Just buy a pro gen 2 which is another level from all the other airpods. Investing 100 more is worthy.
Different fit, different feel, different audience.
please try pro 2 in the apple store. its noise cancelling and audio quality is really another level. once you tried it, you might not want to use other airpods.
I’ve tried the Pro 1, don’t like the feeling of having my ears plugged. For my use I actually prefer minimal noise cancelling because I need to hear what’s going on around me. That leaves audio quality, and whatever my dear 3rd gens are missing I don’t notice it enough to want to “just” spend another 100.
I can’t stand the in ear design so for me these are the og. Really happy with it and spatial audio blew my mind the first time I tried it

These are amazing. If you cant stand the silicon tips of the other ear pods that litter the market, this is the best option to go with. Fits comfortably, so light you forget its even in there. Sound is great. And if whatever you're using has a built in graphic equalizer, you can make the sound go to god heights. Didnt expect to like these a smuch as I did, but after wading through 4 different cheaper alternatives trying to find something good, I bit the bullet and grabbed these a few months back and I'm pretty annoyed I avoided them thinking they were overpriced average ear pieces. They can certainly be cheaper, but they're not anywhere near what could be described as average. Quality items. As an audiophile, I endorse these. Which means nothing to everyone.
Have you tried the pro2? Any difference in terms of sound quality?
Not personally. Only gone by what others have said which is the sound is a big jump up to 3. The stems are shorter and they feel better to wear. Some claim the size is a bit too small and they fall out. The only way that will happen is if you forget you're wearing them, which is easy to do, and turn your head sharply on an angle or something. I mean they havent fallen out for me so not sure what those others are doing. Nothing normal if you ask me.
I think Amr911 is asking about the AirPod Pro 2, not the normal AirPod 2.
AirPod Pro 2 supposed to sound better than AirPod 3.
@edfoo: Oh my mistake.. It most likely does sound a little better but thats mainly because of the silicon enclosure around the ear opening. That usually improves noise cancelation and bass strength. I dont have first hand experience with them since I cant stand the silicon tips.

@Amr911: Just keep in mind that they dont accept returns on ear pieces. So be 100% sure you can handle the silicon tips for the long run. I think I made it to 2months with my previous set before I rage quit. They just started to get a little painful. I'm a huge audiophile but the slightly better sound wasnt worth the discomfort for me.
