Wait for $59/month, $800 Gift Card

    • +2

      Waiting for so long….

    • They had yesterday for one day only, $69 with $700 on a 2 year contract

      • +1

sounds a better deal than $99 plan

        • It included 100gb of data… just wasn’t keen on been tied up for 2 years

  • +3

Will they bring back the 12 month bonus $500 gift card ever???

    • +2

      I got it in 2020 :p

    • I got it last year but the contract is up in a week so hoping it will be the case. From what i remember, they have a deal better than previous deal every week till Christmas so i will keep my eyes out

    waiting for 12 months plan,

    this 24 months one sucks,

    99*24-1200=1376/24 = $49/month

good for people want to get rid of NBN and for business phone reimbursement.

    • +1

i would argue the "good" aspect of being a NBN alternative as you would be using the battery of your phone a bit (from what ive experienced hotspotting anyway) which cant be good for it in the long run…

people often count these as "deals" and argue they use that much data…but between wifi at home and wifi at work and even with streaming on breaks I hardly use up 10GB a month with daily usage, so have never thought of these as deals personally

a boost yearly plan and a casual monthly data/mobile plan for that once a year road trip works fine

  • previously 29 or 49 you can sign a plan with a free phone, now you have to buy with 99 plan so called 1200 off.

    • +1

Homers brain….$1200 off can buy a pixel 7

      • I don't think the $49 ever afforded a new phone for free.

IIRC it was like $60+ with Virgin/3/Optus for example.
        Telstra was even more.

This is slightly more but still decent imo considering that was years ago.

Sorry I replied in the wrong node, but I agree with you about the $1200 affording a pixel 7

        • To be fair you used to be able to get a phone for free on the $9 plan when i worked at Optus MVNO in the early 00s.

But it didnt any included call dollars, have data or a colour screen

  • +1

It's not direct relating to inflation, should be $1320 GC!

  • Consider including that its 200gb once the bonus data ends (which you kindly included), for completion/ease of reference :)

  • LFG!!!

Just to confirm, this gives me the option to pay $10 per day for international roaming?

  • Do you still have to be ported out for 30 days? I can’t see that requirement in any of their t&c and yet the instore staff rabbit on about it

  • Not really a deal for 24 months, even if you get a $20 credit for 12 months

    • How do you get a $20 credit for 12 months? I'd consider it with this, as i can claim it for work.

  • +1

If this plan was $69 it would be worth it. $99 is too much.

  • Can you port in from More despite them being on the Telstra network?

    • Yes. It's only belong and boost that are an issue as they're owned by Telstra (not just vmno's on Telstra network).

  • Why can’t they do some cheaper PM plans?

  • dumb question, how can i be am Telstra customer, signed up for 12 months last year for 500 GC. How can I port in again to get another GC lol

    • +1

have to have left telstra for 30(or maybe 28days?)
too late now if you are just leaving today

  • They are also doing $1400 off any Android phone on the same plan.

    • Just got that email too! Might make it worth while for a Fold 4 now. Although Samsung is doing bonus $700 trade-in now on top of trade in…

  • How long is the expiry date for the JB HiFi Gift Card when I sign the contract? I was planning to use the gift card for next year when Apple release new iPhone 15 ;)

    • I don't think JB Gift Cards have expiry anymore :)

I have the digital ones it says the card does not expire. I assume the physical would be the same

  • FYI - I managed to get a $20 credit (12 months only) from Telstra chat.

If you claim 50% as taxable expense then I think that brings it down to ~$17-23 a month depending on tax bracket. Thats assuming full value of JB gift card too.

    • Any tips how? I just signed up this afternoon

      • I just said something like, “hi, I’ve just signed up for a contract instore and was advised I can get a $20 monthly credit for porting in, but I need to contact chat to get it applied as they can’t do it instore”.
They responded asking if it was JB hifi and that they didn’t think they could but would check. Came back and said yep we can do 12 months @ $20.

        • That's awesome thanks mate

          • @bisaya: Previously others have said could only get $10/$15 but worth asking for the $20 and see what they come back with. It probably depends on the agent you end up on the chat with
