So the only difference is the store credit.
So that depends if you have loyalty to the TGG. Have read some shocking reviews about their returns/repair process.

How long is the store credit good for anyway?

Personally I prefer my discounts to be cash in hand.

          Here is what I've got

          Paid $2291 ($2236 + delivery $55) with FRENZY code
TGG cashback $300 (approved, I selected bank transfer, will take up to 7 business days)
TCL Visa gift card $200 (to be claimed)
Shopback traced $152.45 (got an email)
Store Cash $70 (pending. If it traced automatically)

So without the store cash all up it costs me $1638.55.

          • @davidl820: Thanks. Can you explain the $300 cashback? Can't see where that is advertised. The bonus offer on the product page says $200 cashback.

            • @stuckster: I see why you are asking about the $300 cashbask. It was a bonus offer and supposedly valid till 9/11.

Just looked again the product page, apparently they have taken it down. It was there when I placed the order and my claim did get approved.

In that case, I agree with you the price is about the same as Appliance Central, not worth the wait.

              • @davidl820: Hmm, I found the T&Cs on the cashback offer. It says not to be used in conjunction with any other TGG offers. Do you think it will stack with the TCL cashback?

              • @davidl820: I see it. Victoria. You'll be getting a Good Guys gift card, not a visa gift card.

                • @Gav: I opted to have it transferred to my bank account - that's real 'RealCa$h' for me :)

Fwiw, I received a reply from appliance central stating that they are participating in the current TCL cashback promotion

    • -2

I'd be checking with TCL, not Appliance Central. TCL are approving the cashback, not Appliance Central.

Does anyone know if JB Hifi is also eligible for the TCL cashback promo?

  • TCL C835 55" is only $1016 at the good guys now, using the 20% off promote code + $100 cash back from TCL. Didn't check the other sizes but maybe similar deal.

    • don't forget 4% cashrewards

      • Does that stack with any discount code?

  • I set this tv up today and first thoughts are that I’m not that impressed. The tv is so reflective! Having an open window in the reflection is so bad. The viewing angle is pretty bad and the picture seems dull. Only saving grace is the sound as it’s pretty good for inbuilt speakers.

    • That’s disappointing to hear.

How fast does it boot up? No reviews talk about it. My last tcl you could make a cup of tea before it turned on.

    • +2

      I got the 65C835 version.

Yes, it is a bit reflective (hope you removed the safety film) than expected - but it does make up for with its brightness.
Didn't have issues viewing the content even in daylight in lounge room.

Sound is a surprise for this price point

TV is snappy - installed multiple apps incl VPN.
all works perfect, no lag in jumping between apps/TV.

Literally 1 sec boot up (pls check is fast boot enabled), and without hesitation snaps through menus

For the final price (sub $1000) i paid for 65", couldnt be more value for money.

      • How did you get to sub $1000? :o

  • Looks like they've dropped their prices further. $1485 for the 65" and $1896 for the 75"
