    CO² not included AFAIK

    • That is correct. I'll add that to the description. Thanks.

  • Boo no chrome silver

    • Is "Chrome Silver" Steel?

      • Interesting. I searched the Costco site for Aarke and only the three I have in my post showed up. I'll add this one as well. Cheers.

Anyone with experience hooking this up to a C02 bottle with this? https://www.kegland.com.au/freedomone-sodastream-adapter-hos…
Is there a hole in the bottom for the hose to pass out? would make for a pretty clean setup if gas bottle is under cupboard. Otherwise refilling a kegland bottle would also work i guess.

    • Wondering this also?

    • There isn't, but you could very easily drill a hole in the metal housing, and add a bung to protect.
      Could look very neat.

Love my Arrke and have it connected to a 6kg CO2 - Sh!#$ all over the SodaStream.

With no lift off back cover, the fitting of a hose is not as simple in the Aarke. I made a matching black timber base with a rear slot for the hose to pass through which I stuck to the Aarke base. It has worked very well and is a very easy job for anybody with good basic skills and tools.

Alternative will be to drill a large enough hole in the rear of the Arke tube for the hose fitting to pass through or to take apiece out of the rear of the base as a hose slot.

Fitting the hose to the top fitting is not as easy in the open backed SodaStream but is not a hard task and is easily achieved.

      • Do you have a photo of your setup, by any chance?

The Aarke has a grip pad on the timber base with blutac spots and sits rock solid. Moved it for a pic and you can see the blutac blobs.

First shows the rear cutout on the timber base and the seconds gives a better overall view of the timber base:

          • @GRP: Nice - looks very clean, good job!

Will have to try to do something similar if I grab one! Cheers.

            • @caprimulgus: 100% no regrets on moving to the Aarke and at this price it is a no brainer.

If you have basic or better skills the base is simple.

    • Is there a hole in the bottom for the hose to pass out?

Yes the bottom is wide open - this is where you put the gas bottle.
So you could absolutely run a hose down out of the bottom and through your benchtop to the gas bottle under cupboard 👍

  • I've got one of these bad boys at home - and I love it.
Far better than 'other brands', in performance and appearance.

  • Perfect timing, thanks OP (and thanks to my mate who has a membership).

I'd been trying to figure out how to get david jones GCs from ANZ points without waiting for physical ones, but this is way better than the 229 they have it at.

It's still an absurdly expensive CO2 dispenser, but it looks soooo much nicer than our old plasticy sodastream.

Should say the matte black is also on there at the same price if someone is after that (it's what I wanted).

  • the first appliance of its kind

Released 2016. SodaStream dates back to 1903.

      the first appliance

Appliances date back to the 1890's, according to google!

See, I can take a quote out of context too! :P

(I think it's pretty clear that they mean: "the first with an aesthetic design, and not a butt ugly plastic Sodastream"). :)
