  • Is the base plastic or steel ?

    • +2

I'm pretty sure it's steel, and very well built

      • Thanks bought one after missing the previous office chair deals

        • +2

Sorry the base seems to be plastics. Though very think and reinforced. Hard to tell by just looking at it.

          • @ppdogs: It’s all good still seems very sturdy , will give it a try :) Thanks

  • A few hundred second hand Mirra 1 chairs for $500 at https://www.facebook.com/cbdofficefurnituresydney/posts/pfbi…
No arms though, so probs annoying for a home office.

    • I would actually rate this better than the Mirra I use at work

      • I guess it depends, I don't think the chair will last 10 years of daily use, but then again it isn't priced that way.

Personally I hate mesh base, mesh back is fine. Find mesh base to be too firm for me, I like my foam.

        • For sure, I have no idea about the durability of this. Though seems to be well built for a $200 chair

    • is $500 a good price for a second hand Mirra 1?

  • I bought this 6 months ago and it is a nice chair.

    • Good cushion for 10h+ use?

    • +1

      can it forward tilt?

    • How tall are you?

    • What's the lowest possible seat height? Most office chairs are too high for kids and it isn't in the specs. Thank you

    • How tall are you?

  • +1

I would vouch for this one too. For the price, it is definitely worth it. After using all the stupid gaming chairs. This one is comfortable for both work and long hours into gaming

  • tossing up between this and ikeas JÄRVFJÄLLET, anyone recommendations?

    • +1

I personally wouldn't recommend the Jarvfjallet. After about a year of use, it creaks a lot and isn't super comfortable when sitting for long periods of time. The headrest also isn't very comfortable as it naturally seems to cause neck flexion. The foam base has held up pretty well but it has shifted a bit off center.

If you are at your desk all day, I think its worth splurging on a decent ergonomic chair. Same philosophy as buying a pillow; its worth paying more as you interact with it for many hours every day.

Is the chair in this post any better? No idea.

      • bugger, ive read quite a few reviews about the jarvfjallet being the model up from the Markus and the markus was supposed to be a pretty decent chair. im not a fan of the fake leather but thought its was decent in terms ergonomics.

thank you for your feedback on jarv

  • Thanks, just ordered one

  • Thanks for posting this.

The main difference I have found between HM and the knock-offs is that the mesh is never as tight/taught.
HM is like sitting on a tennis racket, others are like sitting on any other mesh chair - comfy for a minute, but not as-was designed for the long haul.

    Any comparison here?

  • +1

I purchased then returned this chair a few months ago. I found the mesh is quite uncomfortable if I sit for an hour or two. As other said above, the mesh seemed to be too firm, not sure if it gets softened after some time. This chair is sturdy and will definitely last for at least a few years.

    • How'd you find the height? Are you tall at all.

  • +3

Should I wait for Black Friday sales or get this now? To use for work and gaming.

  • Anyone know how this stacks up against the Ikea Markus?

    • +3

This is way much better. I watched a review for all good officer chairs sold in China https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cist5QiK-yw

Ikea Markus is really a rubbish.
This one uses better material which makes it expense, but sell for less. I bought it a month ago from Costco. No complaint yet. Bought the second today.

  • Is this one better than Desky pro+ or Sihoo V1? Or they are quite similar. Last time, a friendly OB mentioned Desky pro+ is good in general except the arm rest. I would like to hear a bit more from you guys.

  • Thanks bought. Guess if I don't like it I can always return it

King of all the ErgoDuke Human Millers??

    • +1

      Long live the king!!

    • +1

Definitely this. That one you posted isn't very Ergonomic from what I can tell. Looking at the Officeworks reviews as well, maybe not the best quality base. In general, gaming branded chairs often are not as good as those at same price. There are some good chairs, but expect the ones under 500 to be pretty bad.

  • Have the IKEA gaming chair but its not comfy at all, anyone can recommend the best sub-$500 gaming/office chair available ?

  • +1

I bought and then had to return this. Overall pretty good quality for the price, but I couldn’t get used to the fairly aggressive lumbar support which is unadjustable. it felt like something was pressing hard against my lower back after sitting for 30 mins. For those who like more lumbar support, it could work for you.

In the fully reclined position, the aggressive lumbar wasn’t an issue anymore as the weight more even distributed over the entire back, but at times I felt like I was going to fall off backwards.

In the end, bought a steelcase leap and no more complaints.

    • Thanks for the insight. I’m a fan of strong lumbar, so am considering it.

      Did it have forward tilt?

    • How much difference btw this and leap?

  • +2

Can someone tell me how this is for tall people? I'm 6'2.

  • Can someone compare it to around $800 steelcase chair?

  • How tall are you ?

  • Can the arms be lowered enough to go under the edge of the desk and not hit it?
It's not a problem with an Aeron, but I had to remove the arms on my other mesh chair to work with it.

    • Arms can be lowered/raised. It's still a tight squeeze at its lowest for my desk (73 standing desk)

  • Get your ergobuddy while stocks last. These prices are ergolutely ergod.

Could you please provide your feedback which one is better ?

  • Thanks OP. Bought this chair earlier in the week from Marsden Park NSW store and I really like it.
Having used the Aldi ergo chair before, this one is lot more spacious and fully adjustable
