You're probably better off paying slightly more for a Xiaoxin Pad which has better chance of longevity

    • You'd have to wipe it and install the Chinese Android fork, ZUI for it to get updates. Since the "global ROM" turned out to be the Lenovo M10 3rd Gen ROM installed ontop, so no OTA updates.

      • I've had one and never bothered wiping out the device and it worked perfectly with Google Play etc. It's been brilliant from day 1. There may be some advantages to updating it, but there's nothing particularly compelling for me to want to do so though.

Hey gurus, can I get your thoughts please, why would the XiaoXin Pad 2022 appeal more than the iPlay 50 given the $50+ difference? Same size, ram, storage, main features. Only the battery is sightly weaker (anyone knows the real life experience with this iPlay 50?), and different processor (anyone knows how different?), 4 vs 2 speakers… right?

Intended usage: internet browsing, YouTube, video calls, toddler/ kids games, Spotify.

      • the 680 vs T618 is about 10% in it, brought it as an at home browsing/kids tablet/lite games and i saw reviews plays okay.

Honestly for the 139AUD i paid for this and that is cheapest for 220AUD? no contest!

        • Yeah, I feel like this Alldocube will be more than enough for my purposes, while pocketing some savings! How has battery life been for you?

@manofsteel: I only had the iplay 20 and it lasted a year wirh a faulty power port killing it, so get a magnetic usbc charger and it will go a lot longer!

  • No widevine support?

    • Nah.

thanks got one. came to 139aud after coupons

    • Is that the 64gb version?

  • Thanks paid $139.50 Australian using Amex on PayPal, for 64gb/6gb. I didn’t need it but couldn’t resist at this price cheap as chips.
I was having some doubts though it says 6g/64gb, so I contacted chat and they said it’s 6gb. Great value I’ll just pop in a 128gb micro sd ;)

  • Hmmm can't get it down to US$109.94. Stuck at US$117.99. What am I doing wrong?
Can't use BFS 13 because "The order amount(excluding shipping fee) is under the minimum spend of this promo code. Please apply another code."

    • Did you choose the 6GB/128GB bundle?

      • yes

        • Not using a new user coupon?

          • @Clear: Only using QWCBOQ6N5LTH (US$11) and then US$12 auto applied at checkout. As stated previously, it won't let me use BFS13.
I've tried deleting from cart and trying again - several times but BFS13 won't work for me and the cheapest I've got so far for 6Gb/128Gb is US$117.09

            • @bean_counter: Seems they've adjusted things slightly. I get US $110.84 now before BFS13.

              Bundle: 6GB 128GB
              Color: Bundle 1

              Total item costs: US$123.49
              Spend & Save -US$12.00
              QWCBOQ6N5LTH -US$11.00
              Total US$110.84

              • @Clear: For me, starting price for bundle 1 is US$129.99

                • @bean_counter: Ok I see why. I get an extra discount due to my membership level.

Apply coupon BFS6 with it and see what you get.

                  • @Clear: I also get tax(?) US$11

                    • @bean_counter: Yes, GST. So if you combine QWCBOQ6N5LTH with BFS6 hopefully you get a lower price?

                  • @Clear: Using BFS6 gets it down to US$111.99

                    • @bean_counter: Alright I think that's the lowest it will go. I'll update the deal to be that.

                      • @Clear: It is close enough for me. Hopefully it's a good tablet…. Thanks for your assistance

    • Make sure you go via app.

      • Wasn't using app but post doesn't mention the need to do so. Is the app definitely required?

        • I don’t know 💯, but when I tried via Cashrewards on phone it sent me on their browser and it was much more expensive than iOS app and codes didn’t work. So I’m assuming that you need the app, because of my experience.

          • @fozzie: If app is needed I would expect it to be included in post - but it's not. I'm not using CashRewards (or ShopBack) either.

            • @bean_counter: Well the ops don’t always have all means to test. For example there is an ongoing Kogan mobile ongoing and code didn’t work on browser but did in app. Sometimes it’s trial and error, cannot expect poster to know about everything.

              • @fozzie: I don't but am I the only one who tried buying without using app? I suspect not - so others would have raised the same issue - and they haven't.

              • @fozzie: Clear has helped sort. Refer exchange above for details (wasn't the app)

How does this compare to the Lenovo Tab 11?

    • Look at first few posts literally me and some dude talking about this.

  • Want to get a solid case, anybody recommend if an iPlay 40 or iplay 40 pro case fits better?

  • Just received the tablet, I can't believe how good is the screen and how light! The only thing I don't like so far is luck of finger or face id (besides Netflix etc non hd). I suppose for under $140 is to be expectrd. I got the 6 ram/64gb. Insanely good value, comes installed with screen protector.

Same here, mine arrived a couple of days ago. Paid $250 for the iPlay 40 early last year and have been very happy with it and still think it was good value. Couldn't believe this was only $130 so had to buy another one, went for 64GB this time as I'm only using 40GB on the old one. Tried to configure face id and then realised it wasn't available. Maybe it's been removed because of security issues?
Interesting that they've moved the front camera so that it is now positioned for landscape mode.

      • Cool Bruiser! Yes I agree 100% its pretty amazing for $130. I still haven't tried the sim card or the extra storage. I love the fact that you can add a micro sd and expand. I also own an ipad (which I will keep for my kid starting uni in just over a year), because this tablet is all I need to watch video/youtube (up to 1080p) etc.
It's also great to read newspapers and magazines because of the quality of the screen.
