This is the best file manager available for windows. I've been using this for years, you'd never go back to default explorer after using this for a day.

    • Do you use light or pro?

      • Always used the Pro version.

        • Ok. Thanks for your reply. Some of the extra functionality does look appealing but it still feels a little steep. I guess it would be nice to be able to do all the different things without having to open a separate program.

          • @ozbs25: You can just install it and try out for 30 days to see how it is, no need to pay up front. You can switch between pro and light while in the evaluation I believe.

          • @ozbs25: It replaces so many other tools. Quite the learning curve though, and the support forums are a real mixed bag.

So many of my workflows are tied into it that Windows feels broken when I don't have it.

I thought it's 40% off Optus leak file

At US$400K off, now that would be a bargain!
Even comes with free accommodation at your local jail.

  • I have been tempted to try this for years now, but think it would be difficult going back to using Windows Explorer on third party systems that don't have Directory Opus.

(Also, I am sure Opus did not make users have to wait 10 years to get a simple feature like tabs implemented).

    • Try it, it is worth it. You can also use a portable version

    • It has a portable version for usb keys

Hmm. After reading a little more, I may hold off until next year, or whenever they release Opus 13. Opus 12 was released in 2016. If you buy this you don't automatically get Opus 13. Could be waiting a while I suppose, but I've held off this long already.

    • It's been developed since the Amiga/Workbench days, so today the software is mature and well developed. If you cant do something already, you could probably customize it to work. Dont think you will miss out on a whole lot with Opus 13. Most people only use a fraction of the features now.

    • This doesn't really make sense - is there something coming in Opus 13 that you actually need ?

Or are you just waiting because you don't think 12 has enough features ? If so, this is incorrect. It has all the features. All of them.

      • Just want the latest version I guess without having to spend more to get it.

  • Instructions unclear, my information was leaked.

  • I’ve been using this for a few years. Well worth it.

    • Queued file operations
    • Bulk rename
    • Dual pane, tabbed interface

You could likely find something that offers some of the features needed.

  • Totally recommend it. I've been using it since v 10 and it's a really good explore replacement. I'm probably like 95% of users and use 5% of the features…
Upgrades in the same version (12) are free, but you pay to upgrade to a new version, like 13.
BUT, you don't have to upgrade. If what you're using is right for you…
Try it and see how you go

  • Excellent program!!!
Now i can stop pirating it, so overpriced

Can't recommend Directory Opus enough for users managing a lot of files. Layout if highly configurable and you will not look back if you are a power user. I've been using it for a few years now so when I use Windows File Explorer it feels like I have been teleported to the dark ages. I've used this deal to add another licence. Although these licences are only valid for v12 it is worth noting that v12 licences have been valid since 2016. Over 6 years without needing to pay for incremental updates is almost unheard of in this day and age and I applaud this Australian developer for not screwing its users over each year or so for insignificant upgrades as do many others.
