MY mind led me to read 6850M. Phew! No, I pass this one.

I dont know in which timeline is this a deal but it is certain not a deal in ours:

    • 6650M is a refresh of the 6600M with slightly higher clocks and memory speed, the latter of which falls behind of a 3060 mobile. This is equal to a 3060 mobile at best, and without DLSS and nvnec and RT.

    • Paying 2 grand for a checks notes 1080p 144hz panel is pathetic in this day and age, especially given the lucklaster gpu, the Dell G15 have a slightly less sad screen at 165hz, thats 200$ more expensive in a sale but that came with a 150w 3070ti which shreds the 6650m.

    • Build quality is still bad. The fact that the screen wobble is present all the way from the budget Victus range to the Omen just makes it sadder, its not a 'this year only problem' neither, does HP just refuse to address its an issue or something?

For the love of god dont buy this.

Completely agree with you. There have been better configurations from better manufacturers available for less money. There's absolutely nothing fancy about it to justify that price.

if you're in love with Omen, there were 3070 options for around $2300

why would anyone consider this GPU at this price point is a mystery

correction: that was 4 months ago. just checked, there are 2 3070 Ti options for $2474. that is a much better deal than this, even though they are equipped with 1080p panels. HP is lagging behind the competition in this regard

  • 1 year warranty on a laptop that costs $1,949… Good luck enforcing that in Australia!
