        • Yes.. I made the purchase pretty early, when the unit counter still showing about 35 unit left.

        • I bought mine before you, when the count is showing 14 units left, then the counter started increasing.

        • I also have not received the email, and purchased one before it hit the front page of OzBargain.

        • Just received the cancellation email

  • i have yet to receive a cancellation email

"After further due diligence we have serious concerns about the authenticity"

In other words the KitchenAid distributor got sick of fielding questions and threatened to go legal on these guys

    • Yeah that's what I suspected too.

      • I do wonder if they were really going to be counterfeit or just parallel imports.

Panda2U sounds pretty dodge WRT authenticity in retrospect.

  • So SoSharp have shut it down but only after we've given all our contact details to Panda2U. I wonder if we'll be hearing from them directly now? They'll need to do something if they already have a container full of European mixers on the way!

    • They'll need to do something if they already have a container full of European mixers on the way!

Maybe another "deal" on Ozbargains??? Can't wait, it's gonna be much cheaper this time. :-)

  • Just had a thought…. Not sure about the amount of $$$ involved, but what would happen to all the refunds if they declare bankrupcy??? Really hope you guys can get your $$$ back…

  • well well well. all makes sense now.

but it is sad.. no mixers ;(

  • would it be wrong if I open a dispute with paypal, you know JUST TO MAKE SURE.

Is it possible that sosharp cancelled the order because it's overseas stock? If its overseas stock (grey import), but works with our voltages and is ACTUALLY a real kitchenaid, i'd still be keen on one. Maybe similar to what 220v electronics online store does (http://www.220-electronics.com/Kitchenaid_Mixer_220_volts/Ki…)

Any ideas if this is the case?

    • +1

Well I sent an email to 220-electronics telling them what happened and provided a link to this thread. I suggested that now might be a good time for a deal!

I would have no problem with a grey import.

You guy's are really desperate for a kitchen tool.

  • I have been issued a refund already. That was quick!!

    • Thats great news for you. I still haven't received an email regarding my cancellation. Is there anyone out there that have not received the email?

      • I haven't received a cancellation email, or a refund. Did you order really early also (mine was before it hit the front page)?

I'm wondering if the original quantity was legit, and when it got popular the supplier 'found' some others which turned out to be dodgy. It'd explain why the 'extremely limited stock' became apparently near-unlimited.

        • Yes I ordered early when the count was 18 left.

  • I spoke to them, and explained to the friendly customer service agent that I wasn't satisfied with a refund, as I'd entered into a contract with the company to provide the product as described. I recognise that legally they don't have to provide more than a refund, but I had a few minutes to spare and thought I'd see where this went.

Obviously reading from a script, she repeated that 'in order to protect our 900 customers, we have cancelled our order with the supplier and have issued a refund as there were inconsistencies found with the genuinity (sic) of the product'.

I said 'this is not good enough, why would you advertise something that is not genuine? It is your company that offered the product for sale - I imagine that around 900 people are going to now post their negative experiences on productreview, ozbargain and other websites which will catastrophically damage the reputation of SoSharp'

She replied 'the issue with genuinity (sic, again) was found during due diligence'.

I asked what compelled them to perform this 'due diligence' after they'd already taken 900 orders for a non-genuine product, and why this due diligence isn't done before entering into an agreement with a supplier. She responded that the issue was not with the initial shipment, but with a second shipment due to demand - apparently they actually had a sample taken to a KitchenAid shop(?) that confirmed that the product had 'inconsistencies'. I asked if this meant counterfeit or refurbished but she wouldn't elaborate.

At the end, I asked that my displeasure and comments be passed to the CEO (Daniel McDonald) and while this was not expected to be heeded, she said 'no problem, I'll notify management to listen to this call and take it on board'. While I don't think this will make a real difference to any unhappy customer in the long term, it was (probably falsely) reassuring to hear her say this.

All in all, shame for such a polite and genuine customer service agent to be stuck with such a shitty company! Hopefully my refund turns up soon - should I spend it on a $400 KSM150 from overstock.com? :)

    • -2

Does this mean that those who ordered within the first shipment will still get the mixer? I am saying this is because I have not received the cancellation email.

    • +7

Mate, move on. You are embarrassing yourself and your fellow ozbargainers.

    • I don't get these ozbarginers with a self entitlement issues they have. Oh, "I deserve this this and this". Get over it.

    • It's shameful that you brought OzBargain into your petty squabbles. Get over it.

  • +1

Be careful, ones on overstock are US voltages, without voltage converters (110v-220/240v), it'll pop. They need to be specifically listed as 220v+ international ones afaik.

Any supplier that is smart and can supply kitchenaids cheap to everyone who's bought on this thread will make a killing with customers ready to go. 220 electronics or others, contact me if you can do me a deal :)

  • +1

Positive thing is the refund came quick. Bad thing no kitchen aid.

  • I too have received a refund. Hats off to Sosharp for arranging a refund so quickly. Still, their explanation is highly suspicious.

  • have not recieved my refund.

  • I bought the deal and waiting for refund

Commonwealth bank just rang me .. there have been a number of large transactions in USA on my mastercard $3000 $1,000 etc " were they mine ? NO so stop my mastercard issue new one refund money in 8 days IS THIS A COINCIDENCE???

      • lol "I told you so" is not the best answer and help atm. I also bought it with cc… can I do a chargeback and get them to issue new card? I am guessing the new card comes with a new card number and everything?

Damn this scams, no more buy voucher and send to redeem trap!

    • Anyone else had this happen?

This can't happen if you pay through paypal though, can it?

    • This is one reason I prefer to use Paypal when possible.

    • I'd probably say its a large coincidence, your details would have only been given to sosharp, not the 'supplier'. Without knowing too much about the company, i'd say sosharp would be legit, maybe the supplier would be more suspect. If they were going to do the dodgy, people wouldn't have already started getting refunds, they'd be holding off on all refunds and just closing up shop.

In saying that, i'm still waiting for my refund, but I was one of the last to order, so im prepared to wait a few days for the dust to settle.

Nigerians seem to have better IT education than us ha ha

Because they build their in-house IT capability, whereas we outsource our IT!
There will be more outsourcing when the Government's brightest idea - Carbon Tax hits us… sight

    • -1

Someone just gave me a -VE for my comment… Was it for my comment re "outsourcing" or "Carbon Tax"?? LOL…

Must have been a tree hugger.

  • They sent me a promise to refund email, but here is the catch… There is about $5 admin fee so I wont get my $345 back in full. Reporting this to paypal. Check, guys…

    • Just raise a dispute through PayPal. I did it this morning and they have 10 days to refund the full amount.

    • I got the full refund, through paypal.

    • I got a feeling that's all they are after… a $5 refund fee for everyone…sigh

    • I raised a dispute last night via PayPal and got refunded a couple of hours later. Case CLOSED. now where would we go to get a Kitchenaid at a bargain….

    • I'm glad I have just got my full money back from Paypal…

    http://www.smartcompany.com.au/retail/050554-group-buying-co…

may shed some light on the fiasco

still no email or refund for me either

  • no email/refund for me..

  • I filed a dispute with PayPal and received a credit memo but it has an adjustment fee of $8.93. I'm also beginning to suspect that SoSharp setup this deal to collect the adjustment fee from everyone, which is fraud.

    • I didn't have any adjustment fee (paid via Paypal as well)

    • I got a full refund back from PayPal.

  • Who hasn't got there refund?? i have not seen anything yet

    • Nope, still waiting on the refund.

      • I got $345 credited within 24 hrs

    • I got the standard email but no refund yet. Going to file a dispute with paypal this afternoon. I am giving SoSharp the three working days they asked for then I am filing the dispute.

      • I got mine an hour ago.

  • Moments after filing a Paypal dispute I get a credit memo from Sosharp indicating a refund minus a $10.64 adjustment fee. If you're gonna rort your customers at least be consistent about it.

    • They should be paying YOU a fee. Add taht to the dispute and see what they say.

      • I phoned them and demanded the full amount be paid back. They apologised and agreed that I shouldn't be made to wear the cost of their mistake.

  • Well to be fair it has only been 2 business days. My email said the refund would take up to 3 business days.
So I'll give em until Monday night.
If on Tuesday I can't see a refund I'll file a chargeback which will possibly add to SoSharp's costs.

I lodged a paypal dispute and within about 30 seconds received a 'credit memo' from so sharp stating that I would be refunded $338.54 - $5.46 short of what I paid.

I sent an email to customer service stating that I was insisting on a FULL REFUND yesterday - no response.

Today I posted on So Sharp's FB wall:

Hi - regarding the Kitcheaid deal - you did refund some of my purchase, I paid $344 but you purported to refund $338.54. In circumstances where your company repudiated the contract for sale, why am I not being refunded what I paid?

Am I expected to cop a loss of $5.46 for your admin fees? Is everyone else?

I have sent an email to this effect to your customer service and not received a response. Can you please respond?

I am minded to report this to the Dept of Fair Trading and the ACCC (assuming that this hasn't occured already)

Again, within about 30 seconds I received a call from Daniel McDonald stating that that was an error (and asked that I email him the 'credit memo' which he had not seen) and that I would be refunded in full.

Apparently everyone will be refunded in full regardless of these 'credit memos'. Let's see

    • i didn't send an email to sosharp, paypal or panda but i got refund.

So Sharp Corporation Pty Ltd just sent you a refund

So Sharp Corporation Pty Ltd just sent you a full refund of $345.00 AUD for your purchase. It may take 3-5 business days to receive the refund in your PayPal account. If you have any questions about this refund, please contact So Sharp Corporation Pty Ltd.
The refund will go to the card you paid with.

    • I received a call from Daniel McDonald stating that that was an error….

How many "errors" can a company afford to make in one business deal??? Stock availability, Product authenticity, Refunds… sight

      • I still haven't received my refund…

  • Got a full refund.

  • now to search for real deals on kitchen aids, the lowest i have seen was peterofkensington a few yrs back, but still around the $600 mark. SUch a rip off

  • I am worried as I have not received the above generic email yet. Anyone not receive the refund email yet ?

    • Blocked as spam perhaps? Have you been refunded?

I was refunded in full on Wednesday, no problems, without the need to ask or chase sosharp up.

  • -4

    I receive the refund too…
But I have a nice idea, buy this mixer from Amazon.com and convert it to 240V.

Amazon.com sell the "Black Version" for $293.7US
The new motor and the electronic speed control will cost me $150AU.

    You will still save $350AU

  • My refund still showing Pending in Paypal, anyone else got the same issue?

    • Yeah mine says pending on Paypal too. Says it will pend until Monday 9 July which was obviously yesterday, still no refund. This is ridiculous.

      • Yeah, mine is pending until jul 10 (today). I love when you pay with paypal it comes out instantly, and when you try and get it back, apparently takes nearly a week.

    • +2

Totally disappointed with Sosharp. They even not able to provide a smooth refund experience when they failed to deliver the product. NEVER COME BACK!!

  • Got my refund on 4 July. Just in time for my monthly statement.

    • The refund just cleared for me as well.

  • Some dude has them on ebay for $400-$420 + $30 shipping

  • Anyone found a cheap deal for these yet?

      • avony.com
        videooverseas.com
        plasmaglobal.com
        videooverseas.com

All seem to be the same company going back as far as 1997 and have an address in Manhattan.

But it still seems weird. The same product on their different sites has different pricing.

Note that some of them are 110V not 220V
