just received my $35 cashback one. Feel so bad when I saw this $43 cashbcak

    • What a disaster! If they raise the cashback again, I’ll be sure to tag you

  • +2

Bruh, I literally just ordered the same sim earlier with the $40 cb bonus…. zzzz

    • +1

Ordered yesterday thinking surely no more increase lol… ffs.

      • +3

Feel kinda cheated. They should have made it clear from the get-go what the maximum cashback return is. I am guessing they haven't met their quota (as indicated by creating a false sense of urgency by ordering the sim 'asap' so as not to sell out) so they have to eat in to their commission margins and increase the cashback. Just a hunch…

        • +29

Hi. No matter what we say or do, we're always going to be wrong lol. Just for the record - the cashback rate was never going to be more than $40 and I eluded to the urgency of purchase in my post due to the incredible sales we generated for Boost at just $35 cashback. I personally reached out to Boost this afternoon to see if they could give us a few extra dollars to help you guys as I know just how popular the deal has been. They were hesitant to agree to anything higher at first, but I managed to convince them to do it. If you believe there was false urgency generated, then that's your prerogative. I'm just calling it as it is. Enjoy :)

          • +4

@tightarse: Hey TA, love your work and the deals you generate for all of us.

I meant no ill will by what I had mentioned but it does still kinda suck that had I had waited another hour or so, I could've received a nominal cashback increase based on the latest offer ($3 goes a long way these days, and let us not forget the website we are all on)…

I do sound like a begging chooser right now lol (not my intention) but the annoyance still persists unless those of us that opted into the same deal also receive the updated offer ($43 cashback).

            Cheers

          • @tightarse: Only helps the few people leaving it to the last few hours though… sucks for everyone else who already ordered at a lower cashback. I'd say go hard early and stick with a firm cashback rate for the duration so everyone gets the maximum cashback.

Sure it would've been nice to get $43 instead of $40 if I waited a little longer, but at least I could order on the first day (weeks ago now?) with no worry that the cashback might be higher later.

            • @MiscOzB: Yep, agree with that view (or, alternatively, retroactively apply the boosted cashback amount to those of us who opted in earlier).

          • @tightarse: Hi other network is easy for porting out boost and porting back ?

          • +1

@tightarse: appreciate the efforts but the group of people who will benefit more is a much smaller group compared to the many that bought earlier in good faith but are now massively disappointed.

Boost is the clear winner, they have got their numbers but this is at the expense of the CR customers who now felt shortchanged.

Is CR achieving their objectives through this tactic?

          • +3

@tightarse: I can imagine the email exchanges..

            Dear Boost,
Hope you have a had a great day

Please give me $2 more, come on man it can go a long way, save $2 here, $2 there and you will have enough to buy some Sydney property house prices soon

            Regards,
            tightarse

          • @tightarse: If it was a good deal when you bought it, it's still a good deal now IMO!

This latest cashback boost was enough to get me over the line, unfortunately I'm getting errors on checkout as per Page 2 comments (tried browser + different cards + CR app on mobile) so I guess this is the universe's way of saying "Wait for Black Friday"?

    • I ordered as well, click registered but cashback not tracked and the option to claim missing transaction not available yet.

  • +23

My ozbargain platinum membership downgraded 3 times in a row within the last 2 weeks because I bought it for $170 with $35 cash back.

    • Ahha

    • +4

I heard that when your membership gets to bronze or below, you'll have to perform community service such as reporting spam or downvoting jv in order to continue your membership

      • downvoting jv

Your community spirit is lacking. Sacrilege! Anyway, I negged you, so take that! Now I need to find that piece of paper with my other 11 accounts so I can do the same (on behalf of my alter egos)

  • +3

down down and keep going down

    • No, up up and keep going up.

  • +2

Boost is trying to get market share hey

    • +3

Well-deserved market share. No fuss, good value. Amaysim is my next best choice. They both have international calls included too, bonus!

  • Bruh just ordered at $40cb.

  • Same :(
Will CB give us the difference if it's bought less than 30 days. Like banks do ..(jk)

  • +1

Sadlife. Just bought two this morning

  • +3

Any good deals for recharging? I'm already with Boost (last 20 days) and looking to recharge without the hassle of sim hopping or moving to a new mobile number.

    • Buy this and migrate to the new SIM through live chat on the website.

      • Tempting, is that something they allow or just something a few people have managed to have slide past?

  • +2
    • SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering.

This should be clarified to say:

    • SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering for the cashback to be paid out.
    • +1

I took the terms straight from Cashrewards website. It’s a Cashrewards offer after all.

  • +11

Wait for Balck friday or not is the question now

    • +2

Balck friday will be worth the wait. I’ve heard we’ll see some cracking price transpositions!

      • I caved and just bought it.

        • did you get his joke?

  • In the check out the price is $200 not $160, boost website has issue?

  • +1

Tempting.. do I hold out for Black Friday in the hope of something better (with Boost or another sim-only provider) or do I pull the pin on this?

    • +1

Holding out for discount on the 300gb plan on Black Friday

    • +4

do I pull the pin on this?

You push the pin, actually. Then the SIM tray pops out. Hope that helps

  • +9

Keeps getting better, I will buy when it's $160 cashback

    • +1

      No profit?! Amateurs…

  • +5

    HODL :)

  • +1

Damn, i wish we can keep getting these cashback offers until march, when my current boost plan expires

    • Same!

    • Same here. No point buying off eBay with codes anymore.

    • Best thing do to is pay per month then resub in Nov so you can purchase from the Black Friday yearly plans :)

  • This keeps getting cheaper. Perhaps lesson learnt is not to buy now and to continue waiting for the next better deal.

  • +1

Does Boost offer data rollover yet?

    • Upto 50gb

      • +2

No, only on the 28 day plans. Otherwise these long expiry plans would be a pretty huge bargain on full Telstra.

        • Well amaysim does on 365 days plan

          • @BinnyC: Oh and this deal is for Amaysim? Colour me surprised!

          • +1

@BinnyC: Boost has full network access on Telstra, where amaysim is on the Optus network. Boost offers much better coverage

  • I guess cashback would be $45 on Black Friday

  • +1

    Waiting for $60 cashback.

  • can I use it for recharge

  • +1

Ooh, hold out for BF or pull the trigger on this?
On the other hand, if you have decent reception where you are and do not need international calls, for just $8 more the Voda deal is pretty mega

    • I'm planning to hold off to black friday. Whats the voda deal?

    • Which?

    • +1

Are you talking about the Woolies one? I couple of things about that deal (which I think it’s better imo if you have good reception):
10%off if you have Woolworths discount
      Esim
Double data (300gb) if activated by mid December.
So if you have the Woolies discount you’ll pay $112.5 which means $9.38 a month to get 25gb a month.

      • +1

        He's talking about this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/736862

        @Jono258 @stalker878

        • Can the voda credit be applied to existing customers?

      • +1

Yep, that is the one. Plus if you have access to a GC with a 5% off deal, that brings it down again, to $8.90.
And Voda has guaranteed 5G for the duration of the deal. AFAIK Boost is yet to confirm 5G past end of this month, though it is likely to happen

        • Voda 5G coverage tho… Leaves a bit to be desired to say the least

          • @Techie4066: I have had Kogan (which I don’t think uses full coverage) and worked well in South Sydney. I suppose metro areas are fine. Regarding gift cards apparently they don’t work for sims?

            • @fozzie: I don't think there's full vs restricted coverage on Voda, that's just how limited it is normally. The coverage maps show there's far less of a chance of receiving 5G on Voda vs Optus/Telstra.

      • Thanks think I will get this for son.

  • Waiting for $50 cash back

  • -1

Does anyone know if I can use it on my existing account?

    • +1

No, I think you’ll need to port out and then back in

  • So it's activate within 30 days for the $43 cashback, but I also note:

Value SIM includes first recharge. Data offer valid for new customers only who activate by 28 Nov 2022. Terms Apply

So if you activate after 28 Nov, but before 15 Dec, you'll only get 130 GB instead of 140 GB, but still get the $43 cashback?

    • Correct, however last time Boost extended the 10GB bonus.

  • Expiring when?

    • Tonight.

  • Boost Mobile keep releasing these deals yet they continue to refuse to take my money.
"Sorry we can not process your order, please try again later". They say it is my bank, bank say "impossible" and that they can't even see the attempts. Lots of comments similar on the recent deals.

    • +1

Similar message: "SORRY, SOMETHING WENT WRONG. We’re sorry but we’re experiencing technical issues. Please try again later. "

    • Hi! We’re sorry to hear you are experiencing issues while trying to place your order. This is most likely related to fraud triggers that are automatically set in place by our order processing platform and other providers like your Bank and Credit card in order to avoid fraudulent transactions. We understand this can be highly frustrating when trying to place a legitimate order, but this sits outside of Boost’s control.

Below is a list of indicators that can affect how your order is flagged in different financial systems, which can hopefully help you understand what is going wrong:

      • Are the characteristics of this order similar to non-fraudulent orders observed in the past?
      • Are the characterises of this order similar to an order that was placed recently?
      • Is the card verification value (CVV) correct?
      • Does the billing address match the credit card’s registered address?
      • Does the billing address ZIP or postal code match the credit card’s registered address?
      • Was there more than 1 payment attempt?
      • Was the payment made with 1 credit card?
      • Does the billing country match the country from which the order was placed?
      • The IP address used to place the order isn’t a high-risk internet connection?
      • The browser used to place the order isn’t a high-risk browser

Based on the above, we suggest that you take the following actions when trying to place an order:

      • Check if your ID details are correct
      • Check if your payment details are correct
      • Enter the delivery address manually
      • Try to place the order using a different personal device
      • Try to place the order on a different browser
      • Try to place the order using a different payment method
      • Try to place the order using a different email address

If you continue to have the same issue, our customer service team may be able to help you at [email protected]

  • +3

Pity it needs to be activated within 30 days

    • +3

That's one bad side of Boost offers. I wish they offered 90 days instead so that you can plan things much in advance.

    • +1

I still ordered and even though my Lebara will expire mid Jan.. Still worth it to lose 1 month of lebara..

  • I ordered via Cash Rewards on the 10th and despite having all ad blockers turned off, my $35 didn't track.

Really disappointed and not sure what to do.

The clicks have registered (I can see in CR click history) but cash back not tracked.

Just a heads up to others.

    • +2

Message TA, he'll sort you out

    • It's not just AdBlockers that cause issues. Do you have Honey or other 3rd party plugins installed. This is why I always advise to use the CR app on 4G/5G, as it uses its own native browser, and avoids potential issues with firewalls etc. Please see other tips below, and lodge a claim via your click history after 7 days. Thanks

For tracking success, disable 3rd party plugins (AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, Honey, etc), VPNs, avoid browsers such as Brave, close additional browser tabs, and don't click away to other sites looking for codes etc after clicking from Cashrewards as tracking will be lost. Cashrewards must be your last click before purchase. Try our iOS/Android mobile app for great results. Use our Help Centre & Contact form here for any questions or issues.

      • So when the green tick appears to say it's tracking in the extension in chrome, is that not good enough?

I have had that and yet still fails to track properly

        • +2

I have a separate browser just to do CR offers. It doesn't have any extensions on it and does not have any in built tracker blocking features, and never had issues with tracking. I think Firefox and brave have some in built features that would block tracking, so stay away from those.

          • @pichxlonco: But do I not trust their extension is tracking properly when I have it saying activated?, isn't that the point of letting it access your browsing data, to get it accurate?

  • Can I use this as a topup voucher? Or this is for new customer only?

    • +1

      YMMV.

Supposedly for new customers only, but most people have success asking live chat to activate existing service on the new SIM.

      • +1

Yes, done this at least 3 times now. They might day you will lose remaining data, but if you ask politely, they will give you a bonus 50GB

    • Cashback is ineligible on prepaid phones, recharges, and any plans or products not specifically listed in the cashback table of rates.

      • Thanks. Actually I'm asking for next year - whether I would need to pay $200 or just around $160

  • +1

Oh no! few days ago I purchased for me with $35 cashback and this morning i purchased for my husband $40 cashback. I was worried the promo will end today and I would completely forget about it. Then suddenly, it's updated to $43 cashback! I lost $11 😭 , I feel betrayed

  • It's only $3 but I can't help but feel annoyed…

  • Order one . Thanks OB :-)

  • Do you get discount on renewal (Coles do - 20%)

  • +2

Such a great deal, but Woolies Mobile have me by the short n curlies (not that I have any…oooh Cyril) with their monthly 10% off supermarket shop.

  • Coming up as $200 in checkout, have they pulled the deal early?

    • +1

      See here.

      • Any $300 sim card deals coming up OP?

      • Thanks TA
