The RAM is actually 16GB soldered, and 1x 16GB SODIMM.

    Check PSREF: https://psref.lenovo.com/syspool/Sys/PDF/ThinkPad/ThinkPad_P…

    • Correct - which means if down the track you need to replace the 16GB SODIMM with a 32GB one it's still possible! (Maxing it up to 48GB RAM 😂)

Good laptop, except for the fact that the 2 latest BIOS versions are bricking some laptops that have a SODIMM stick in it and Lenovo so far haven't released a fix after about a month. Have about 10 P16s & T16's in our fleet and half of them have been bricked by the BIOS update. They work when you take the SODIMM out but still really really disappointing.

    • Thanks for the info, just bought one, definitely won't update BIOS

    • Thinkpads are supposed to great. Lenovo needs to step up its game.

  • Anyone can create account?

    • Yes. Once you spend $15k+ it'll auto upgrade to LenovoPro+, which entitles you to 20% discount etc.

  • What's so good about this? Sorry, I don't know much about laptops.

I did see versions through google with half the HDD, ram for $3,500 tho :/

So I'm guessing this is really cheap for what it is.

    • Most laptops don't have discrete graphics - I don't need a supercomputer but I do record some videos every now and the with OBS broadcaster at 1440p (and wanting to do it at 60 fps instead of just 30).

It'll also be good at rendering some basic videos.
