What models should I be looking at for multi-day hiking tracking? Map navigation is a bonus. Mainly interested in tracking
ultratrac mode (uses minmal GPS to track and while preserving battery) and solar would probably be good features to look out for. The Garmin site has a good compare function that lets you see the features side by side.

Tbh the 945 is an awesome watch and at that price an absolute steal. The 955 is marginal better in my opinion with HRV status and some better training stats available. However the 955 is $799 and even if you get it at 20% off through BUPA it’s still $150 more than the 945.
