Not the lowest, I got this at $230 before or $239

    • +1

Are you happy with the product?

      • +2

I paid 270 in May at Bunnings. Quite happy with it, though it needs a reboot now and then so I have it on a smart socket so this can be done remotely. I've also hardwired it.

      • Yup! Been working since I installed

      • +1

Had one for several months and it's worked fine. Keeps footage of all events from the camera on the device, no payments needed.
Also have several other Eufy cameras which also save to the base without problems.

Bought this because of a botched delivery of a large framed picture (one person delivery who dropped it and shattered the glass) and they denied it ("no, we had two people delivering it and never dropped it").
Just like dash cams - you wish you had it before you needed it!

    • Pulled trigger at 275. Been waiting for awhile for it to drop. Let’s see how good it works

  • Are there different versions of the homebase?
If so anyone know what version this is?

    • +2

Home Base 2. The new home base just came out with expandable storage.

      • Home base 3 is much better. just dont know when it will become compatible with other "older" eufy devices.

        • Most devices either have been made compatible or will be in December 2022 at the latest.

  • +7

That is home base 2 There is a home base 3 which came out a couple of months back and you can upgrade the memory to 16TB. JB selling that home base on its own for $349. I am waiting for Black friday sales.

    • +2

I think Black Friday is the play given it's 2 weeks away at most. JB should have their deals starting Tuesday 22nd if last year is anything to go off.

        • +1

I'm just a random internet stranger. My yes or no has no weight.

If it goes on sale, you save some money. If it doesn't, then you've waited another 2 weeks to buy it.

        • +1

I picked this up last week at JB on sale for $1682 (minor haggle from sale price of $1699). Hopefully back on sale for Black Friday.

So far really happy with it.

        • +1

          @Hudcon
They were $1699 a couple of weeks ago.

    • I have this and a few cameras and all the cameras have their own SD card for storage locally. So what is the home base storage used for? Just the footage of the door bell unit?

  • Got it for $215 during prime day

  • And eufy 4K camera with solar are also out, so batter never runs out

  • Just watched a youtube video on this and the only annoying part is when it's time to recharge the battery. It's not removable which means you have to take out the whole unit to recharge it which takes around 6 hours. You won't have it on your door for that long.

    • so… what?

    • I have had this since June and only recharged once so far.

I also have this set to a power hungry mode which is aleet everything (not just humans) and max sensitivity (5/5).

    • My mum has a ring doorbell cam that is the same - isn't that the standard for doorbell cams?

      • +2

You only need to release the battery pack from the Ring Doorbell 2, not the entire unit.

    • +2

Easily solved by wiring it up with one of these - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/383266281177

I've had mine for a year now and it's worked flawlessly and has saved me many trips to the post office to collect parcels. I got mine from OW for $228. I then used the security rebate that's on offer to seniors in WA (my dad lodged it on my behalf as they weren't going to use it), so in the end it only cost me $28 - https://www.seniorscard.wa.gov.au/news-announcements/announc…

The best part about the camera is you don't have to pay any subscription fees like you do with most of the others.

Some people also complain it doesn't have enough storage, however you don't need it. You simply view/download the footage to your mobile if you want to keep it.

      • Thank you sooooo much for the seniors info. Hadn't heard of it before.

  • +2

What about the security flaw on the door bell? did they fixed that?

  • So how does it ring in your house? I just have a standard wireless audio doorbell - do you need a tablet with the app always on… it's not convenient to get out your phone and load the Eufy app every time the doorbell goes.. by the time you have done that there is a mailcard left on the doormat!

I currently have Eufy cams so interested in this.

    • +3

You can setup homebase to play loud chime on the bell press.

      • Ah right! Probably not worth me getting then, I already have a standard camera on the door. Cheers

    • Do you mean to see who is at the door? We can ask our Alexa to show us on the screen, but there is a lag. This would mostly be for capturing persons when you are not home.

  • I have been using this for more than a year. 100% happy with it. If I was buying now, I would go with the dual camera version, 2nd camera points down so you can check any parcels left at the door

  • I'm happy with mine but bought around 249 a year ago. Great for monitoring parcel deliveries. Very seldom recharge and it can be done overnight so not without a doorbell during the day. Also feel its additional security when we aren't home as we know when anyone's been down out driveway.

  • +1

Yes have this - good that there are no required subscription costs. Works well as a security cam but I’m yet to have a successful conversation remotely despite having full signal showing in the app.

  • This isn't a special price at all.

  • Dont forget to price match with OW

  • +2

    Price matched at JB.
Stacked with Perks $30 off $200 spend and AMEX $15 Statement Credit

    • this what im doing now. high five!
