Just a heads up about Catch

Bought an umbrella from them a few weeks ago, arrived faulty (wouldn’t open without forcing it), so kind of made it as useful as a knitted condom. Lodged a case with Catch, takes them AGES to respond. Nearly 2 weeks before I got a response, asking to provide further information (not sure how much more information I could provide considering I showed them photos, videos) and every time it’s about a 2 week turnaround before they contact you back!

So far it’s been nearly 2 months, and nothing has been done..

Time to refer to consumer affairs

      • You will find out soon enough that Consumer Affairs are a bunch of toothless tigers.
They have so many cases, do you think they give a toss about a $20 umbrella? Bottom of their pile, I am afraid.

I've found that the threat of sending an issue to consumer affairs tends to put a bit of a rev up the seller. They don't want to have their time wasted if consumer affairs gets onto them.

It costs nothing to threaten with consumer affairs so best to give it a try.

Agreed. That is a good tactic, but word it carefully so that they don't call your bluff.

Yeah that’s why I pay with PayPal, at least there is a tiny bit more coverage than the useless ACCC

  • One I looked at the RRP was higher than Apples. Midnight 44mm SE is $449 at Apple, $479 plus $9.95 delivery at Catch. Sale price with delivery (if you don't have free delivery) is $393.15 (a bit over 12% discount). Even if you have the free delivery, it's not even 15% discount (still a miracle with Apple price fixing).

    • Ah they're older SE versions, so I'm not correct, but that makes it an even worse deal.

  • I could be wrong but it looks like those SE watches are 2020 version. Are the 2022 version also 20% off?

  • Price in title

The series 7s are decently priced id say.

    • Indeed.

That said I am worried these might not be au stock, so one year Apple warranty only.

      • It says authorized reseller, so yes should be Australian stock.

  • GSP lewl

The SE models the OP notes are most definitely the 2020 version. Bad deal. The 2022 versions are barely cheaper on Catch vs the Apple Store (447 vs 449 for 44mm GPS model). The Series 7 deal is good provided it is Australia stock as noted above.

Anyone here know anything about when they'll finally include the light based glucose monitoring they've been vaporwaring for the last 5 years? That would be the only reason for me to justify buying this (for mom).

  • Catch seems to have resurrected this deal today.
