Nice find, grabbed an LTE for $399
    Thanks OP!

    • which carrier support lte watch? only the big 3?

      • Haven't looked with this one tbh but it's to replace my wife's aging S2 or 3. That was originally with Telstra but has been working fine through Woolies mobile so figured it's all the same haha
If it doesn't work then so be it

        • thinking of geting my wife a present. never had ltc smart watch before.

          • @ce5himm: It wouldn't be a necessity, just nice to have.
If the phone is always carried along with it then it will just use Bluetooth. It's not very often my wife wouldn't take her phone also

            • @whitelie: Mobile phone is not allowed to carry during work. So LTe would be very nice to have.

              • +3

@ce5himm: Depends on reason why mobile not allowed as lte watch might not be allowed either

              • +2

@ce5himm: The battery might not last the whole day without your phone being nearby and you pay $5 per month extra to enable the watch LTE.

And you are stuck with the expensive plans from the big 3.

        • Sorry.Would you be kind enough to describe how we connect Woolworths mobile in to the smart watch. Can I scan esim barcode twice? !!How it's possible.
I plan to buy smart watch which supports LTE.

          Thank you

          • @jobs85: I've got no idea how she did it, sorry.
Switched from Telstra to Woolies and it just kept working haha

          • @jobs85: Woolworths Mobile does not support 2nd eSim for Watches
If you are with Woolworths mobile you would not have LTE active on the Smartwatch

  • How does watch 5 compared to pro version?

Is it worth paying extra for it now that pro is $479?

    • +1

Biggest difference is the Pro has a larger battery, and is available in titanium instead of aluminium. Otherwise, specs, and sapphire crystal are the same. Pro also has a bit of a raised bezel. Worth the extra money? Depends on you really.

      • I'm assuming Titanium is more superior than aluminum? Sorry I was hopeless in Chemistry at school :(

        • +1

Stronger and lighter, at a cost premium. Unless you make it a habit of smashing your watch on everything you see, it's more of a marketing gimmick.

    • +1

The extra battery life is more than worth it.

I add item to cart and go to checkout but price is still $429

    • Coupon

    • did you apply promotion coupon upfront on the item page?

      • theres no coupon check box on the page

    • +1

Got to tick the box to activate the promo
I can't see if it's still there as I've already purchased

      • Finally see it now, had to go on my phone and use the amazon app in order to see the coupon, thanks for the help guys!

        • where is it?

its not on the item page or the check out page

          • @minastirith: Same issue here. Nothing shows up for me. Maybe the deal ended early…

  • Would Officeworks consider it price beating to $329, which is after $100 coupon discount?

    • +1

Highly doubt they do anything with coupons.

    • +2

Nah, they won't pricematch because you require promotional code. Same case with JB hifi

  • +1

I know people moan about the 2 day battery life. But this has fast charging.

As someone coming across from the fitbit and charge 3, with a Samsung phone, will. This Blow my mind?

I just do steps, sleep tracking, alarms, and looking at the time (a lot of looking at the time).
This or the 4 for $199?

    • +2

You van get thr 4 for 150 with 20% rebel cashrewards

The Black Friday sales have put some pressure on the 2nd-hand market, if that's your jam. The smaller version of the Galaxy Watch 4 & 5 (regular + 4classic) have smaller batteries, whereas the larger versions have larger batteries. The only other main difference seems to be the sapphire crystal - which is nice but not essential. Faster charging with the 5 definitely an advantage, but you might be able to work your way around that. Pro5 is a bit of a different market I think, so won't go there.

For the Watch 4, the larger 44/46mm versions have a 361mAh battery compared to the 284mAh in the 40mm Watch 5, and the 410mAh in the 44mm Watch 5.

In that context - what I did personally after tracking the Watch 4 and Watch 5 prices leading up to Black Friday, was pick up a very clean Watch 4 Classic 46mm for $180 off Facebook marketplace a couple of days ago. I'm charging when winding down for bed, haven't dropped below 50% battery yet, and (coming from LG Watch Urbane -> Huawei Watch GT) am pretty happy so far.

      • Thanks for sharing.
I have narrow slim wrists, so I can't go more than 40mm, without it looking like a Spartan shield on my arm. That's a really good price for the 46mm classic!

    • I own the 4
I just tracks steps, use the timer and read social media and text messages.
Never run out of battery. I top it up once a day, Charging is relatively quick.
Samsung pay is laggy so i stopped using it and switched over to google wallet. Works like a charm.
Im going.to hold out for the 6 or 7 when it arrives.
If u can get a watch 4 on sale its a good choice, unless u have fomo and want the latest tech

      • Yea watch 4 for around $200. But I have no fomo. What I have just works fine. I'll hold out.

  • Annoying… Bought yesterday for $375.

Why do a black friday deal, just to do an even better one the next day…

    • you can get refund for it

      • Yeah, then can't buy again as the coupon is single use.

  • I was just about to buy the lte in Techcart, signed up to get an additional 5% off then they added 48$ shipping at the very last line before I paid lol.

It was still working out around $380 for the lte but they pissed me off enough to leave with the ridiculous shipping.

Price matched at JB with no issues

    • Online or in store?

      • I did the price matched instore no issue this morning.

  • Would this pair and work well with a xaiomi / poco phone?
I read that the ecg and bmi may not work but there are work arounds. Any feedback with non Samsung phones would be appreciated.

  • Ahh good old days of charging every night.

  • -1

The 4 is currently $200+ cheaper for essentially the same watch - I wouldn't bother getting the 5

    • +2

Definitely not $200+ cheaper… More like $130 cheaper.

      • I was looking at jb hifi, maybe others have it less

  • -1

I would get this but I like the rotating bezel and hear they are bringing it back for the 6 series. Any truth to the rumours?

  • No $100 off here. No coupon to add or check box or whatever. Just 429
