Fujitsu Lifebook Laptops $999 (Save $1000 / 50% off) + Delivery ($0 SYD C&C/ $20 off with mVIP) @ Mwave

80

Hi All

I came across this deal when looking for a suitable BYOD device for the kids schooling

Specs seem pretty decent for $999 considering :
Touch Screen
3 Years Warranty
USB-C Thunderbolt 4 + USB-A + HDMI + MicroSD Card Reader
IR Webcam With Privacy Shutter
Backlit Keyboard
Fingerprint reader by the looks of it

From a little research the U9311 has soldered memory so you will be limited to 8GB. This model also appears to be made of magnesium alloy hence the ultra light weight

The U7311 & U7411 has 2 ram slots in total which will allow expansion

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2022

Seems like a pretty good web-surfing/word-processing laptop for $999 but I think its original price of $1999 is heavily inflated.

You could run into issues with the 8GB RAM though.

    • Unless you are running multiple VMs , 8gb ram is enough for an average person

      • I dunno these days with windows, macos is super efficient and most of the main linux options are too, but windows can be pretty ram hungry, god help you if you want to use chrome..

        • Im using one with 4gb in my car and dont have any issues
Word processing, a few chrome tabs etc.
4 to 8 geebees is enough for grandma too.

A Windows laptop with a $1999.00 RRP that has only 8GB RAM? They must be smoking crack

tbf, these units are made to a higher standard than even Thinkpad T/X series, Dell Latitude and HP Elitebooks.

They were so expensive Fujitsu rarely even recommended their own laptops for use as an MSP here.

    • If it's good enough for Apple …

      • It's a joke with Apple let alone with a Windows laptop

  • damn how come fujitsu can put 2x TB4 in this laptop, but some razer $3k only has 1
if i have soldering skill and able to replace the ram to 16gb i will get this for sure

Last year's models but these are business grade well built very light laptops. Pretty good deal. Better than similar priced HP Aero from HN.

      Agreed.
      Nice premium feel too

    • Looks like the 9311 is the deal. 885 grams and premium high contrast screen. But limited to 8GB RAM.
If you must have more RAM get the 7411. Not quite as premium quality but has two SODIMM slots. Still only 1.2kg though.

  • On my Windows laptop average memory usage for outlook, firefox with reasonable number of tabs, word, excel, few rdp sessions is 10 Gb. Nowdays 8gb is not enough for Windows laptop even for light to moderate usage. There were a number of deals for similar laptops with 16 Gb onboard. Personally, I bought for my son Asus um425 with 16 gb RAM for 1150 during the Xmas sale 2 years ago. Nice lightweight and solid build laptop. So, probably it makes sense to consider alternatives to Fujitsu with more RAM
