The 55" is $2450. Severely tempted.
Me too but the B7 is still going strong.
This is a beast of an OLED and an easy choice out of the pack.
The Samsung S95B QD-OLED 65" is $100 cheaper at the moment would that be better or just the same as this?
It depends how much natural light you have in the room that you are plannign to put this TV. If it is quite light, go the LG - if it is quite dark, go the Samsung.
Id say the LG G2 is a much better unit then S95b
Interesting when I look at reviews the Samsung seems to get a better or very similar rating.
I think most people have a gripe with Samsung's clunky Tizen OS and lack of Dolby Vision. Also there seems to be more QC issues and screen bending happening because it's paper thin (probably won't be an issue if you're careful during install).
also, Samsung has been shown to cheat (again!) - they have special detection software so that it looks like it tracts accurately in terms of colours on standardised testing, but then when you play a movie it deliberate blows out the colours/brightness so it "looks" better vs LG - much of which will be diminished if you also turn on all dynamic contrast/brightness/HDR modes on the LG.
Also nerfed their 1% window brightness to 1000nits with a firmware update.. cause it might cause burn in. Makes you wonder why they didn't do it out of the box? Cause benchmarks.Still, it's a nice TV even with the Samsung baggage.
I found the cheat video but it looks like firmware update has fixed that. Samsung does have a clunky OS. I just find it strange that most reviews etc I find have the Samsung rated better. I don't like that paper thin screen and do want to put it on an Extendable wall mount hmm.
lg have been in oled game for much longer and the gallery edition is their master series really. build quality is a different level compared to S95b. g2 is built like a tank. also g2 is made to be hung on the wall so if that is what you are planning to do then aesthetically its a no-brainer.
