Amino Z Whey Protein Isolate 4kg $147 Delivered + $50 Credit ($65 Club Z) + 30% off Amino Z Supps @ Amino Z

OZB-BLACK

12 Months of Radio Silence…

We haven't posted a supplement deal in 12 months, despite numerous requests to do so. So I feel I owe everyone an explanation given the tremendous support we have had in the past.

With all the major supply chain issues (and seriously inflated ingredient prices), we simply have not had the stock to be able to put any worthwhile deal together. We have however been planning this deal for about four months so we could ensure we could offer something that I hope is of value to Ozbargain.

Thank you to everyone who have continued to support our brand over the past year. It has certainly been challenging, but we are continuing to improve our offering and a lot of this has only been made possible by this amazing community.

The deal

In total we now have 19 flavour options - all of which have been vastly improved from last year.

All flavours are naturally sweetened. I hate the "natural tax" :) Some use stevia, others use thaumatin as follows:

Stevia: Oz Choc Caramel (sold out), Oz Choc Banana, Cinnamon Icing, Aussie Choc Malt, Mango Sorbet, Choc orange
Thaumatin: Coconut ice cream, Choc coconut, Choc Mint, Chocolate, Smooth Milk Chocolate, Vanilla, Vanilla Birthday Cake, Banana, Strawberry, Creme Caramel, Peanut caramel cookie (sold out)

Product Breakdown

  • 100% Australian made
  • Per serve: 29.1 - 24.4g protein / 0.3 - 0.9g fat / 0.4 - 3.4g carbs (varies between flavours)
  • We only use WPI in this protein - this is not a blend.
  • Protein is grass fed, added hormone free, ultra and micro filtered and cold pressed
  • Soy free - we use sunflower lecithin instead of soy lecithin (soy is common in whey proteins)
  • Manufactured in our own NSW Licensed Food Facility in Sydney
  • Backed by our 110% guarantee. Try it and if you don't love it, we'll give you 110% back (in store credit) or a full refund (including delivery). As I mentioned in the video, we offer this so you can try the product risk-free. If you've opened it up to try it we're not going to make you send it back either.

Other Notes

  • We pack these into 1kg pouches. Choose the multi-flavour option for 4 different flavours!
  • All our WPI now has the new zipper packaging.
  • To view the full nutritional panel, just click on the "NUTRITIONAL INFO" tab on the page and then select the flavour.
  • Store credit is assigned as "Z Points" to your account within 1 week after your order ships. It can then be applied to any future order that you place.
  • Best before dates will be 20-24 months away. We turn this product over very quickly so all current stock has been produced recently.
  • You will get free delivery on your entire order when you order any Amino Z or Bandito Labs supplements.
  • There is a limit of $50 in store credit per person (+ $15 for existing Club Z paid members). You can order more than 4kg of WPI, but the store credit will be capped so we can stay in business!
  • To apply existing store credit (Z Points), at checkout, select the option in the "Payment Section" to apply your Z Points.
  • The 30% discount will be off the full price before discount, not on the already discounted price.
  • Store credit does NOT expire. Also, you do NOT have to be a Club Z member to retain your store credit.
  • The 3 months of Club Z will not automatically renew, unless you choose to subscribe. Your membership will be applied within a week of your order being shipped.

    I love them… please make a deal

    • +3

Hi Kawaii, thanks for the note. Unfortunately we won't be able to do any deals on Optimum Nutrition. You can use coupon TB-FIT on our website, but we can't do anything worthy of an Ozbargain deal on this product.

powerhouse supps has it for 45% off ($137.50) if you use vip20

  • +1

Cheers Jay, much appreciated! Always super happy with your products.

    • +1

Thanks ngengerous! I can't tell you how much I appreciate the support of the brand. Thanks for sharing.

      Jay

  • Will it even get cheaper if I use ‘subscribe and save’.
Do I still get the store credit?

    • Thanks for asking, but no the Subscribe & Save won't improve upon this deal. I'll make a note in the original deal text for clarity.

      Jay

      • But will it disqualify me from getting a store credit?

        • Sorry for the confusion! You can choose Subscribe & Save and you'll still get the $50 credit. But the total amount will remain the same ($147 delivered).

          I hope that helps.

          Jay

  • +3

    Protein costs have gone through the roof. I usually order 10kg at a time;

in Feb it was $335 RRP, $261 after discount ($33.5-26.1/kg)
In July it was $ 480 RRP, $345 after discount ($48-34.5/kg)

With the $50 credit this is not a bad deal but if you're not planning to use it, its inline with amino-z typically discounts. I wish we could just (only) see the true discounted price as the list price, then I wouldn't need to play around with discount codes, z club, subscribe and save, credits, etc to get the real price. No one pays the inflated RRP. That being said, Amino is usually the cheapest (usually only by < 5%) so I've stuck with them. Regardless, i imagine protein is going to keep getting more expensive.

    • +23

Protein costs - tell me about it. I'll be completely transparent, we got to a point where we were paying more than $33/kg for the raw WPI material - not including packaging/scoops/flavours/labour etc. And that's for literally tonnes at a time.

I completely understand where you're coming from Kill Joy and I appreciate where you're coming from about the standard price vs discounted/coupon prices. This is something we are discussing internally because we have had some similar feedback on this matter from other customers. I am taking this on board and we will be reviewing this.

Thanks again for sharing this and for the ongoing support.

      Jay

    • +1

Why has protein become so expensive all of a sudden?

      • +2

I presume logistics (freight) costs are the core issue. Not just in getting them from the supplier, but the supplier themselves getting it into their own warehouse in the first place. The costs propoagates at each level the ingredient is handled, so the more middlemen the more costs increase. that's one lasting impact we'll feel from covid for a very long time.

        • +1

Definitely at the core of the issue. Container prices quadrupled in a short period of time because no one could get a hold of one. It was mayhem at one point.

          Jay

      • +6

Too many reasons, but here's a quick rundown off the top of my head:

        • Supply chain. Everywhere was clogged up and ships were being held at ports for months at a time. Many people were running out of stock (us included) and since supply was sparse, prices jumped up considerably. We were often paying top dollar to source locally out of desperation.
        • Global supply. Global dairy supply has been low and there has been a significant spike in demand coming from China. With less supply available, this has driven prices up significantly.
        • Our weaker dollar. The Aussie dollar has dropped considerably relative to last year with global uncertainty. WPI is imported (there is no Aussie instantised WPI as far as I know), therefore cost prices into Australia are higher.

Other things like general inflationary pressures and Ukraine have all played a part too. I'm no economist, but we've certainly felt the pinch and just like everyone else, have had to put our prices up given the significant jump in ingredient prices.

        Jay

        • Is all the grass fed WPI this side sourced from NZ?
I'm guessing it doesn't matter so much where it comes from in a global market where dairy prices have been on the up and up?

          • @reactor-au: Not all, Europe/USA also. NZ saw a bit of a downturn in dairy production and their prices did spike a bit, so we have been scrambling to source WPI globally.

            Jay

        • +2

          https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/comments/z0l27x/cont…
This seems to indicate container prices returning to normal, hopefully this is reflected in product prices soon.

          • @kamykazi: Hopefully this will help for all of our sake, especially given that wages haven't increased at nearly the rate of the products we buy.

There does remain a lot of uncertainty around global dairy pricing - pressures that could both move prices up and down. What is happening with China (lockdowns) and Ukraine/Russia are both key factors here.

      Jay

      • Still doesnt work if you select multiple flavours for me?

        • +1

Fixed (again). Looks like some of my backend code needs fixing as it keeps reverting this to remove our new flavours. I'll go ahead and fix this permanently now. Thanks for the heads up.

          Jay

          • @aminozcomau: Sadly I already placed my order. shame as I did want to try the new Oz flavours..

    • We'll have that done within 1 week of the order being shipped.

      Jay

  • Does the store credit expire?
Do we need to be z club to keep the credit?

    • +2

Thanks for asking. Nope, the store credit does NOT expire. I'll make a note of this above.

Also no, you do not need to be a Club Z member to retain the credit. Both Club Z and non Club Z members have Z Points which can be applied to any future order.

I'll make some updates above. Thanks for asking!

Amino Z is now my go to protein. I'm a fan of the banana and choc mint flavours so far.

Have also used their high stim pre and liked it.

Even if it were the same price of some of the competitors, I would still buy their protein. It's even better if it's cheaper.

    • +2

Thanks so much for the support VanDamsel! I have my choc mint on my table behind me :)

I really appreciate you sharing this publicly and I'll be passing this along to the team too.

      Jay

  • Cheers Jay! just did an order. I'm a club z member, and when checking out I could see the $50 back in Z points in the discount section but not the additional $15 for Club Z paid members? I'm guessing this will be applied still?

    • +1

Oh yeah, I'll update that for clarity but yes you will get $65 back in Z Points within a week. Sorry for the confusion!

Thanks for being a Club Z member and supporting our brand! I really appreciate it!

      Jay

  • Hi Jay,

Any change you could help in doing a WPC +- Casein instead of WPI?

Thank you very much for organising this deal- much appreciated!

    • +1

Hi Rapoot 6, thanks for the note. You can use this coupon for 30% off the standard price of the WPC and Casein. It will work out cheaper than our discounted prices (and we have no other coupon codes that discount this aggressively). You'll also get free shipping.

I hope this helps. And thank you for the support!

      Jay

  • I was sad when choc banana was discontinued…I ordered not too long ago, but looks like I'm gonna have to order again just for that :)

    • As was I. I was overruled :) But yep it's back (and improved). Thank you for the order!!

      Jay

  • +2

No love for the plant protein?

    • +1

You can get 30% off our plant protein if you prefer that. Just use the same coupon code.

We have two available: Amino Z Pea Protein Isolate and Amino Z Vegan Protein.

Free delivery on both of them too.

      I hope this helps!

      Jay

      • Yay, thank you!

        • My pleasure! And thanks for the support!

          Jay

      • Hmmm even with 30% off it's still more expensive than Bulk Nutrients Earth Protein. Has anyone tried both products before?

        • Thanks for the note on this dajackal. I'll take this on board and take a closer look at how the competition compares (as I'm unsure on how their formulation differs). We do have free shipping and Z Points on ours, but the dollar amount per kg will be a little bit higher.

Anyway, I really appreciate the feedback on this.

          Jay

          • @aminozcomau: Thanks Jay. I did a quick comparison.

            Pros:
Almond protein to diversify my protein sources as I already eat plenty of rice.
No thickeners and vegetable gums which can cause GI issues.

            Cons:
            More pricey
            Less flavors

Will definitely be giving it a go given the free shipping.

            • @dajackal: Thanks so much for putting that together, that is super helpful.

Noted on the flavours. This is something we're focussed on expanding given the popularity of our plant range. Half the issue is formulating the flavours which can be a lengthy process for our team.

I will be passing this feedback along so we can discuss this further, I really appreciate it!

              Jay

        • Earth Protein chocolate tastes like powdered beans - but powdered beans is a heck of a lot better than the Ghost vegan range

          • @buckster: Ok thanks. I ordered the vanilla vegan from this deal. Hopefully it's decent

  • Thanks Jay, i was going to place an order couple of weeks back but thought of checking last OZB deal which was back on 23rd november and then decided to hold off and then voila! as expected you posted the deal two days before…its cool :)….Now I can keep on making those protein panckaes for my breakfast.

    • Hah, nice one! Thanks for the support slackerman!

We did have this one in the works for a while, but didn't want to announce this to anyone just in case we got hit by supply chain issues.

      Thanks again!

      Jay

I use unflavoured protein.Give it a try once or twice exactly as in recipe and then start doing some experiments e.g. 1/2 tpsn of cinamon or a 1-2 tbspn of grated coconut.Enjoy! and do share how you go :)

  • Damn, just bought protein and creatine from you guys a week ago. Any price change guarantee? :D

  • +1

Thanks for this, just put my order in. One of the few companies I don't mind seeing offer emails from in my inbox :)

    • Awesome, thank you jrecard!! I really appreciate the support!

      Jay

  • +1

Could you look into making some WPI (raw/unflavoured)? I currently purchase from VPA and BN but would definitely purchase from you guys if this was something you can make…

    • +2

We do have that available. Just select "unflavoured". That's straight WPI without flavouring or sweeteners. The only other ingredient is sunflower lecithin which is added at the stage that the raw WPI is actually produced. It helps reduce the frothing and improve the solubility in liquid and is less than 1% of the total weight.

Almost all proteins will have the lecithin in it, however most use soy instead of sunflower.

The unflavoured is part of this deal too.

Thanks for asking and I hope this helps.

      Jay

      • Awesome, thank you. Will place an order now! Last time I checked you weren't offering the raw/unflavoured, so super happy about this!

        • No worries, thanks JHoliday!

          Jay

  • Amino Z is my go-to, especially the iced coffee flavour.

Looking for something for the mornings and can be taken daily (lighter exercise and to keep me alert for the commute or flight) instead of coffee or pre-work out. Something like VitalStrength Thermogenic or BsC Shred Thermo.
Hopefully you add something similar with a good mix (not just caffeine and carnitine) 😏

My other feedback is that sometimes your pouches are too big for smaller items and the spoon gets mixed in way too deep or you really have to dig in to get the remaining powder, not sure if that's something others face though.

    • +1

Thanks for the feedback and support Unorthodox!

For the morning, did you want something protein based, or just a straight thermo? If it's protein based, we have recently launched Thermo Burn Protein which is a fairly simple blend (natural product, acetyl l carnitine and green tea extract). I'm open to feedback on it, and if you're after any other ingredients in the matrix I can pass this along to our team.

Thanks for the note on the pouches. We are about to roll out some bigger pouches. I 100% agree and have had exactly the same issue as you. This should be resolved in the coming weeks.

      Thanks again for the support!

      Jay

      • Hmm not sure if you can find a label online but I'd say a big selling point would be the Vitamins and Minerals support composition

Referencing the Vital Strength fat burner one:
        Vit. A, B6, B12, C, D3, E, Zinc, iron, selenium, etc

I think something like a daily mix with water similar to the likes of Berocca but with above, green tea/carnitine and some caffeine

        • Cool, that's great feedback. We don't have anything presently that is fortified in that manner.

I'll pass this along to the team and we will consider this. I think it is a bit of a different product that would be more focussed on overall health and wellbeing, which would compliment our range well. But just a note - anything like this will generally take a while to formulate and flavour.

Thanks for the feedback on this, this is super helpful.

          Jay

          • @aminozcomau: Thanks Jay - agree that it probably fits more in the wellbeing category but I'd assume it would be a good addition for those doing a lighter exercise in the morning or for the morning yoga, pilates class type too.

Plus, I think your videos and descriptions actually add a greater level of trust and credibility (e.g a mini unpacking of the ingredients and their use-case and whether it's actually sufficient similar to the call-outs from people like More Plates More Dates).

            • @Unorthodox: Thanks for those notes Unorthodox. That's helpful about the video's and descriptions. We have actually been spending more time trying to focus on this lately (video's especially) just to help with the educational side of things. I'll pass this along to the team as I'm sure they will find this helpful.

              Jay

  • Awesome, thank you!

  • +1

Hi, thanks for the deal, I got an email yesterday asking if I'd like some more after the last deal so I guess it's time to order up while it's still possible.
Just got a question on greens powders. I saw that you guys make your own, I'm looking at taking a greens powder and don't really want to shell out the huge price for Athletic Greens, I'm wondering how you think yours compares to some of the others that you sell or something accessible like Amazing Grass?

    • +2

      Hi peachhead101, thanks for asking!

Our greens is a relatively simple blend as follows: L-Glutamine (3 g/serve), Organic Barley Grass Powder (300 mg/serve), Kale Powder (250 mg/serve), Spinach Powder (225 mg/serve), Matcha Green Tea Powder (Organic) (200 mg/serve), Spirulina (150 mg/serve)

Our core focus with the mix has been on whole food greens ingredients (except glutamine obviously), all-natural and also taste profile.

I unfortunately am not familiar with Amazing Grass. It seems to be very popular but I haven't tried this myself and would hate to pass comment on this disingenuously.

I don't know if this helps, but we do have our 110% Guarantee for our greens. So if you don't like it, we can just credit you back 110%, or refund in full.

      Jay

      • Thanks Jay, I'll give it a go!

        • +1

Awesome, thanks for giving it a shot! We have a flavoured version available in the apple flavour just FYI.

Any issues at all please just let our team know. The guarantee we have we fully stand behind.

  • hi Jay,

May I know the expiry date of the "Unflavoured" WPI?

      I hope this helps.

  • You used to be on Cashrewards, any chance you will make a reappearance there and/or ShopBack?

    • +6

You're right, we were on there perhaps a few years ago. Honestly, we don't have any plans on this.

How it works is that they take an affiliate commission and pass a portion of that over to you. When we got serious about manufacturing our own brand, we did make an active decision to discontinue this so we could keep our product pricing sharper. Otherwise we are effectively building that affiliate commission cost into the cost of our products.

I wouldn't say that we will necessarily never revert back to this model, but we don't have any plans for this in the foreseeable future.

      Jay

  • After a long time, thanks Aminoz team for the deal. Time to stock up.

    • Thanks Svalusa! I really appreciate the order!

  • Can you price match Amazon with ‘strawberry flavour 4.54kg 10oz optimum nutrition whey 100%’?

    Shows $249,95 on your website
    And Amazon price being $209

    • Yep, we have a price beat you can do instantly in your browser on the product page.

But it will actually work out better for you if you apply coupon TB-FIT. Just do this in your shopping cart.

      Jay

      • Still works out more expensive than Amazon with (10% subscribe savings)

      • And it doesn’t match Amazon.

        • If the coupon code applies and isn't cheaper, just put it through the price beat option. There is an option next to the "Add to cart" button on the product page.

@aminozcomau: Thanks. I’ve placed an order to buy your product of your brand. When am I expecting to receive the store credit? Will there be any notifications?

            • @Kawaii: Oh great, thanks for the order Kawaii!

The store credit will be added within a week of your order. Just check your account and it should land in there. We won't automatically email you, but if you want us to let you know please just shoot us over a PM and we'll reach out to you once done.

  • I bought a few kg of wpi last year. They taste great but unfortunately my stomach doesn’t agree with it, gets really rumbly and the liquid goes straight through me! Due to this I had to stop taking it. It happens whether I use full cream milk, lactose free milk or water. Does anyone else have this? Is this something where I’d need to try the plant based powder?

    • Sorry to hear this phatmike128. Was this on our brand?

Do you normally have issues with lactose? I ask as there is a very small amount of lactose in WPI.

If you did have an issue with our product please just PM us your order details, perhaps we can sort something out if you wanted to try a plant based product.

      • I have had a similar issue to the guy above but I think it only happened with certain flavours which is strange. Don’t believe I had any issues with your unflavoured WPI

        • How interesting. What flavours were they and how long ago was this?

I'd love for us to look further into this. If possible, please PM over any other information you may have (eg. your order number and/or batch numbers) so we can take a closer look.

          Thanks johnnytran.

      • Thanks Jay, yes I bought iced coffee, choc mint and choc banana. I normally can drink plenty of full cream milk with no issue. Had hoped the wpi would be fine as I had the same issue with optimum nutritions products too. Will pm you, cheers.

        • No worries, thanks for that. Vanessa will help you out here, thanks for reaching out!

    • +1

I can only handle about half a scoop of WPI otherwise I get bloating and the runs.
I since switched to plant protein powder and haven't had that issue.
