I need new airpods and been looking at this deal but was hoping for cheaper over the sales.

Its absolutely atrocious the 3070ti sku in anz for the zephyrus duo 16 came with a 1080p 165hz panel thats 100% srgb only. What happened to that 'nebula display with 100% p3 and 500 nits statement in the 2022 launch event?' Even last years duo 15 se had a 300hz panel sure its not 16:10 but its certainly not a straight upgrade unlike what was claimed. Didnt even bother with a QHD screen for a 4.6k machine ffs.

Shame on asus for pulling a fast on us anz customer when we are already paying a premium compared to the states. Definitely not recommend to buy any of this years duos, sure mux switch is here but the amount of premium for the lackluster performance with rembrandt doesnt work well for such an expensive rig and there is no battery life argument to be made with the duo neither, and whatever happened to the promised duo 4k120/1080p240hz dualspec panel or the supposed 5ghz to mobile sector breaking 6980HX chip huh asus.

Asus definitely forsakend the anz market this year, even the new tuf with finally updated 140w gpu wattage and mux switch somehow came with a 144hz 60% srgb panels when other regions get 100% p3 qhd165hz panel for less $.

    • Why do companies do that though? Hisense does the same thing; they provide superior products to US market and under same name and model number we get rather downgraded versions of those.

  • That's the best price I have seen for the UDM SE. That is normally $800 on special.

    • agree, very good price.
But not worth for just $50 discount to do credit inquiry with new ZIP account.
For existing ZIP user, great deal!

You don't need a ZIP account. Select ZIP on the payment screen and pay in full with gift cards. It's mentioned in the comments on the deal page https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/12960257/redir

        • Thank you so much for that!
May I ask how can mke gift card full cover the amount please? For example, its $750 however on shopback its only $700 or $800 option.
Means I have to go with $800 gift card, and remain balance for other purchase etc?

          • @Misasagi: The remaining balance will stay in your eBay account for future use. Look at other gift card providers too - you can buy the exact amount using HCF (if a member). More options: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/discounted_egift_cards

              @Chuppa: Thank you again, worked!!!!

              • @Misasagi: Did you buy from Shopback and end up with credit in your eBay account?

                • @Chuppa: Yes I buy from Shopback, but not sure where can check balance/credit in my ebay account.
Instead when check giftcard balance, can see its there.

  • Rog Zephyrus duo 16? nah I will wait for Razer Blade 18

    • Better go with a strix scar 17 se or a GT77 rather than a razer if you are going 17' or above. Razer is all looks (and i guess cnc aluminum is premium) but lackluster performance.

      • I am kidding. I've had them all by now

At this point in time Legion 5 pro is the best value for money, with 7 adding a couple premium features for considerably more

Razer is cool, and I liked mine, but QA is so spotty and support is useless

        • You sure you tried the Scar 17 SE and the GT77? These are all fairly new release in oz and much better than both the normal Strix Scar and GE77. And while Legion 7 is great it just doesnt fare as good as the big boys with their much better cooling built in and with the H55 chips being so power hungry.

          • @Brrrrt: no, not yet, next on my list, literally

I normally switch laptops every couple months, but something tells me I'll be stuck on L5iP g7 for a bit longer this time around haha

first laptop in a while that truly impressed me - but missing a couple features I cane to expect in this price range, which I am happy to tolerate thus far
