Dont do this to my heart, i thought i was looking at a 6600 XT lol

    • +9

Only 10 more days until Black Friday. Surely there must be 6600 XT deals again then.

      • +1

        Also Cyber Monday.

      • Surely there should be, not sure what im gonna do if there isn't haha.

        • +2

If not I think I'll settle for a 6600, that extra performance would be ideal, but I'd feel kind of bad paying 400+ for an XT when the 6600 is 300….

          • @HolyFosh: True, a 6600 is still great for $300, that's why a lot of people are aiming for the XT at $350 or lower, best price to performance you can get.

            • +1

@LuslecGrace: For me I also have a 75 Hz monitor.

So I might as well take advantage of the extra 10fps the XT will get me.

    • +10

6600 XT should be this price. HODL till BF!!!

      • +7

6600 XT is discontinued. Price is unlikely to drop particularly far. If you don't want a 6600, then you can wait till BF for a $350 card. If you want a $300 6600, then get this.

        • +3

For ATO claims, the magic sub $300 mark makes this extra attractive

          • +1

            @Sapiens: Can you please explain?

            • +2

              @Teebytok: https://www.ato.gov.au/Individuals/Income-and-deductions/In-detail/Capital-allowances---$300-immediate-deduction-tests/#:~:text=You%20can%20claim%20an%20immediate,amount%20before%20applying%20this%20test.

              • @Sapiens: Talk to an accountant. The immediate tax deduction can't be claimed for something that is a part of a larger thing as far as I understand it. A video card should fall under that.

        • wait till BF for a $350 card

What model should one be on the lookout for?

          • +2

            @vawiyoci:

            • Sapphire NITRO+
            • Sapphire Pulse
            • Powercolor Hellhound
            • Powercolor Red Devil
            • Powercolor Fighter? —> Not sure about this model or if its even widely available, but its made by powercolor which is a solid AIB

These are the top of the chain for AMD in general.

            • +1

@LuslecGrace: Thanks for the brand recs. Thought they were talking about $350 non-6600XT or nvidia cards lol.

    • I have this one, and look jealously at the rx 6600 xt! Even though this one is fine for me.

  • +1

    Surely XT sub 400 soon

    • +8

      Didn't we already have a $349 6600XT? Months ago?

      • +2

        yea there was

  • Its a pretty good card! Not much to look at though

  • +9

Seems like a total bargain when you can get these 2 games with it as well. JW are on the list!

    https://www.amd.com/en/gaming/raise-the-game

    • Thanks for pointing this out - didnt see any Aus retailers when I looked before

    • Thanks deal updated

    • +1

I remember there weren't any aus stores a couple of days, glad that they are participating now! I really want DI2.

Anyone know when the deal expires? Couldn't find any info

      • Found it:

        Valid for invoices between 9th November 2022 - 4th February 2023 || Must be redeemed before 4th March 2023

  • +5

Great card, I picked one up used recently, getting 80 to 100+ fps on 1440p ultrawide on the games I play.

    • +1

      Not sure if its a good upgrade over RX580 , with Anermine's Modded drivers https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/amernime-zone-amd-software… . I get 75-80 FPS on 3440 x 1440 , 144hz monitor. Ofcourse Cl16 16GB 4000Mhz is also an important factor.

    • +1

What games are those? I'm looking to upgrade from a 5600 having just purchased a 34" 1440p ultrawide.

  • +3

Time to move on from my GTX 1060 6GB

    • +4

Me on an RX 480 debating the same move hahaha

  • +1

What would you suggest as a PSU to go with this or the xt edition?

    • +4

Estimate your total wattage with this and tell us the number so we can recommend some suitable A Tier PSU's

      • Thank you!

    • +2

A 550w psu should be enough assuming ur cpu is also budget based. If u want to future proof ur psu then 650-750w is plenty for years to come.

      • +1

Thanks, will look at a new PSU as the starting point.

        • +1

No worries. Make sure to check reviews and get a PSU from reputable brands.

  • +1

I just wrote AMD sales yesterday as i was missing AMD on the list. Finally they added some stores. Thumbs up. not so much for the Deal but for the info, as i want both games and it will definitely affect my purchase decision on blackfriday/cyber monday.

  • +2

$295.29 with eBay plus using code PLUSFLASH3 for me.

    • Would be worth 1 month of eBay Plus to get this coupon with Xmas coming up

  • +2

I bought this. I couldn't wait anymore for the 6600XT to go down.

  • Wondering how easy to update psu and this graphic for dell built in desktop? My old gtx 1660 ti got busted, was thinking to update this or xt but seems like I need to change psu as well.

    • +3

Does your PSU have 8 pin power for PCIE? also check the PSU wattage, although this card doesn't use more than around 100-120W usually so you might be ok with a 300W+ PSU depending on other specs.

  • +2

Maybe time to upgrade both kids PC's from their RX 580's to RX 6600 and sell the games.

  • Got one of these a while ago for SFF build in the NR200, deshrouded, and works pretty good. I figure I'm happy with the mid range performance until I feel like a higher end card is a good value proposition (if that ever happens).

    • Would it fit inside the NR200 without deshrouded?

    • Isnt the NR200 (18L) a roomy case? Im planning to pul a full sized gpu in mine.

My partners 7L case should fit a full sized gpu (2slot) as well without deshrouding.

  • how much could we sell the games for?

    • +5

Callisto Protocol is $90 on Steam so maybe $60, depending on reviews. If reviews are bad then lots of people getting their copies through this will be selling them, but tons of people are very interested in that game. It's basically Dead Space 4 and there's a lot of love for Dead Space.

Dead Island 2 is still a while away from release so I'll guess $50. Don't know a vast amount about it.

  • +1

only $50 cheaper after 6 months really

    • -1

technically 100% cashback after 6 months, that is if you claim under ATO deductions. :-)

      • +3

how is it 100% cashback, doesn't it just reduce the taxable income by $300, not necessarily $300 back

      • How can you claim a GPU?

        • as long as it's a work expense

        • +1

Need to have a video card to display video on a monitor in your home office!

        • Say you need to watch CCTV when at work so you don't get mugged

        • Tax fraud. The same way tradies claim sports/luxury cars as work cars
