Logitech MX Mechanical Wireless Keyboard (Full Size - Tactile Quiet) $199 + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Umart

160

Umart hotdeal on Logitech MX Mechanical for $199. Seems to be the lowest it will ever get at the moment. Essentially the same price as the mini which is also going for $199. Seems to be OOS on the Amazon store and office works. Probably can price match at JB hi-fi. While stocks last. This is the tactile quiet version which uses Kailh Brown Switches. Non-hotswappable.

  • shitty type feelings, don't buy this…

    • Might be difference of opinion, but I like it so far, coming from a MX Keys to this a couple of weeks ago.

    • Any recommendations for other wireless keyboards with multi-device support?

      • Have a look at Keychron's offerings.

        • My only concern with keychron is Bluetooth stability, I heard from some users that it isn't as stable compared to Logitech.

          • @twlandre: I have a Keychron. While it's nice to type on, the Bluetooth kept disconnecting. There was also a lag when switching to different devices. On average it would take about 15 seconds or so. 15 seconds doesn't sound like a lot, but whenever I use the MX Keys it was pretty much seamless. But with Keychron, you can use wired.

Keycron offers comparatively poor battery life & inconsistent Bluetooth stability v. dedicated wireless.
Aside from key feel, the Logitech definitely wins out for all their wireless keyboards.
I’d argue the MX Mechanical line offer an excellent compromise between battery life & stability v. typing experience.
It still really sucks that Logi used an abnormal space stem width preventing keycap swapping…

        • I had to get rid of my Keychron low profile wireless mechanical … i was facing terrible Bluetooth issues, wouldn't switch between devices half the time.
I use a wired Mechanical Keyboard with a KVM Switch now

          • @gankmeplz: The unifying receiver is the most reliable I’ve seen. Rarely disconnects, unless I’m microwaving something

Keychron K3 owner and the bluetooth sucks, the device swap speed sucks, and the battery life sucks.

Only thing preventing me getting something else is i am 2 switch sets deep on it and dont really need the BT/switching features anymore so it stays plugged in.

Never been disappointed with premium Logitech keyboards.

        • I have a K3v2, no real issues, though I don't really use it over Bluetooth. My previous keyboard was an MX Keys.

For those having issues with their Keychrons, have you tried updating firmware?

The unifying receiver is the most reliable I’ve seen. Rarely disconnects

Not to do with my receiver, but I have an MX Anywhere 2S that constantly stutters. Fine over Bluetooth, though.

          • @psyren89: mine is a V2, although I dont feel like its fair to say theres no real issues just because Im not using those functions. I bought it because I wanted device switching BT and a wireless keyboard, and those features are so bad I have no choice but to not use them.

its worse than Logitechs offerings in both respects. its defining features are poorly implemented.

the keys and the frame/chassis are fine, but the Logitech is hands down a better keyboard and a better product if you need those features.

        • I have two keychrons.
It's better built than MX IMO.
But the wireless connectivity is just poor. Switching between devices takes forever.
Batter life is also below average.
I just have mine connected all the time

    • This is a good option from Logitech if you want a full sized keyboard that works with Bolt receiver (to work with MX Master 3S). I have this and it's not shitty at all but I do prefer the MX Keys. This is one is not bad at all. I spend almost 10+ hours everyday working with this keyboard.

You have to customise the keys that don't work for you, for e.g. I hated the Lock key at the top right corner above the num pad because I kept pressing it while working with numbers so I deactivated that key using the Logo Options + app. I also customised the snipping key to do something else.

Unfortunately MX Keys for Business (works with Bolt) is quite expensive in comparison and difficult to buy so I opted for this one. Can't complain to be honest.

This year I got myself a keyboard with 35 gram electro capacitive switches. NIZ is the brand. I will never touch a mechanical KB again

    • +1

      Irrelevant flex 😅

      • Actually it's to get people to consider something other than a mechanical KB. I got mine because of sore fingers from typing on a mechanical with 45g switches

        • Sore fingers from 45g actuation?
I feel like you've got a degenerative muscle condition.
          Or you're typing wrong.

@Sleeqb7: Lol why is it so hard to understand? Some people prefer lighter force switches, others prefer heavier ones.
It does not mean something is wrong with CoolHwip.

  • That’s one sexy keyboard, I love the offset tones.
Sadly I’ll have to stick to my ergo.

  • Looks like this is one of the 1% of keyboards that don't have backlighting!! Will have to check it out then.

    • It has backlighting - "Backlit keys automatically adjust to the environment and turn off when not needed – resulting in optimal battery consumption. Low-power mode shuts off backlighting when battery is below 10% to extend power even further."

      • Boo. I know I'm in a very small minority but I just don't want any lighting on my keyboard.

        • I believe you can turn it off, which increases the battery life to 10 months. It still there when you need it.

  • Just matched at JB via chat, stacked with perks $30 off $200 and hoping my AMEX spend/save will come through too.

    • How did you stack with perks $30 off though? Doesn't the keyboard cost $199 ?

      • Finally did it, just added a cheap ass gaming mat and got it for $178. Probably could have gotten a dollar item to get the discount, but oh wells, a gaming mat is useful.

        • How did you add another item to your cart when price matching via chat? Thanks in advance

          • +1

@maxboston2: Just tell them when price matching via chat, that you like to add another item into the cart. And then use the codes from the mega thread to get the $30 off once it hits $200.

  • Can you please point me to the mega thread deal. Sorry I’m new here and can’t find that one. Cheers

The JB deal has expired I'm afraid… Use to be here:https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/736756
