    only worth $9 (including shipping).

    • why's that?

I bought the twin tuner version of this. Worst investment ever, the device isn't worth $9 - if it wans't so much hassle I would've returned it. Apart from the UI and remote being extremely poorly designed and horrible to use, it only manages to record shows about half the time. Sometimes sound doesn't work and I need to power it off and back on. It doesn't record more than 2 hours at a go. Closely spaced timer events won't work, it'll leave one out. And worst of all, at least half the time it goes into "blinking clock" mode, where it's basically dead and I need to reach behind the cabinet and pull out the power cord to reset it (then wait for it to boot then turn it off and on to get the sound).

I won't vote this negative because a discount is a discount, but I will never buy a Kogan branded product again.

glad you mentioned this, I was about to buy one. :)

  • $9 inc. shipping is what I paid a year ago. They had some paypal cashback thing that made this unit $9

    • Bleemo, does the single tuner model suffer from the same problems as eDust mentions for the twin tuner version? Are you happy with it overall?

      • not sure about bleemo, but I am happy with my $9 spent for this (single tuner)

it does record to my 2.5 hdd, and no problem for me,
just the interface is ugly and not easy to use,
but overall, for $9 it's a good buy, for $29+ship? you decide!

total come up to $45 for me, so I think it's not a very good deal afterall,
depend whether you could get another brand(with better interface & no problems) for around $50

  • Please put +shipping on the title
$18.xx for shipping to my area, a bit too expensive

  • why would you want to record from USB?

    • Record TO USB :) USB being the input supported for portable HDD caddy's.
