Speaking only for myself this was very underwhelming. And I didn't have to pay for my tickets.

    • I would agree. I did enjoy it for what it was, but was expecting so much more.

Really don't recommend this unless you're a massive Van Gogh fan, even then perhaps. Went to the one in Melbourne during F1 weekend and was quite underwhelmed.

There's no actual paintings, just a digital video slideshow representation of them over his life timeline for about 20 mins then straight to gift shop. It was empty on that peak Saturday.

Here's some videos to have a look at and see if it's for you or not (it's the exact same exhibit that moves around the world).

Thanks! Those videos really help us decide if it's worth even $38.50.

    38 bucks to sleep in theatre….. priceless…..

Went for full price and felt ripped off afterwards, should have been priced at half that at best

I assume this is so the activists have nothing to throw their paint on.

  • I loved it. Took the kids. We stayed in for ages. Take some snacks with you (we went in Adelaide)

I actually really enjoyed the one at the Lume at Melbourne. Not sure about this one though.

Agree. Found it quite worthwhile. Art and it’s re/interpretation is in the eye of the beholder, so of course.

I found the one at the LUME to just be ok. Not amazing, not terrible.

That one was sponsored by Lexus and this one is too so I suspect they will be somewhat similar experiences.

I also really enjoyed it - I love looking at the original paintings and have a lot of appreciation for his work in particular, but I found it a fresh way of seeing the art. I went in Melbourne and while it was a bit of a hit to the wallet, I personally thought it was worth it.

I believe it's auditory as well as visual, but you have to keep an ear out

$38 to watch a screensaver on loop.

  • Garbage - I’ve been the the Van Gough museum and the Muse de Or - now that’s an experience. This thing seems like a joke…should be paying you to go

    • Not normally an art person but was amazed at a Van Gough exhibition in Tokyo. This doesn't seem like it would be good at all.
